Experience bright, crystal clear 40” HD 1280 x 800 projections from a distance of only 1 meter. At this size, even 8-point fonts can be seen and read clearly. The use of an energy-efficient LED light source delivers a 10X longer lifespan along with bigger savings. Additionally, it also ensures whisper-silent operation.

ASUS Set-n-Go Technology for Instant On/Off, Instant Height Adjustment, and Auto Keystone Correction for quick, easy use. It tips the scales at just 415g, and has dimensions similar to a CD case. Its compatibility with most ASUS laptop power adapters makes it the ideal ASUS business combo.

  • newegg Award-Winning Design ASUS Design engineers penned the lines of the P1 with the user in mind, giving it the instant height adjustment flip-down stand and making it compatible with most ASUS notebook AC power adapters. Its internal thermal design and the use of highly thermal conductive magnesium alloys together increase cooling efficiency to ensure the P1 operates silently and rarely overheats. The P1 joins a long list of award-winning designs that come from the ASUS Design offices; it recently bagged the Good Design Award in Japan and iF Product Design Award in Germany.
  • newegg Bright, Crystal Clear Display Sharp images, crisp text and vibrant colors are all possible thanks to the most innovative and updated DLP technology. Moreover, the mercury-free eco-LED light source used in the P1 has a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours. To put that into perspective, it would last for 20 years if it is used 4 hours daily. Additionally, it also ensures whisper-silent operation. Operating at a brightness of 200 ANSI lumens to allow project displays with professional precision and complete clarity of color and detail. The P1 is able to display content and visuals in HD 1280 x 800, so whatever is seen on screen precisely matches the original content viewed on a notebook or PC.
  • newegg Auto Keystone Correction An Auto Keystone Correction feature can detect the P1’s orientation and automatically corrects distorted trapezoid images that result from an angled projection. This saves the user the time and hassle of having to adjust the image.
  • newegg Short-Throw Projection and Instant Height Adjustment With a short throw ratio of 1.16:1, users can enjoy HD projections the equivalent of a 40" display with only one meter away from the screen. At this size, even an 8-point font can be visibly seen and read clearly. The P1 also enables instant height adjustment thanks to a flip-down stand that can be quickly adjusted to suit the task at hand; saving the user a considerable amount of time when compared with traditional adjustable screw-stands.
  • newegg 5 Seconds On and Instant Off The P1 can be quickly set up to provide crystal clear projections in as little as 5 seconds from power-up without any need for long warm-up times. There is no cooling down period required either, powering off instantly.
  • newegg Utmost Mobility The ultra-slim and compact P1 tips the scales at just 415g, and has dimensions similar to a CD case (W12.5 x H3.3 x L13 cm). It fits most small bags, making it ideal for those constantly on-the-go. To further lighten the load, it works with most ASUS notebook AC power adapters (?65W). One notebook and projector sharing a single power adapter makes it the ideal business presentation combo that delivers the one-two punch in the boardroom. (Power adapter compatibility is subject to change without notice. Please kindly check your power adapter before purchase. )

4 out of 5 eggsVery good for what it does.

Pros: Very good light output for what I need the projector for. Easy to set up.
Standard mounting hardware for any tri-pod.
Light.
Enough options to position the image where I need it.

Cons: Has a short memory. I'm not sure if its my unit, or I need to find the right part of the manual, but for me, it does not retain the keystone setting. Every time I power this projector up, I need to re-adjust the keystone to get the right projection screen. I am mounting this projector from above and having it project images onto a work space, and this is an annoyance.

Other Thoughts: The short throw distance is a very nice thing to have with this projector.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid little projector

Pros: - Extremely easy to use.

- Works well for older videogames as well as movies, though I do recommend using at least a white sheet as a screen.

- This thing is tiny. Seriously. All the ladies call it adorable.

- The composite video cable connection is very useful if you use any older devices.

- The unit is small, pretty power-efficient, and for the price, was a great purchase.

Cons: - Unit's fan is somewhat noisy. I ignore it pretty handily, but some people find it distracting.

Other Thoughts: Great bargain for the price. I sort of wish it had HDMI or DVI connections, but I can live without them, and I knew that it did not have them when I ordered it. This does not detract from the value of this little unit for me. If I want extremely high-quality video, I don't use a projector this cheap.

