1 out of 5 eggsDisapointed

Pros: Adjustable stand.
Very high resolution is quite nice but access to it is limited by available sockets.

Cons: Colors are not as nice as my very old Apple Cinema 30" display. Video card cable plugs are located in very difficult to reach area. One Display Port socket and a two small MHL sockets. The small MHL sockets reduce functionality for those of us who would like an additional and switchable DP socket or at least a HDMI full sized socket. Overall I am disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy

Pros: Worked at 1080p for about 5 months.

Cons: 4k artifacts and pops since day 1. Thought it was a driver issue so waited. Tried multiple hdmi 1.2 cables. The issue's have not gone away so have had to use the monitor at 1080p for the past 6 months in order to actually use the monitor. Intermitten issue where I have had to unplug and replug in the monitor to get it to respond. Just this weekend the monitor now no longer receives signal from HDMI 1.2 port no matter what I do. Not to mention 4k isn't really interesting at 28". Do not buy this monitor.

1 out of 5 eggsWORST MONITOR

Pros: works at 30hz via HDMI

Cons: I ADVISE ANYONE ELSE NOT TO PURCHASE THIS MONITOR. IT WORKS GREAT WITH HDMI BUT ONLY AT 30HZ WHEN YOU CONNECT IT VIA DISPLAY PORT AND SWITCH TO DP 1.2 TO GET THE 60hz REFRESH RATE THIS IS WHERE ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. MONITOR GOES BLACK AND DOESN'T COME BACK OR IT COMES BACK JUST TO GO BLACK WITH A LOUD POP AND JUST GOES TO NO DISPLAY SIGNAL. I DID AN RMA PAYED FOR SHIPPING COSTS AND GOT A BRAND NEW MONITOR JUST TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. I ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER ASUS PRODUCT. i AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THESE ISSUES EITHER DO A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR THIS MONITOR. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NEWEGG THEY ARE GREAT BUT WITH ASUS SELLING FAULTY MONITORS THAT CLEARLY WERE NOT TESTED AND ARE FALSELY SOLD AS 60HZ MONITORS WHEN THEY CANT EVEN SUPPORT THAT REFRESH RATE WITHOUT HAVING ISSUES. (WRITING THIS REVIEW MONITOR WENT BLACK 9 TIMES.)

Other Thoughts: DONT BUY, STAY AWAY

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Monitor

Pros: - Large screen
- Great picture quality

Cons: - The buttons behind the monitor make it difficult to navigate.

Other Thoughts: This is a great monitor if you're wanting to do 4K gaming. Fast response time (1ms) and a beautiful picture.

3 out of 5 eggsLikely my last purchase from asus.

Pros: Good resolution, sturdy stand, solid construction.

Cons: On my third day of owning this, I noticed a single dead pixel on the left side of the screen. This is a black dot, and as such is not covered under the zero bright dot policy. For a monitor with a suggested retail price of 700 dollars, this is completely unacceptable.

Other Thoughts: I cant send this monitor back to newegg because I am going to be out of state for the next month without access to the monitor. Previously, I had an Asus motherboard fail in a bizarre way and an asus tablet with bright dots. When I contacted support, they tried to charge me 200 dollars to fix the tablet, eventually agreed to honor the warranty, and then shipped it back with half of the touchscreen non-functional. I dont know why I gave asus another chance after that.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Eric,

I am so sorry to read about your experience with ASUS's RMA and service support. Please email me at cl-jolene@asus.com with reference case number N150533590. I would be more than happy to turn this negative experience into a more positive one for you. We greatly appreciate your continued business with us. And I am more than happy to help assist you with all of your ASUS needs.

5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor i have owned

Pros: Color is outstanding. I have 3 monitor set up with a big screen as well. My other monitors are 2K and this is the first 4K. They sit side by side and the color difference stands out and it works great for gaming.

Cons: It auto sets all the frames to 30 FPS i have to set each game to 60 and it runs like a charm. My other two monitors are set to 144 FPS and beside the drop in FPS this monitor its great

Other Thoughts: worth the money, i still game first person shoots on my 144hrz but all other games are on this monitor and its outstanding

5 out of 5 eggsI love this monitor

Pros: The colors and clarity are awesome compared to my Samsung 1080p monitor. Text is sharp and clear and I have a ton of screen real estate.

Gaming is awesome on this, I have a GTX 980 so I can play at higher settings.

Cons: I hate the buttons on the back. I am used to them now but the first few times, especially the first time (and when you are excited to try the display). This is not enough to take an egg off because after 3-4 times it becomes easier.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you use display 1.2 to get 60hz.
Windows will scale nicely at 150%

My Setup
CPU: Intel Core i7-5960X
Memory: ADATA XPG Z1 64G
Motherboard: ASRock X99 WS-E

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent TN Based 4K Display

Pros: Price
Style
Functionality
60Hz

Cons: No Gsync support
Only 1 Display Port for 60Hz
Buttons on the back side of the panel really are a pain until you get used to them.

Other Thoughts: I was really worried about the quality of this panel as I am used to IPS panels, until it arrived. Absolutely stunning. Yes, there is some noticeable color shift... if you're looking for it. I use this monitor at my desk of course, and from my bed watching TV shows and movies. Unless you are trying to find the TN faults you really won't notice them. The viewing angle is absolutely great for a TN panel.

5 out of 5 eggsThis monitor will cause my divorce.

Pros: Amazing display real estate.
Looks incredible, even for a TN Panel.
World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo 3 all look night and day better than on a 1080p monitor.

Cons: Price.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you turn on display port 1.2 in the monitor settings. This monitor was an upgrade from an Asus VGA23AH 60hz IPS Panel. I can tell you without a doubt, I wish I would've upgraded sooner. I can't imagine going back to 1080p. I'm using an Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 SC EVGA video card. I had to use the EVGA PrecisionX 16 software to downclock my video card 106 mhz on the memory and the core clock in order to prevent crashing in World of Warcraft WOD @ 60hz. Hopefully an Nvidia driver update addresses this issue. This would occur on good and ultra settings with vsync enabled and max foreground FPS unchecked. Make sure you set the monitor to 60hz in World of Warcraft and windows display settings for the monitor, otherwise your mouse will move slowly accros the desktop.

My Setup:

ntel Core I5 3570k @ 3.4ghz
16gb ddr3
ASRock 4 Extreme z77 SLI/Crossfire mobo
Single EVGA Geforce GTX 970 SC(downclocked 106mhz to prevent crashing in WoW WoD).
Intel 520 120gb SSD 8.1 x64
Asus PB287Q @ 60hz using Displayport 1.2 cable and setting turned on in monitor.
Corsair 700 watt PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsMonitor is good but software is not ready to work with 4k resolution

Pros: Monitor is good and works well.

Cons: Unfortunately, current software (Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk 3ds Max, etc) is not ready for the 4k resolution yet. Many programs have a hard coded interfaces and do not allow to change interface scale. If you plan to work with some specific software then make sure to check its forums or tech support to confirm it supports 4k resolution before you buy a 4k monitor. I was not luck in this matter. I hope software developers will update their programs very soon or release of Windows 10 will help to solve this problem.

Other Thoughts: I think 28" monitor screen is not enough for the 4k resolution. I would like to have it bigger.
