4 out of 5 eggsGreat features, reasonable price

Pros: - 16x10 ratio
- USB 3 ports
- Best OSD controls I've used, with customizable shortcuts is a nice added touch (I set them to PIP)
- Excellent colors
- Very sturdy stand, doesn't wobble or shake like many others.
- Stays cool (my westinghouse 24" put out a lot of heat)

Cons: - Refresh rate is a little poor for fast-paced FPS games
- Warranty on dead pixels is unacceptable

Other Thoughts: This could be a 5 egg monitor, great picture and easy to navigate controls, but I'm docking one egg because after less than a year I have two dead pixels in the middle of my screen. Like a smudge of dirt I can't clean off and it's a huge annoyance. According to Asus, anything less than 5 dead pixels is considered acceptable. Not in my book! My Westinghouse is from 2007 and still has 0 dead pixels, this Asus from 2015 and already has two, completely unacceptable!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Excellent color
Visibility from any angle
Easy on the eyes (no eye strain)
Extra few rows of pixels (1900x1200) are helpful

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I spend 8+ hours a day in front of this monitor. I have used the DisplayPort connection exclusively. I have had zero issues with this monitor.

Richness of color (coming from an TN panel) was immediately noticeable. I spent the first few days going through all of my photos again, comparing them side by side between this monitor and my old one. The difference is breathtaking.

This is my work PC, so I have not played any games on it. "PC Master Race" gamers should be shopping for a 144Hz monitor.

I have watched some YouTube videos and haven't noticed any ghosting or other video errata.

I will be purchasing another for my home PC, where I do all of my photo editing.

The industry needs a 144Hz gaming-oriented IPS panel, so we can have the best of both worlds. It's just a matter of time.

4 out of 5 eggsMissing pixel but otherwise a great monitor.

Pros: As a digital artist, I find the color amazing. As a gamer and a 3D animator, I find the display proficient.

Cons: There are better monitors for gaming. Just shy a year of ownership and I found a pixel that is permanently on. Its not covered under their "Zero Bright Dot Warranty." Pretty disappointed as I have old monitors with no pixels defunct and I held Asus to a higher standard.

Other Thoughts: Overall, its actually a great monitor. Its light, easy to adjust, but still feels sturdy. Has the variety of inputs I'd expect. Four USB on the side.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Monitor

Pros: -Excellent Colors
-Wide Viewing Angles
-Good UI
-Sturdy, doesn't shake
-No Ghosting
-Text is clear
-Comes with every cable you could need
-USB3 Hub works
-Lots of excelent features like Picture-in-Picture

I totally love this monitor, reading PDFs is a joy because I can have two full pages open next to one another, or two full windows too. Its in my favorite 16:10 aspect ratio, which makes working in professional applications (I mean doing anything other than watching movies) a joy because there is just a touch more space than a normal 16:9 monitor for both the task bar at the bottom of the screen and the window bar at the top of every program, it even afford you a wider vertical field of view when playing video games. The colors are fantastic, nothing is overblown or underwhelming, everything is spot-on. The display is brighter than my previous monitors and produces far less waste heat. As a user of many computer systems I find the Picture-in-Picture function to be really useful.

Cons: -Does not support 10bit color, unlike its more expensive cousin
-Suffers from the light-bleed that is inherit to most IPS Displays.*
*This only effects blacks and other very dark colors and is only brought to attention when most of the screen is a dark color. It in no way makes any content unviewable.
-Slight input lag*
*I noticed some input lag when I was playing a very fast paced video game on this monitor that I was used to playing on a traditional CRT television. This should not be a hindrance unless this monitor is used for the most extreme speed-critical applications where a response time of less than 6mS is desirable.

Other Thoughts: I didn't get mine from Newegg, but I thought I'd leave a review here anyways.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: - 16x10 aspect ratio give an extra 120 pixels of height (or width)
- Stand is sturdy and adjustable in every way possible
- nice matte finish cuts down on glare/reflections from the window in my office
- display is very bright, had to turn that down most of the way
- whites are much whiter than my old tired monitors
- joystick is a nice touch for menu navigation
- no dead or stuck pixels on the pair I got!

Cons: These aren't a knock on the monitors themselves, just on my choice to use them...

- I lost 80 pixels of width to my old 1280x1024 monitors (with these in portrait mode)
- in portrait mode, these things are tall enough I thought I might get neck strain from looking up! Got them pretty far away from my face, and then its no big deal.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these to replace my old Acer AL1917s that I had flanking my three monitor setup (after 10 years, one of them finally bit the dust). The colors are great (especially compared to the old monitors). White is actually white.

I use these for business purposes. I write windows apps, web apps, admin databases, and remote in to my hosted servers. I can't comment on their suitability for gaming or movie watching or anything like that, but for what I do, they work great. Pretty nice to be able to see so much of a website without scrolling down.

Call me an old fuddy duddy, but I prefer more "square" shaped monitors for what I do. Those are few and far between now-a-days. 16x10 aspect ratio is a lot more space than a 16x9. Don't underestimate how nice the extra space is!

1 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor when it works. Horrible customer service when it doesn't.

Pros: The monitor has a great picture. The screen has low reflectivity which is great when you have a window behind you. I loved this monitor for about 10 months after I bought it.

Cons: Bought this monitor just after Christmas 2013. After about 10 months, the picture started going blank for a few seconds after I would use the monitor for about 15 minutes. The blanking got progressively worse. At first I thought I had a video card problem and RMA'd my video card. But the card was working perfectly. So, I finally figured out it was the monitor. I went to the ASUS tech support site and navigated a labyrinth to try and locate the correct point of contact to speak to about the monitor. Every time I'd select the monitor support, I would get a message that tech support is only open during the week and Saturdays. But I was trying to contact them within the business hours they specified. I tried this several times over the next couple of weeks, but always got the same message. Tech support is closed.

Not to give up, I tried a different ASUS tech support link to see if someone could help me. I chatted with someone who told me they could only help with tablets and gave me a link to the tech support that could help with monitors. I tried the link he sent and support is closed.

I decided to file my own RMA ticket without going through tech support and just send the monitor in for repair. They received the monitor and sent me an email confirming that it was defective and they were not covering it under warranty. $180 to repair it. But if I wanted to file a dispute, I could do it through a link in the email. I immediately filed a dispute and was expecting some kind of response. However, there was no response the the dispute at all. They just shipped the monitor back unrepaired.

They did however put a nice piece of masking tape on the screen to show me where they had scratched the screen before sending it back.

Other Thoughts: First ASUS monitor I've purchased. May be the last.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gaming and all around

Pros: Perfect size
Great color
No ghosting in games (BF4)

Cons: Can't think of any.. not even that expensive.

Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for over a year now and don't regret anything about buying it. The color, clarity, and sharpness are great. I use it for general use, some gaming- no ghosting, and work with photos in Lightroom and Photoshop. The 4 USB 3.0's on the side are handy. I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking to the IPS class for a better all around monitor, especially at the price.

Again, just avg joe/general use here. I don't use this monitor professionally all day everyday, nor do I have a super critical eye thats seen thousands of monitors.

5 out of 5 eggsI'll take an extra 120 lines over 3"

Pros: I work on my PC and at this price point I have to chose a 24" with 1920x1200 over a 27" with 1920x1080. I'm not trying to watch a movie from across the room. I'm trying to work with my nose in my work.

Cons: None, given the price point and all around high quality.
