4 out of 5 eggsTri Monitor Setup

Pros: Bright
Even color tone for Tri setup
No light bleed
Thin border

Cons: After about 3 months I started noticed dead pixels on one of the 3 that I bought.
The screens are not even when you set them next to one another but that's noting I expected to be perfect.
Speakers are garbage FYI

Other Thoughts: I wanted to have a tri-monitor set up for my flight simulators. After a good few weeks of looking for monitors that have a thin border. I decided to get these, and boy am I glad I did the borders are thin and it works great as a 3 monitor set up.

Had to RMA one because the power button would not push in thus not allowing me to turn the monitor on. Swapped out fairly fast.

I recommend this monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's Decent

Pros: thin bezel, very bright, decent color accuracy, the stand and monitor look great.

Cons: On some games like the Witcher 3 and Far Cry 4 it has more noticeable ghosting on the monitor where there are darker textures or shaded areas. However on some games like Assassin's Creed Rogue and Dead Space, I couldn't notice the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat 27 inch monitor; great value

Pros: was looking for a large 'bring it in myself ' monitor for work. the 17 inch crud they hand out makes one go blind.

I already brought in a 22 inch, but wanted larger, so looked for 27 inch.

good reviews of this monitor, and a special deal and rebate, made it look like a good deal - IT WAS !

great color,
no defects,
great ability to modify settings,
nice buttons for adjustments,
solid stand

Cons: that I can't justify buying a second one...

Other Thoughts: I am very picky when it comes to things like monitors. I look at one for at least 8 hours every day at work. I LOVE THIS MONITOR. That is all I can say.

for those who wrote the negative reviews about color or grayscale, etc, people have to realize that you can't just plug it in and expect it to be perfect for 'you' - that is why it has so many adjustments.

spend some time to get the brightness down to where it is easy on your eyes.

check out the different built in settings - I found that 'standard' with brightness down to around 50 worked for me. I am still playing with the other adjustments as the days go by.

check out the many free monitor calibration websites as well.

overall, a great monitor. that it is also a great buy is just a nice side benefit.

said another way, I am hard to please. I am pleased with this monityor; enough said

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Big
Sleek Frame
Beautiful Colors (digital vibrance looks incredible turned up now)
Display Port!

Cons: 5 ms response time (serving as my right panel monitor in a 3-way setup, so this doesn't bother me)

Other Thoughts: I have 3 monitors + 1 TV above the 3 currently for my setup. This monitor serves on the right panel and is absolutely amazing. Looking to replace my 24" Asus on the left with another one of these to have 3 27's.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but it took a while

Pros: Uniform color between each monitor (I got two). Great bang per buck. Games look great (after a lot of twiddling).

Cons: osd controls are on the back of the monitor accessed from the bottom. Set the monitor to sRGB or Standard and adjust everything else with the color control panel of your video card.

Other Thoughts: At first these monitors were like staring into the sun. I tried the OSD controls for a while, but they're REALLY uncomfortable if you keep trying different settings, interface to OSD was not intuitive at first, but just read the hints at the bottom and you'll be fine. I gave up on the OSD, set it to Standard or sRGB and then used the nvidia control panel to fix the Brightness and color issues. I had to turn the brightness to 35% and contrast to 0% on each monitor (at least they're uniform, right?) Still the color was Cartoonish. I had "Digital Vibrance" at 100% on my previous monitors and that was fine. on these I had to turn it down to 50%. With those settings, I finally was happy with these monitors.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Such Great Luck (Updated Review)

Pros: Very bright colors. (Can get even brighter than the standard mode by editing via OSD.)

Very thin frame on the monitor.

The base of the monitor is pretty small so I didn't have any trouble fitting this on my desk.

Quite decent OSD settings.

Removable back panel for easier access to connect cables. Also comes with quite a few cables of various connection type.

Cons: I bought 3 of these monitors:

1 monitor has at least 1 pixel that is darker than the rest.

1 monitor has at least 5 pixels that are darker than the rest.

1 monitor has at least 1 dead pixel... so buyers beware here... this means that I basically need to RMA all three monitors in order to have another crack at the roulette.

The VividPixel setting under the Image tab in the OSD was causing my overall picture quality to be degraded. By turning off the VividPixel setting (0 value) I was able to get a very nice picture.

The VividPixel setting seems to be a sort of sharpness setting. I found the default setting too high even though it was only one tick from a setting of zero.

The pixel density (I think) on this monitor leaves something to be desired, but still a great picture quality for the price.

It seems like most of the hardware (?) of this monitor is inside near the bottom of the frame, so that area of the monitor gets quite warm.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Zero Neutral,

I am sorry to read about your experience with the three new ASUS LCD monitors you purchased. If you are still within Newegg's return policy, I would contact them to get an even exchange. Unfortunately, ASUS only covers LCD's in warranty that have 3 or more dead pixels for this particular LCD model. I do apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me at with case number N150414774.

Thank you for being a loyal ASUS customer!

Best regards,
ASUS Customer Loyalty

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but be careful

Pros: Great Screen size for a 1080

Very Sharp for its pixel density, If you aren't looking for it you wont notice it.

Different settings and some what easy enough menu.

Different Inputs with an input button.

Sturdy compared to my Samsung monitor I traded in for 2 of these. They have a heavy metal stand, great to keep still and they look nice. Unlike my Samsung that was plastic.

Thin bezel is under half an inch just about all around, bottom bezel is just a smig over and 1/2.

Nice rear end look. Great if not against a wall since it hides all the connections and has a nice look.

Comes with speakers as a little bonus. ( dont think of using them as a primary tho)

No bleeding issues or dead pixels on both the monitors I bought. ( there was an issue tho. See Cons )

Great Prize for what they are.

They basically come with almost any connection youll need. They came with (inbox)

Great for games I play, no issues what so ever.

Power connectors are straight so they don't get in the way of each other when using a power strip.

Cons: RMA Issues as many have said. I bought 2 monitors and 1 was fine and the other had an issue with black level. Newegg RMA took care of it and now I wait for the replacement.

Small tilt to the right but if you aren't purchasing more than 1 and placing it as a dual or more set up, you wont notice it. Also if you're thinking of using a vesa stand you'll be fine.

Speakers are just horrible, I tested them and Oh My they are horrible. They get the job done if you don't really care for audio at all. These are more of a small perk more than anything since I didn't expect speakers.

When I shut off my PC the monitors give off a blue screen before shutting down, not really an issue, but it messes with me sometimes when I forget. Also when starting up the monitors start up at different times.

Other Thoughts: DONT REBATE BEFORE YOU TEST YOUR MONITOR. Newegg will honor your rebate even if your RMA is still being looked at past the rebate deadline.

Over all if you're looking for a good budget monitor, this is it. Just make sure you have time to deal with RMA if you have to. Test the monitor the moment you get it. This is what I like using.( ) Just let Newegg know through chat or phone and they'll send you a label to slap on and send off to the. No charge just time consuming. My RMA took 2 weeks roughly for them to receive, accept, and ship my replacement. But i live only 200 miles away from their warehouse. I tried to get the label by my self and almost paid for it so just get on the chat with newegg and they'll take care of you.

This bezel makes it so that my webcam gets in the way of the screen just slightly . I've gotten used to it now.

As far as the image quality, you'll basically have to test them to make sure they are up to par with what you want.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS monitor

Pros: This is nice. It is my first ASUS monitor and it is performing very well.

Cons: The only thing that I did not like is the DVI port. The quality of the picture was not good, could not get it to look right. But on the HDMI port wow, yes a big difference in picture quality. Did not try the RGB port but it works great to.
