5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitors

Pros: Great picture quality. I've had two of these since 2012, and as of today, not a single issue. Considering getting two more to stack, or whether I'll go with just one or two 27", but either way, I'll be sticking with Asus!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: People complaining about the stands? There's nothing wrong with the stands that I can see. Unless you're using them on a boat or rally racing, you shouldn't have any issues. With two, it just takes a little adjustment to get them symmetrical and then we're good. Now if only companies would start coming out with color bezels once in awhile!

5 out of 5 eggsArrived Safely, Works as advertised

Pros: Nice Picture. Sleek Design, good range and motion.

Cons: Some backlight bleed/whatever you call it that is normal with IPS displays, pretty minor compared other IPS displays I have.

Other Thoughts: I would reccomend this, the price is good, it was packaged well, and works perfectly.

3 out of 5 eggsOK monitor for anyone using 3rd party monitor stand

Pros: Crisp color, VESA mountable, 1080P, Haven't had a (major) problem yet...

Cons: - Terrible stand. DO NOT recommend for free standing. Use a VESA mountable single or multi-monitor stand or they will fall. Luckily this was my plan all along. Was very happy once multi-monitor stand came in.
- Audio options make ZERO sense. Over HDMI, this does allow you to set it as the default audio device, however, in order to have sound go "out" of it, you will need to plug in external speakers to it. It has a 3.5 "headphone" jack on the back.
-HDMI is flaky. Doesn't hold a solid connection 100% of the time. Again, have once multi-monitor stand came in as I then had an extra DVI cable with it.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to stress that you only use with either VGA or DVI and with either a single or multi-monitor stand. cannot confirm how well VGA works, but didn't have a cable to test, nor would I downgrade a monitor's display by using VGA.
Also, don't expect have sound come out as it doesn't have built in speakers.
Had to knock off a couple eggs due to poor designs with the stand and the audio pass-through via HDMI and 3.5 audio ports. IMHO, doesn't make sense unless it had built-in speakers too.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget IPS monitor for graphic design

Pros: As a graphic designer that runs my own business, color accuracy was becoming something that I couldn't continue to ignore when it came to matching what was on screen to what my printers were producing. Many affordable monitors were oversaturated and made colors often look much richer than they actually were, or it just showed shades of reds or blues very inaccurately. After some research, I realized an IPS was the way to go if I wanted better accuracy. I ordered this monitor in 2012 and it's been one of the better investments I've made. Now, I still didn't have a lot of money to throw down on a monitor, so I pretty much found the cheapest IPS I could at the time from a reputable brand. I have been very pleased with the 3+ years I've had this. I don't have any fancy calibration tools or the time to invest to tirelessly matching Adobe color profiles, etc, but this thing has more than performed up to expectations for the price it is at without a whole lot of calibration (I did spend a little time initially setting it up to get the colors where I wanted--but it didn't take much). I have another designer that is a friend that often contracts overflow work and most of his printing jobs to me and he works on a high-end Mac that probably cost 5 times what my setup is. I've noticed that what he sees on his screen is often noticeably different from the printed product vs what I see on my screen and the finished product. The Asus IPS actually seems to produce colors MUCH closer to the finished print job. So I wouldn't really have a problem saying this thing performs better than Apple monitors that are probably 3-5 times the price. I think the matte screen also helps a lot, as it cuts down on the oversaturated effect and doesn't trick the eyes with the reflections you will see in many other monitors (especially super-glossy Apple ones), nor does it give you as much color variation depending on the viewing angle as you move up/down or left/right – it stays pretty true to color regardless of the viewing angle (within reason).

Cons: Nothing worth taking a star off over. I guess if I was nit-picking, I would like the plugs to face down, but that’s just a preference based on having an Ergotron sit/stand station that makes it hard to get the cable plugs in because of the mount on the stand. But that’s just very particular to my scenario and took a little extra finesse to make work.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for better color accuracy on a budget. I can’t speak much to the refresh rate and how it would function with gaming, but for my uses, it’s been great. There are probably better monitors out there for true color accuracy if you or your business has the budget for it, then by all means, go for it. But for someone like me that needed to spend as little as possible while still having the tools I need to run a dependable business, this thing has been a perfect fit.

