2 out of 5 eggsmeh

Pros: nice screen size,

Cons: 1600p didn't look any better than 1080p
i put a 1080p next to a 1600p no difference.
I made sure the res was at 1600P
screen looked a little blury when viewed to close
i was sooooo dispointed.
NOT WORTH $1000

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful and works fantastically with laptop Display Port

Pros: Beautiful monitor with great viewing angles and consistent color. Extreme real estate but manageable as the pixels per inch of 2560x1600 is easier to handle at 30" than 27". Note, I was surprised to find that it INCLUDES a Display Port cable in addition to a DVI cable -- I had already ordered one from M0n0price so that was totally not necessary.

Cons: It is a bit pricey but for work the ROI is still very good. With discount I got it for $980 here at Newegg and don't regret it at all. The CCFL based display does take a little bit to reach full brightness as it warms up. Noticeable with my TN panels that pop up just about instantly, but it's really not a big deal -- only noticeable after resuming from power save mode.

Other Thoughts: I do not play any games that require high frame rates except perhaps Street Fighter IV Arcade... but I am a software developer and the advantages of this monitor are substantial. I have two samsung 23" HD monitors turned vertically on the left and right and this created a whole new work experience for me. I never imagined how much vertical monitors would help in web page reading and working with documents.

Also, I had tons of screen corruption issues for the first week, and was very unsatisfied until I started really troubleshooting before sending it back. I finally discovered that my laptop integrated AMD video card drivers had somehow gotten the power save settings out of whack. After turning on the power save features and then back OFF again to force it to refresh it suddenly stabilized and with the power save stuff out of the wasy (ie disabled) it hasn't corrupted once in nearly a month now!

5 out of 5 eggsSize Does Matter

Pros: Huge monitor, lots of screen space for multiple documents. My daughter is into Photoshop and she loves it. I game a lot mostly MMORPG games all great resolution. I bought 2 of these puppies. Highly recommended.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I replaced these with the LG 29 inch. In my opinion the right choice.

5 out of 5 eggsOooo Ahhhhh

Pros: Huge display, best resolution you can get, colors are way better than my last Dell monitor, no dead pixels.

Cons: Difficult not to drool on, need to buy a bigger desk to fit a second monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsgood for work, good for many types of games, mediocre for FPS

Pros: huge, lots of real estate, bright, nice color, good support, quality panel, 16:10

Cons: not a great choice for FPS gaming, slight ghosting, needs vsync turned on at a non-trivial performance cost, expensive to build a machine that can drive it at full resolution at high settings.

Other Thoughts: i bought this panel for a center display for work. it's a great panel for software development. i paired it with two 2007FPs in portrait mode. the vertical dimensions are very close, and the vertical resolution is the same. total resolution is 4960x1600. one could do with less, honestly.

i used to play amateur leagues in counter strike, and i would say the low performance of this monitor puts you at a disadvantage for FPS style games.

at my viewing distance i also find it too big for some types of games - i sometimes don't notice things at the sides of the screen.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor!

Pros: -2560x1600
-good color depth
-simple
-good connectivity
-solid build

Cons: -refresh rate is not 120hz
-plugging cables was painful but way worth the effort.

Other Thoughts: as for me, 120hz would make this monitor bananas. other then that, this monitor delivers!

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Display (Especially when on sale)

Pros: The overall experience of using this monitor is something to be experienced to be believed. It is simply outstanding to have this much real-estate with which to work on a day-in/day-out basis. I purchased mine after discovering how well my MacBook Air 2011 drove the same model monitor at work. When not using it for writing code and documents, it is put to the test by my main gaming rig, and it is simply breath-taking.

Cons: It gets a little warm, but with the number of pixels being served up by this beast, I'm honestly not surprised.

Other Thoughts: I was fortunate enough to get mine when they were on sale for 31% off regular price. I'm pretty tight with a dollar, and dropping sixteen c-notes was the limiting factor the prevented me from purchasing in the past. Infrequently it drops in price to $1099. If you want a 30" monitor and manage to catch them on sale for that price, don't hesitate. Just pull the trigger. You won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome monitor!

Pros: After my Dell 3007WFP had died I purchased the U3011 as it's replacement and I must say that I didn't think that the quality could have possibly gotten any better but the clarity on the U3011 is amazing.

It has no stuck or dead pixels (thankfully!) and works great for gaming as there is no ghosting.

Cons: I don't own 3!

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic monitor

Pros: This is a fantastic monitor with superior resolution. This is the best monitor I have ever owned. If you have the room for the 30 inch monitor, you can't go wrong with this one.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor that exists.

Pros: This monitor is incredible. It makes the most mundane things look great and simultaneously reveals detail (good or bad) in anything displayed on it.

Includes high quality cables.

Cons: The touch buttons can be a little frustrating. I wish there were a way to assign inputs to ONE button each.

Other Thoughts: You may read posts on forums, etc about people having trouble getting the full 2560x1600 resolution with this monitor. It isn't the monitor, it is their computer, cables, ignorance, etc. This monitor has no trouble with full resolution with both my MacBook Pro (displayport) and my PC (dual link DVI).

I can't call it a con, but this monitor is very expensive. I use it for professional graphics work, and it is worth every penny. Of course, it's also a fantastic gaming screen, but if that's what you're looking for, this may be overkill, especially given the low price of HDTVs.