4 out of 5 eggsUnderstand your product

Pros: Nice little unit with good resolution, short throw, low heat, good response, and quick start/stop to storage times.

Very few cons, see below

Cons: The only con this unit has from what I can tell, is the Asus marketing department, yet again.

It's an Analog HD mini Projector.

This is a hybrid unit, combining LED back-lighting and DLP light tuning. One of those techs has to be at cutting edge, or won't produce results...while the other is saddled by a license that costs.

Asus mitigated this by making this an ANALOG input only unit.

No digital scaler, No HDMI license, no over priced connectors to solder on. This is what passes the true value of this unit on to the consumer, you just have to be smart enough to understand the product before buying, and Asus doesn't really help here by obfuscating the underlying tech.

Anyway, this is a great little portable unit, designed with the VGA output of laptops and other portables in mind, a good choice for that purpose.

Other Thoughts: yenalsekim's 1 egg review surprises me on two fronts.

1. He faults the unit for his lack of knowledge.
2. Admits the unit operates just fine, yet gives it a 1 egg rating due to a peeve he has with connectors he should have known full well about, I mean $40k in Asus products and you can't at least LOOK at the description and pictures???...this amounts to a baby fit.

1 out of 5 eggs1 Showstopper

Pros: Everything about this unit is true Asus quality. Well, except for the one, single Con listed below. And it kills the deal.

Small pkg. Nice picture, brighter than I thought it would be. 200 Lumens is enough. Nice settings interface. Yeah, as expected from Asus.

Cons: NO HDMI INPUT. Really?
I can live without a card-reader. But no HDMI? Asus, you're better than that and I have over $40,000 of Asus equipment out in the field that proves it.
It's so disappointing that it's almost embarrassing. I can't really explain how disappointing this is.

One single point may sound petty but it's a showstopper. I absolutely, without a doubt, would have gone with an AAXP device had I known.

The proprietary input adapter acts as a big lever as it is, but the required HDMI->VGA adapter (to interface with TF300T) will put even more weight on the connector lever.
This will cost you more.
You will have to carry more.
You will have to keep track of more.
I can't say it enough, Downright Disappointing.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome, simply awesome

Pros: Small size, super quick power up/power down, auto keystone, eco-mode for lamp to extend life, auto off feature. I run this as my bedroom display, as i primarily use it at night. At 200 lumens, 720p media looks clear as day with the display around 65in. All from about 5 feet away from the screen.

Cons: I only wish this had an HDMI input. I have an ITX-mobo that has only DVI and HDMI outputs, no VGA. I tried with a DVI to VGA adapter, but the projector could not see the image. I consider this a mild inconvenience caused by user, as I knew this only had the VGA input.

Other Thoughts: I am constantly looking to shrink down my electronics footprint in the house. This is ASUS's first projector in the US, and I give it a 10/10. Can't wait to see the next model bring HDMI into the mix!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Power in a Little Package

Pros: Spectacular quality
Small throw for a rather large screen casting area
Small package
Great colors/Display
Fast

Cons: Case to transport projector and cable is a little too tight and doesn't keep cable in.
Proprietary cable connector to VGA/Video out seems easy to break
Wish this was direct to HDMI

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small, not noisey, doesn't get hot and uses less energy than the traditional projectors.

Cons: We need to have some lights on in order to write notes while viewing what's being projected. With it having only 200 lumes our small conference room had to be totally dark.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful small projector

Pros: The combination of size and brightness will make this ideal for international use. Our non-profit was the recipient of this as a gift. We will use it a lot in our work both here in North America overseas. It is well designed with intuitive easy to figure out controls. It is made of good quality materials and feels solid, as you expect from Asus. Altogether a really nice package. The carrying case is well-designed, and will fit easily in a carry on bag. The auto keystone works well.

Cons: Brightness, but that is a part of territory with these small projectors.

Other Thoughts: The inclusion of a good quality zippered case makes this extremely useful for the proposed international use. It will be great for travel.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent mini portable projector

Pros: - Very light and portable
- Decently bright for its size (200 lumens)
- Highest resolution for pico projectors (1280 x 800)
- Good image
- Automatic keystoning (useful with the short throw)

Cons: - So light that the power cord and VGA cables turn it, making it difficult to position firmly

Other Thoughts: Wasn't expecting much, but this turned out to be an excellent choice. If you need a portable projector with good image projection, this should be at the top of your list!
