5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Media and Gaming Monitor

Pros: I absolutely love this monitor for use of productivity (the high resolution allows this to be a proper work monitor) and especially as a console gaming screen. The 1ms input lag cannot be understated, it is amazing and necessary.

Cons: I have only one small con and that would be button placement. I truly don't have any problem with it NOW as I have gotten used to the placement but initially it is cumbersome.

4 out of 5 eggsSpeedy delivery. Worked right out of the box.

Pros: Does everything it's supposed to do. Lol, what more do you want?
This baby is so big I got rid of my 46' TV and will be using it for all video tasks from now on. A 32' screen would make me turn my head to see all the action to it's the perfect size until VR replaces your eye balls.

Cons: There was a plastic guard on the back of the monitor that prevented plugging anything in. A yank and a toss solved that annoyance.
There is a smudge just to the right of center. It looks like a oily finger mark but will not wash off. It's really only noticeable when looking at a static page like the desktop, but forever more that smudge is going to be catching my eye and putting a frown on my face.
It is not enough to try and get a replacement (even if they would cover that defect).

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this monitor. I just wish their QA had caught this before it left the factory.

2 out of 5 eggsNot the 4K monitor you're looking for...

Pros: Well, the stand is sturdy and easy to maneuver. 4K @ 30Hz looked good I guess?

Cons: Huge dead pixel right out of the box. Given the other reviews, it seems that Asus has some serious QA issues going on with this monitor line. Also, was unable to get it to operate at 60Hz in 4K. I'm pretty tech savvy and tried multiple steps that others recommended here on Newegg and other web sites, to no avail.

Other Thoughts: Returning this to Newegg for a different brand, but same type of monitor. Hoping and expecting better results. Newegg, as always, was awesome to work with.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsgood monitor but don't let fancy desription fool you

Pros: 4k, fast refresh. great picture, very light weight, option for wall mounting a plus and the stand is sturdy

Cons: not freesync or gsdync ready, buttons on back bad design, in window 8.1 and windows 10 no driver uses generic setting, asus and Microsoft need to get this fixed. 10 bit color only works if card support it.

Other Thoughts: brought 2 of these monitor, one keep going black while on desktop every 90 seconds, while in games every 10 seconds
reload video driver slowed the problem down, tried other connection on video card no change. returned to seller, they are sending me a emplacement. They are good eggs!!!

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing monitor - early adopter beware!

Pros: This is simply an amazing display. It's perfect for gaming @ 4K assuming you have the hardware to push the graphics.
The colors are vivid and crisp.

Cons: Early Adopters beware - your favorite game may have UI scaling issues. The resolution is so high you high that you won't be able to read the text in games if they don't scale right. I simply think this is because 4K isn't quite mainstream in gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsQA problems

Pros: Lots of pixels, small bezel.

Cons: Bought two of these. Both came with multiple dead pixels, QC on these panels must be atrocious. I opened a ticket with Asus and have yet to hear back.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA WILL NOT BUY ASUS PRODUCTS AGAIN

Pros: None. Unit was dead on arrival.

Cons: Unit was dead on arrival.
I paid extra money for 3 day shipping too, and Newegg instead of shipping back a replacement monitor just refunded the cost of the monitor, minus shipping.
Thanks newegg :-)

5 out of 5 eggsHands down the best monitor I've ever had

Pros: So, I built a high end gaming/art computer.
I needed a new monitor.

Saw this, for $500 *and* it being ASUS (a highly renowned monitor brand) I figured, why not?

Let me tell you.
I am absolutely blown away by 4k, and this monitor.

Speakers are good. It rotates. Many different inputs. It just works.

The picture quality is absolutely BEYOND gorgeous.

I was debating ONE of this (4k 60hz), or THREE monitors ( 1080p,144hz)

I'm much more pleased with this 4k.

Cons: If you're in the market for this, I doubt you're buying it for the speakers.
I bought this before I got a logitech sound system, so I used the monitors speakers.

It's kinda canny, bass isn't there, but it's sound. Not really a con, it about what you would expect from monitor speakers.

The button placement is kinda weird, behind the monitor, and the UI is awkward to navigate, but once you set up the monitor, you'll never need to do it again, so it's a non-issue

Other Thoughts: I really can't think of anything to make this monitor better. It has everything you'd ever want.

I will say, before you go into the market for a 4k, MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER CAN HANDLE IT. Running 4k is like running a 2x2 grid of 1080p monitors.

I can game 1080p literally any game on the market at 100% max settings.

Most games I can only do normal to high at 4k. I have 16gigs DDR4 memory and a 980GTX.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for 4K gaming!

Pros: There is alot of adjustment in the stand, Screen is crystal clear, and Can get 60hz.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Going from 1080p to 4K is alot, Bought this along with dual GTX 980 TI's and games run great, I would not recommended going to 4K without a very good graphics card, I upgraded huge on my graphics card and I am getting the same FPS with 4K as I was with 1080p.

All around this is a great monitor, ASUS makes great products unless they break, There support is no good at all.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Monitor

Pros: Adjustable Height, Tilt, Swivel.
4k Display (3840x2160)

Cons: Very MINOR, but you need to be aware of it:
By default the monitor comes pre-set for DisplayPort 1.1, and this matters because DisplayPort 1.1 does not support 3840x2160 @ 60Hz, it only support 30hz. To enable the 60hz you need to go to "Menu -> System Setup -> DisplayPort Stream" and set it from "DP 1.1" to "DP 1.2". Now I don't know if they did that for backwards compatibility on the monitor or what, but you must 100% manually configure it yourself to get the monitor display at 3840*2160@60Hz.

Other Thoughts: I really do love this thing. It's put my old 1680*1050 monitor to shame. I'm just running a GTX 970 with it, and i'll upgrade later... but yes playing a video game at 3840*2160 BLOWS 1920*1080 out of the water. It's sooo much easier to snipe with this thing ;).
