5 out of 5 eggshp27xi debranded

Pros: This is a steal at $145 shipped after rebate and amex promo.
thin bezels and overall design give it a modern look
hidden touch activated OSD controls as well as software based controls
bigger than my 25" HP 2511x TN panel it replaced
amazing display with bright screen(possible con see below) and vibrant colors
rebrandable with bit of effort ;-)

Cons: not really a con but screen is too bright at default 90% so now its lowered to 60% which is easier on the eyes...100% is like looking at the sun (j/k) but you get my drift.

some ips glow on the lower right and left corners on black background but this is to be expected on ips screens hence the term. might bother some when watching movies/games with dark scenes but I don't really notice it.

Other Thoughts: some people cringe at 1080p on a 27" monitor but I think its better for those with poor vision since everything is bigger. Also I game from time to time so I don't need a monster video card to drive a 1440p display and 1080p is just fine in gaming. Finally IPS screen is like going from a HDD to a SSD for your eyes.... I will never go back to a TN panel anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsQuite a value

Pros: Excellent color and viewing angles. Easy to set up and get running. Very easy on the eyes (if you get headaches from a higher resolution, this is the 27" monitor for you). The calibration tools available for this monitor are leaps and bounds better than what you can get for most non-professional models. At $180 for the refurb, it's almost 50% off street price for a new one.

Cons: Has the usual ugly "debranding" stickers, but you knew that when you bought it. Some goo-gone and elbow grease can fix that. Packaging is absolutely bare-bones, no included software or even setup instructions. I had no issues because I'd recently bought and set up a 25" version, but this might've been more difficult for someone who hadn't. Minor physical blemishes and scuffing, but again, you knew to expect that.

This style of monitor has a glass front that gives it a glossy appearance. This is great for color and clarity, but in a very brightly-lit room you'll suffer from some glare.

Other Thoughts: Since it's a refurb you'll want to check carefully for stuck pixels and the like, but outside of a few scuffs I found no issues. I loved my 25" one at home so much that I bought this one for design duties at work, and have not been disappointed.

I'd been using a Dell UltraSharp 27" that ran at 2560 x 1440. While a fantastic monitor with a lot of real estate and detail, I found that I continually got headaches from using it, most likely from the tiny detail. While this one might not have quite the same level of detail, it's gorgeous and very easy on the eyes.

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues

Pros: Looks great with Skyrim, Deadpool, Diablo3, and other games with no noticeable ghosting. I am also not seeing the issues with glare that others are seeing.

No dead pixels. I wish I would have purchased 2 now!!

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor at a great price

Pros: I got this as a shell shocker and for an IPS monitor of this size it was the lowest price by $50+. I have not calibrated it using a calibration tool yet, but I like that it allows RGB fine-tuning. The second one came very well packaged.

Cons: I had to send my first one back for a bad light leak on the bottom of the screen and a weird red wavy grid pattern on the screen. I think the packaging of the first one allowed the screen to get crushed slightly. There was only a strip of foam enclosing the sides, but there was an area about 18" wide the whole height of the monitor that was just free-floating in the box.

Also, it only comes with a VGA cord and my video card doesn't support that. I had to cannibalize the DVI cord from my old monitor while I waited a couple days for an HDMI cord to get here to utilize my dual-monitor setup.

Other Thoughts: I haven't cared enough to take the stickers off of the HP badging, but it's under there.

5 out of 5 eggsDebranded HP

Pros: A terrific monitor at a great price this was my second debranded HP purchase and both have been great. If you are worried about the monitor don't be. If you're worried about impressing your friends with the HP label then pay full price and buy one with the name showing.

Cons: Not set up for mounting

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Monitor

Pros: Awesome Monitor. I used to have a 23 inch vizio tv as a monitor, which I thought was nice. As soon as I started to use this monitor I noticed how crisp and clear it was compared to the tv. It is perfect. Other than the ugly black sticker on the back, but mine was easily removed.

Cons: None, unless you want to mount the monitor, because it doesn't have mounting points, but I have no plans to mount it anyway.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why they cover the brand name, but who cares It is an absolutely beautiful monitor that works great.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price point is obviously a huge pro here, $200 for a 27" monitor with these specs is a steal. Upgrade from an older Samsung T240, and while I loved that monitor seeing the two side by side put it to shame. The IPS display allows amazing viewing angles and it is considerably brighter with more vivid colors as well. Came exactly as described and I could not be more satisfied with the purchase. Also was glad to have both DVI and HDMI inputs. Physically it looks awesome, nice slim black bezel and the silver lower portion looks slick with the silver stand. The stand itself is mostly plastic but has a metal plate and feels very sturdy so no worries there.

Cons: The only spec that dropped for me was the 7ms refresh which was an increase from the 5ms on my Samsung. I have not noticed it even on high paced games so not a real con, just a statistic.

Other Thoughts: As long as you read the information about what you are purchasing this is a great buy. The DEBRANDING consists of 2 stickers on the front as well as 2 on the back, if they bother you like the did me they are easily removed. A small amount of sticky residue was left behind but an alcohol cloth took care of that with a little elbow grease. Oh and the model name which the sticker above the power button had a line drawn through it with black marker, it was hilarious and also came off with the alcohol cloth.

5 out of 5 eggsfor the price

Pros: the price. getting a 27" monitor under $200, beat that

Cons: if you care about minor scratches here and there (after all it is refurbished) go get yourself a new one for $100 more

5 out of 5 eggsReally thrilled for the price.

Pros: Exactly as advertised down to the cardboard box. When I bought it I failed to read "Debranded" and came back here to see if I'd been duped, looking for the HP logo, but I duped myself. My mistake aside, this monitor is gorgeous. I bought it on a shell shocker and I'd gladly pay the price listed as I write this. Very nice color, big viewing area. I was really surprised how light and thin it was - even more than I expected not being a measurement guy other than the display itself. If it lasts, no regrets.

Cons: I think Debranded should need to be the first word in the product description, not the last. Keep the caps. Some people won't take it in stride.

Other Thoughts: If anything goes sour I'll update this.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good...

Pros: Works
Inexpensive
Looks every bit as good as my other HP 27xi monitor

Cons: Comes with an aftermarket power brick (not HP)
Logos plastered and glued to an extreme over the original HP logos (probably an HP rule or something)

Other Thoughts: I picked this up because I already have an HP 27xi and they're getting hard to find new. So this one came up refurbished and I jumped on it! So far it's worked great... zero dead pixels and zero issues overall. My only complaint are the aftermarket logos that were glued on the original HP logos - I managed to get them off and used alcohol to scrub off the adhesive, so all is well.
