5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Monitor

Pros: Stunning color, depth, clarity

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for a couple of years - it has worked flawlessly - and always produces an excellent, clear picture, no pixel dropouts, and lots of screen real-estate. Seriously good monitor for the money.

3 out of 5 eggsdoes what I need it to

Pros: It certainly works, looks decent. Usable, large, 1080p monitor at reasonable price.

Cons: Vertical viewing angle is poor, frequently find myself adjusting the tilt of the monitor. Stand is quite large, looking for better way to mount. Lighting isn't quite even, and the actual contrast (800:1) isn't great. I'd heard really good things about Hanns-G monitors, and was disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsA viable monitor option.

Pros: Nice picture/color quality when directly in front of the monitor. While there are better monitors on the market, this one is definitely a viable option for the screen size and price point.

Cons: The viewing angle is pretty much directly from the front. Of course this is where most people will be while using this product, but if you're like me and lay down to watch movies on the computer, the colors become severely distorted from all other angles. The built-in speakers don't produce loud-enough audio. There are certain times while playing games or watching movies that I have to strain to hear what is being said.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Monitor, With Flaws

Pros: No dead pixels
Good color balance
Bright display -- can handle lights without washing out

Cons: Nonstandard Vesa screw holes -- the screw holes for the vesa mount aren't deep enough to take standard VESA screws
Bad view angle -- the top strip of the monitor has slightly distorted color (especially when displaying dark colors) because I've mounted it at eye level, rather than on it's usual stand on desk level. Not an issue if you're planning to sit it on a desk so you're looking down at it, but extremely annoying if you intend to mount it so you look straight forward.

Other Thoughts: I don't know how many people try to mount monitors on swing arms for better ergonomics; if you don't, the 'flaws' more or less vanish.

4 out of 5 eggsIt is what it is

Pros: its cheap and it works well mine did. its honestly hard to find a monitor in this price range at this size so there really isnt much to complain about and ive been using the speakers on it for over a year they function they may not be name brand but they produce a little below average audio

Cons: the picture is prettty darn good... when you find the sweet spot viewing angle thats a huge pain to find, word to the wise its stand doesnt allow it to swivel much at all so dont place it up higher like how most desks for pcs have stand for the monitor it makes a huge difference with this monitor. but that is really my only problem with this monitor

Other Thoughts: i wouldnt recommend this for a 3 monitor setup because the viewing angles are pretty bad but other than that its pretty good for the price

-egg for viewing angle

1 out of 5 eggsfirst time buying Hanns-G, last time!

Pros: None, that I can tell. Cheap is not a pro when you get a non-functioning product for the low price.

Cons: Doesn't work right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: This was my first Hanns-G purchase. I has heard the name but only in passing, and given the low price, I was wary, but I figured at worst I'd be sacrificing a little image quality. Unpacked the thing, rearranged all my gear, plugged it in, fired on the PC, and half the screen is pure white, the other half has half my bootup screen. Tried rebooting, powercycling the monitor, no dice. This thing is a piece of junk. You get what you pay for indeed.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat 27in Monitor for the price

Pros: For the price this is a great 27in monitor. I have no complaints about the display. One of the reviews states they could not mount the stand, maybe you should read the installation instructions. I had the same issue until I realized that you have to remove the mounting screw before installing the stand. If this monitor last it will be a great deal. I have only been using it for a little over a week with a new custom made windows 8 PC.

Cons: There is this statement "The Hanns-G HL269DPB comes with high-quality built-in speakers for rich sound while saving precious desktop space." which is really a joke. My mobile phone has better sound then the speakers in this monitor. I am using the sound from the HDMI cable connection.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat inexpensive monitor

Pros: It seems like these things are always on sale - I got 2 of them for $150 each and feel like I stole them. All the standard brightness, contrast, color controls - might take a little tinkering to get the settings you want.

Cons: The base is pretty big. I've had bigger monitors with smaller bases than this one, so not really sure what Hanns-G was thinking here. Can be an issue if you're planning on pushing the monitor right up against a wall - it'll be a good 4-5 inches out. -1 egg.

Speakers suck, but hopefully no one buys a monitor and expects to use the speakers.

Nitpicking, but the power LED flashes when it's on standby - could get annoying if you want total darkness.

Other Thoughts: It's definitely not a high end monitor, but for the price you really can't get anything better. As long as you don't want a fancy swiveling 3D monster switching 4 digital inputs, you can't go wrong with this.

To the few it affects, keep in mind the large size of the base and there'll be no surprises here. I'm happy with the buy.
