5 out of 5 eggsGreat for multi screen or single screen setup's

Pros: First as title says great for multi screen setups. , It has VESA mounts for monitor stands or wall mounting. Tiny Bezels under half inch except for bottom one which is slightly larger.

Lots of screen real estate and did I say tiny bezels yet ??. Excellent picture and several picture modes. The same as Asus uses in most all of there monitor panels. RBG mode, Scenery mode, theater mode, Game mode, Standard mode and Night view. I seem to prefer theater mode myself. The speakers that they come with are good for what you are getting. I guess what I am trying to say is they are not bad for built in speakers and will do in a pinch.

Full HDMI and the blacks are magnificent. I have 3 of these panels. Interestingly this is the same panel as the Asus VN279QL, the only difference between the VN2769Q and the VN279QL is the much nicer stand that comes with the L model and the L model also comes with every CABLE, Display port, HDMI, Display port to DVI and HDMI to mini HDMI. The price difference between the two is usually 20 bucks however in my opinion if you are going to use the stock stand and not mount them the extra 20 dollars is well spent on the nicer stand and cables. My 3 are on a triple stand. They are nice and thin for panels without power bricks. I have yet to see any light bleed or bad, dead, stuck pixels.

One last comment is that I think Asus monitors seem to be of very nice quality I have these 3 27 inch panels and I have also purchased 3 24" inch monitors Asus VH238 and all 6 Asus monitors worked flawlessly out of the box and continue to do so. No stuck/dead pixels on any of them. That's pretty good no matter what your expectations are.

Cons: I guess the lack of a DVI port is my biggest gripe. Also if you are going to wall mount the on/off and controls are on the bottom back of the panel so you would need to have a little gap to get your fingers behind there to turn it on/off and or change settings. Personally I don't like they come with speakers but that's a small gripe.

Other Thoughts: Over all I have 99% good things to say about these panels, I watch a ton of movies and play my PC games deep into the night, Very pleased with these monitors. Buy this or the VN27Q model when they are on sale and rebate to keep costs under 300 bucks. The Asus rebate is 30 dollars and well worth sending in. Also just follow the instructions and the Rebate process works great

5 out of 5 eggsBeauty at its peak

Pros: For a 27" Monitor to have such a slim bezel is amazing for me. the picture quality is also gorgeous, Deep Black's, Vibrant Colors. and the last thing I cant forget is the Price Tag. I paid $209.99 for this beauty.

Cons: none so far, will update review if i come across any.

Other Thoughts: The stand, its textured. which hols dust among other things. maybe making it a completely Gloss finish would benefit it design.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitors

Pros: Needed 2 monitors for my desk at work and wanted something larger, and after looking at a few 27" monitors I decided on these. They are amazing for the price point, great colors and lots of options as far as picture goes. The thin bezel really makes it look nice when they are side by side. I put some black electrical tape between the two so there is no light bleed between them, very sharp and sleek look.

Picture quality is great, and using some 3840x1080 desktop backgrounds in tile mode really looks amazing on these 27" monitors.

No light bleed from the backlight, colors look great.

Cons: Did have to make some adjustments to the settings to get it looking correct. There are 2 options in the settings, 'Trace Free' and 'VividPixel'. Putting both of these settings to 0 fixed the weird pixelated look and fixed some color issues. Also had an issue with the actual colors not matching between monitors, but that was fixed by going into my Nvidia control panel and just putting the settings to default and hitting apply, so I don't think that had anything to do with the monitor.

Only other issue was that the monitors weren't exactly lined up as far as rotation, so I had to use that electrical tape to keep them level. It was not off by much, maybe 1-2mm but enough to bother my OCD.

Other Thoughts: Please turn off 'Trace Free' and 'VividPixel' before writing a negative review about these monitors, it really fixes a lot of the issues most people complain about.

Even with the small issues, no eggs need to be docked. Plan on buying a 3rd

5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor I've ever owned

Pros: Thin bezel makes my other 27" Samsung look ancient.
Includes every sort of cable imaginable, DisplayPort, HDMI to USB (for medialink), HDMI, VGA, and power.

Cons: No refurbished model yet.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this monitor on (undisclosed bidding site with the word 'bay' in it) for cheap because it was missing part of the stand. I am using this with a wall mount, so it was a non-issue. The NewEgg price is a bit high, but I would say it is well worth it if you have the extra cash to spend. I am going to watch very closely for NewEgg to list these as refurbished, then I will probably buy a couple more for multiple displays.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this Piece Of Junk

Pros: Low priced. Thin bezel

Cons: Poor display quality, colors are washed out and contrast doesn't balance,(I tried adjusting everything), No DVI input, Buttons are on the rear of monitor, making it difficult to use OSD menu. Power indicator light is a little too bright.

Other Thoughts: Wow, a thirty-six buck restocking fee!
I own 4 other monitors, KDS, ASUS, Samsung, 22", 24", 32", 40". My other ASUS monitor VE 247H, has a much clearer picture and the colors are truer.

Overall, I rate this ASUS VN279Q a POJ, Piece of Junk!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Huge screen! The biggest monitor I have purchased so far. Thin bezel. Nice crisp text. Blu ray movies look great blacks are fantastic. I really love this monitor.

Cons: No DVI!!! I should have payed more attention before I bought it.

Other Thoughts: As for the fellow referring to this monitor having the quality of a tube tv.... He did something wrong. Either the resolution is incorrect or he has the ASUS VividPixel at 100. I recommend turning VividPixel off.
The only time I use this feature is for some games that could use a bit of sharpness and color boost and for anime..... VividPixel at 75 makes 1080p anime look great. Other wise it is useless and makes text unreadable, really can have a negative impact on quality.

3 out of 5 eggsASUS monitors, issue with AMD video card over HDMI

Pros: large screen.

Cons: This monitor has compatibility issue with AMD video card over HDMI. It can't show full screen with about 1" black edge and display also blurry. No issue when using Display port cable. No issue when connected to Intel or nVidia video card over HDMI.

I also can't get integrated speaker work via included audio cable.

1 out of 5 eggsQuality of a tube TV from 2001

Pros: Beautiful looking display, when it's OFF. Sleak design and pretty looking narrow edges around the screen.

Cons: Absolutely bloody awful picture quality, in all forms of connectivity. VGA looks better than HDMI because HDMI really brings out the flaws in the picture.

This screen is absolutely AWFUL. It reminds me of back in the day when I hooked up my computer to my 32" Sony Trinitron tube TV. The text has jagged edges and the entire Windows OS looks like trash.

I wouldn't recommend this to ANYbody if you don't want your eyes strained after 1 month of use. It's my office computer screen and my biggest regret of 2014 so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Quality

Pros: Thin bezel, no dead pixels, DisplayPort.

Cons: Wobbly stand, typical monitor speakers.

Other Thoughts: Really good monitor for the price. I hate to knock off an egg because of the stand but it sucks.
