Cons: Worked fine for 18 months of use of about 6 hours/week and then died.

The monitor stopped displaying video from the computer.

When plugged into a system the computer sees the monitor is there and sends it video, but nothing displays. Same result with all four inputs; dvi, vga, hdmi, & DP. Same result with multiple computers and cables that all work fine with other monitors.

The monitor will happily display it's built in test patterns and menus, but will not display any video input into it.

Other Thoughts: I had to go through a maze of phone numbers at ASUS, each message giving me a new number to call. My initial contact with customer service is not encouraging. I will now see if their warranty is any good.

Pros: If the screen works... It has great color and lots of inputs, The ability to turn the monitor portrait is great for reading instructions while working on another monitor.

Cons: I bought 2, one had a defect with the control buttons that made the volume button always depress even when not being pushed.

I called ASUS support for warranty work, they wanted me to give them $50 to take a look at it.

ASUS, that is the last thing I buy from you

Other Thoughts: The speakers are rather poor sounding, even on the working one.

On the the non-working one, well they don't work.

This was evident from the first day I bought it. I only waited this long to write this because I wanted to see if the other one had any problems.

Holds paper from blowing away on my desk.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to have an extra for when we need to get someone set up quickly. I didn't check it when I got it. Pulled it out of the box today, and nada. Dead on arrival.

Pros: Good bright colors.
Heavy, sturdy and seems well built. Excellent adjustable stand.
Does not wobble very much or at all really.
Makes the games pretty to look at.

Other Thoughts: First time pc builder here so I'm not much of an expert on the topic of monitors but I was very satisfied with this purchase. Still am.
Bought this to replace my old BenQ FP91G+ that my brother gave me. It was old but still i still keep it as a second monitor.

Pros: Looked great while it worked.

Cons: Monitor displayed only green after a power outage. Monitor menu screen looks normal and is displayed in correct colors. If I turn on the Splendid Demo Mode, it'll display half the screen with the correct color but the other half is still only green. Tried it again two weeks later and it was back to normal, only to fail again back to all green.

As for Asus support, it's a complete joke. Could only get someone through chat and it usually took an hour with no resolution. The delay between their responses was usually 10 minutes. Finally was told they'd replace it. It never came and when I contacted them through chat again (another hour) they had no record of it and then their system was down. Next time they said they didn't have a replacement monitor in stock. Last time I buy an Asus product ever.

Pros: I got this monitor as a downsize from a HP lp2475w (which I bought for almost nothing), partly because I thought at the time a smaller monitor would be less cumbersome. The color is impressive, though it involves a bit of tinkering if you're meticulous (check other reviews). That said, it's ideal for certain images.

The pivot/swivel works pretty seamlessly too. Also, for the connectors on the back, you're getting a nice deal here.

Cons: Oh boy, where to begin. The speakers are awful, but no one buys these for the speakers right?

The color options don't really seem to change much, or lack the ability to be precise (a bit too plain for the price and intent of the monitor). I imagine many people buying a monitor like this NEED precision with color that they see.

Why the 2 eggs out of 5, you might wonder? Well only a few months in, I suddenly had a red tint appear on the right side of the screen (red lines moving under the screen to be exact). I checked with several different connectors, cables weren't an issue (HDMI, DP, DVI). I tried the laptop on a friend's monitor, no red tint there!

Ultimately it seemed something internal in the monitor was failing. As I write, I'm seeming the same red tint on the right side of the monitor.

Other Thoughts: Ultimately I switched back to the HP lp2475w. It's just not easy to lose the screen real estate from 24" to 23", and it might seem ridiculous, but it's noticeable. Plus, the old HP just can connect to anything.

Despite the 2 eggs, I didn't dislike this product. I like ASUS (my laptop is a g55vw), I'm building a new pc with a X79 Sabertooth Mobo, but unfortunately this monitor went bad. I would have RMA'd it, but it wasn't worth the trouble at the beginning of my graduate school's first year. Also, the monitor went bad past Newegg's RMA date.

Pros: IPS Display, running at 1920x1080. IPS meaning that you'll get very good picture quality out of the box much better than that of your standard TN type displays. If you're looking for an accurate picture you'll need one of these. The bezel on this display is very nice, great if you want to buy multiple displays and put them side by side. The speakers are passable for what is supposed to be a desktop display, and they seem to come from the bottom bezel of the display and point downward toward the desk.

Cons: The black level is not that great to be honest and it MASSIVELY needs to be calibrated out of the box. The red is too bright, and needs to be adjusted down, once that is done, it's easily in line with some of the best displays out there. I'm very hard on the monitors that I buy when it comes to picture quality, and color representation, It kinda goes without saying, but it's head and shoulders above any TN display you'll find.

Other Thoughts: I need to test if the USB ports will work on the side even when the USB passthrough is not plugged in. It'd be nice to be able to plugin a phone to charge without having to connect that cable.

Pros: -Great Colors on bright images
-Pivot, swivel, and tilt work nicely.

Cons: -Terrible blacks... they are too dark and crushed together.
-Poor speakers, they are only there to jack up the price.
-Limited menu options, you won't be able to adjust all that much.
-All of the alternative display settings are terrible.
-The infamous IPS "glow" is highly noticeable with this monitor. Its very distracting, and it create poor viewing angles in dark scenes.

Other Thoughts: This is a bad monitor in general. If you want a great IPS monitor, I would recommend spending slightly more so you don't end up with something mediocre like this.
