1 out of 5 eggsSTAY AWAY from Hanns-G & Hannspree!

Pros: Cheap....but you get what you pay for...

Cons: -Warranty DOES NOT COVER CERTAIN PARTS! (i.e. backlight)
-Picture quality wasn't that great, even with brightness turned up to maximum it was dimmer than my 5 year old Dell monitor.
-Color range isn't good either.
-Range of motion is very minimal.
-Hanns-G/Hannspree customer service is a joke! They are deceptive in their business practices and will not give you any support whatsoever! STAY AWAY!

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor around 2 years ago thinking I was getting a great deal. One of the biggest reasons I bought it was also because it claimed to include a "3-year warranty on parts & labor". Well this turned out to be a LIE. After less than 2 years of use, the monitor started flickering and the picture went black. Also, the color began to fade from half of the screen and it wouldn't stay on for more than 1 minute. After emailing Hanns-G explaining the problem, they immediately tried to discredit my claim and told me it was a problem with my cables. After emailing back and forth a few times, they finally told me that they had determined (how? idk) that my monitor's backlight had died and that the backlight was NOT covered by the "3-year warranty on parts and labor"

I found their customer service to be extremely poor. Right off the bat they were trying to discourage me from trying to RMA. Horrible company, I will never buy their products again!

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: nice quality for the price.

Cons: After 2 years the monitor started to hum. It wouldn't wake when my computer when to sleep (I had to turn it off then on). I also started noticing horizontal lines in the top right corner.

Other Thoughts: I called tech support and they told me I could send it in for repair. Turns out the panel is only covered for 1 year. Maybe the plastic case is covered for the full 3 years???

I will probably go with a different brand when this thing dies. I just hope it doesn't go out in a ball of flames.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful costomer service

Pros: Do NOT BUY from HANNS-G ever

Cons: Monitor started making a high frequency noise and kept switching off. Sent it for service and they repaired it and sent it back. It wasn't switching off anymore but I had two big stuck pixels and lots of small stuck pixels. Now I called them about these stuck pixels they put in and they just told me that they weren't gonna repair the problem since the LCD was only covered for a year even though their service people were responsible for creating the stuck pixels.

The customer service person was friendly but didn't do anything to solve my problem. NEVER BUY FROM THEM.

2 out of 5 eggsmeh

Pros: This monitor was cheap with 2 hdmi inputs.

Cons: Onboard sound sucked, but that was pretty much expected.

Other Thoughts: Died after a little over a year, not really worth the money in the end.

1 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: A nice price($200) as of September 2009 when compared with other products.

Cons: Not so great monitor just an average. This monitor just die on me less than two years of usage. No warning, nothing and without an extended warranty am left out in the cold.

Other Thoughts: When buying generic or little know names, better prepared to have an extended insurance or warranty. It might sound as an addition, but you never know when you might need it.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: I got 2 of these and run them in dual monitor. They look good and are big for the price.

Cons: If I adjust the brightness down then the dimmer circuit in the monitor makes a high pitched whine sound. I have to use the brightness adjustment on the video card control panel instead.

I have a spot that's starting to intermittently stick with the red pixel on one of the monitors. I have to press on it with my finger to get it unstuck.

They take a while to turn on, my computer with 2 SSD in raid-0 actually boots faster than my 2nd monitor can turn on so my desktop is up but I can't do anything on the 2nd monitor for a few seconds.

Built in speakers are bad, although I don't use them.

Other Thoughts: If you want super high end monitors don't buy these. If you want decent monitors for the price then these are pretty good.

3 out of 5 eggsOk for the price

Pros: Got this a year ago for $170. Decent picture, no stuck pixels, HDMI input.

Cons: Picture is a bit dim. Has had an issue since day 1 where the lower left quarter of the screen starts out darker than the rest of the screen but after 2-4 minutes brightens up. Has been this way since I got it. Power & menu buttons slow to respond. Monitor itself is slow to warm up, Win 7 is already on the splash screen by the time a picture shows up, have to reboot to be able to get into the BIOS when I need to. been this way too since I got it.

Other Thoughts: Just got a HH241 as my 2nd monitor and that one is much faster to warm up, has a brighter overall picture and the buttons respond right away.
Overall the HH251HBP isn't a bad deal if you can get it on sale for less than $170, but frankly the HH241 is just barely smaller and seems to be a better monitor at a lower price.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints

Pros: -Bought this monitor for $170 february of 2010. Haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood)
-Nice, big screen
-Fast Response Time

Cons: -Heavy (I have it mounted on a movable arm and it is at the upper limits of the weight requirement)
-Not as bright as other monitors (Had it next to my old dell 1280 x 1024 monitor and it was significantly dimmer

Other Thoughts: Overall, Definitely worth 5 eggs
If you're looking for a cheap, big monitor, this one's for you

3 out of 5 eggsDead pixel

Pros: Clear screen and large-sized screen

Cons: It came with a small dot of dead pixel, it's quite annoying

Other Thoughts: it would been way better without this stupid dead pixel