2 out of 5 eggsHDMI stopped working after 3 years

Pros: Great size and quality is OK, picture is actually pretty great

Cons: HDMI connection Input inside monitor went bad after 3 years and 4 months of use.
Now the screen is kind of useless for me and I wish I could replace it,

Other Thoughts: I wish it lasted at least 5 years but 3 years is decent and I cant complain too much.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quality monitor. Runs cool to the touch, colors look great. Only downside is LEDs are bright. But that's a knock against LEDs in general. You can crank down the brightness and it's not an issue. I liked this monitor so much I bought a second one.

Cons: One star off for it getting winged in shipping. 1 pixel light in back is out, giving it a black smudge near the top of the screen. A few years went by before realizing. I considered an RMA, but there's a local spot that has the light diode sheet, because it's a common size. Was cheaper with this method.

Other Thoughts: Run a solid white screen and look for errors. Then rinse repeat with Red, Green, Blue, Yellow. They are packing more and more pixels on these screens, a single broken dot is getting pretty hard to notice.

3 out of 5 eggsgood monitor but has flaws

Pros: Good sizes monitor, good price, ips, pretty good size (23inches)
Ips panel is a huge pro. I absolutly hate TN panels and they make me want to throw up so having the colors look the sae at any angel is really nice.

Cons: this monitor says 75hz for its refresh rate but you can only use the 75hz on 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions like 1280x1024 and since this is a 1080p, 23in, 16:9 monitor, using 1280x1024 resolution looks like garbage. I purchased this monitor thinking the 75hz was gona look awesome in games (which it does but at the cost of nice sharp edges or screen stretching. This monitors color setting by defult are also pretty bad compared to others but if you mess with the monitor settings then it looks a lot better i have the contrast set to 70 and stauration set to 65 and it looks way better then defult.

Other Thoughts: was really counting on that 75hz to compliment my 980 ti until that new ultra widescreen asus rog monitor comes out.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Nathan,

I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your monitor's refresh rate 75hz which requires you to use aspect ratio resolutions like 1280x1024 and the inconvenience it caused you. I understand how frustrated you are because you cannot get 75hz on 1920x1080 resolution on this monitor. 2 out of 5 eggsCan't Stand It

Pros: Great display and good features

Cons: This thing WOBBLES LIKE MAD. I don't know how they can make this monitor with a clean conscious. It's a 23.5 inch monitor being supported on a mount about the size of a quarter, at the very bottom, middle of the base. It wobbles anytime I type. If you hit your desk, it's going to shake like crazy. I will be returning this thing for sure. You'd think that they would try to support the monitor higher up in the middle back. There's no stability.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: picture quality is amazing.... i was not expecting such a big difference switching to and IPS display. The color quality is amazing, its like experiencing HD for the first time. typical unboxing experience... easy to set up etc... i got 3 of them and QA is fine for the ones i have, they all seem to have a high build quality.

Cons: I specifically got my monitors to mount to a VESA compatible wall mount. im new to the wall mounting but the plate on my mount interferes with the display input on the back. idk if this is a design flaw in the monitor or if i just have a large mounting plate on my VESA mount but luckily im a country boy and dont mind cutting off some metal but normally this would be a problem...

Other Thoughts: LOVE 'EM

5 out of 5 eggsBarebones Value

Pros: This monitor is as good as it gets without adding any superfluous features. Colors are much more accurate than my old TN panels, and the monitor can get very bright. It's reliably served me for a few years, and has consistently looked great.

Cons: The bezel is around 3/4" wide, and I wouldn't recommend it in multi-monitor setups. Black levels are a little high. Not all modes have all options available for image tweaking.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a good-looking exterior and lots of extras, this monitor is not for you. If all you care about is a high-quality panel, this monitor is a fantastic value.
