5 out of 5 eggsGlorious to behold.

Pros: Simply stunning image. Clear and bright and happy to impress.
The easiest setup I could imagine. Just snap the stand plate into the back of the monitor. It slides right in and you're off.
Windows recognized her right away. No troubles finding new drivers either.
Came with no dead pixels. A perfect screen.

Cons: It's been said, and it's sadly true, the portrait angle is awkward and brushes the bottom of the stand if it's not tilted upward.

Other than that... none. None at all.

Other Thoughts: This is the finest monitor I've ever owned.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Monitor

Pros: Sharp, non-glossy (no reflection), high resolution, no flicker, accurate color

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: This is by far the best monitor I have used. Yes its a little slower than some, but watching movies on it has been fine, both streamed and via disc. I'm not a big gamer but titles like WoW and Diablo look excellent with no noticable lag or tearing. I use Aperture and photos look amazing on it.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't think about it; just get it!

Pros: Great colors, no dead or stuck pixels. Has 2 USB pass-through ports on it. Also swivels to use in portrait mode, which is great to use with long spread sheets. 1920x1200 resolution instead of the much more common (nowadays) 1920x1080.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor to replace a Samsung 24" 1920x1200 monitor that the back light died on and boy, I am so glad I did. The Samsung was a TN panel and while it gave an OK picture, wasn't nearly as nice as the images shown on this monitor. I also like that this monitor has a 2 port USB pass-through, which lets me move a USB header's connection from the back side of the computer to the front where it is easily accessible. This Dell monitor also comes with a 3 year warranty instead of a 1 year warranty like the Samsung came with. Also, my old Samsung didn't swivel to portrait mode, which I find comes in very handy when working with longer spreadsheets and keeps me from having to scroll so much.

If you are shopping for a 24" monitor and are looking at this one then quit thinking and buy it. You won't be sorry, believe me! This monitor is really hard to pass up, especially at the >300 price I got it at.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor!

Pros: Excellent Images, brilliant colors.

Cons: Some back light bleed.

Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for a about six weeks now and this is really a great monitor. Especially at the current price of around $280 (what I got mine for). The real estate this monitor provides is incredible. It also provides brilliant colors and sharp, crisp images. There is some back light bleed, but it is only noticeable at boot time. Once Windows loads you can't see it at all. So it doesn't bother me.

I absolutely recommend this monitor. Especially at current prices of about $280. Just get it already!!!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Okay

Pros: -Great picture for value
-Swiveling and tilt is much appreciated

Cons: -No HDMI (but this was advertised)
-Even at max contrast, regular blue hyperlink text blends in strangely well to default black text. annoying, but otherwise harmless.

Other Thoughts: Just make sure you play with the settings before using. It's almost like they punch up the contrast before shipping.

4 out of 5 eggs19 to 24 inch ips upgrade

Pros: The picture is outstanding, no dead pixels, no back light bleeding. I did a lot of research prior to the purchase. The difference between a TN and an IPS panel are significant.
I am a casual gamer and I purchased the monitor with that in mind. You give up response time for clarity. I've gone from a 19 inch 2ms Samsung to a 24 inch 8ms Dell. I've noticed a slight difference when I play COD2 but no big deal. I was looking at the Samsung monitors because my 19' 906BW is still going strong but the weak 1 year warranty on Samsung monitors turned me off. If they build something they should back it up with 3 years IMO. The Dell has a 3 year, I understand that Dell support has gone down the tubes but hopefully I won't need them.

Cons: So far none.
I see a little ghosting when its black and I'm viewing from the side or from above but it doesn't bother me because I'm usually in front of the monitor.

Other Thoughts: The extra real estate on the screen is great. The picture is bright, clear and sharp.
I gave up some performance from 2ms to 8ms but I knew that going forward.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb monitor for the price

Pros: IPS panel. 16:10 aspect ratio with 1920x1200 resolution. Fully adjustable stand. The price is right.

Cons: Not the best IPS panel out there - color reproduction is not good enough for serious photography work. Lack of dedicated buttons for brightness adjustment. No speakers (but you can attach Dell’s soundbar).

Other Thoughts: This is an eIPS panel, that is 6-bit with A-FRC. So if you need perfect color reproduction, this is NOT the monitor for you. I’ve agonized long and hard and finally decided that I don’t really need Adobe RGB. In other words, for what I do, sRGB is sufficient and this monitor covers 95.8% of the sRGB color space (it covers only 74.3 of Adobe RGB).

What I do is mostly write code and occasionally do moderately advanced web graphics. And of course surf the web and watch movies. For my needs, this monitor is sufficient.

For best results, of course, you need to calibrate the monitor using a spyder.

My biggest annoyance with this monitor is the lack of dedicated buttons for brightness adjustment. I’m old enough to remember when monitors had a knob for brightness adjustment. You know, the kind that you would rotate. Buttons do not work as well, IMO, and this monitor doesn’t even have dedicated buttons for that task. So it’s a bit of a pain to adjust brightness.

Otherwise, it’s a great monitor and the 16:10 aspect ratio is a rare find nowadays as 16:9 has become the norm. But 16:10 is a better aspect ratio for general computer use, everything except movies.

Unlike some other reviewers I did get a USB cable and there is no light bleed on my monitor. No dead pixels either.

4 out of 5 eggspretty good

Pros: Good size
nice adjustable stand, can even tilt left and right without moving the base.
Good color

Cons: no USB cable in my box!! Its a standard USB to USB (who the hell has this anymore! NOT BEST BUY AND STAPLES....I had to go around looking, now I'll just order it)
This sucks because its necessary to install drivers.
Out of the box picture is good but I want to make it even better!
BTW its listed as a supplied accessory so its Dell's fault

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!!!

Pros: Unbelievable quality! I'm generally not a fan of Dell products for various reasons, but this monitor was worth every penny. It's twice as big as I imagined it would be, the resolution is phenomenal, and it was easy-breezy to set up.

Cons: Absolutely none.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: This is a great monitor. It has exactly what I want in a monitor: 16:10 aspect ratio, matte screen finish, DisplayPort, and (e-)IPS panel. It looks great, and it's a great value for the $290 that I paid for it. You could probably find it for better prices than the $380 that it normally is, though.

Refresh rates match the old Samsung TN Panel that I was using from what I can see, and it is significantly more accurate for colors than the Samsung was.

Height adjustable stand is great, and the rotation of the panel is nice for reading. Also, the Panel tilt is centered on the back of the monitor, which is much nicer than a base tilt.

Also, the USB Hub is great. I only use half of the ports, but they are very easily reachable.

Cons: Could be bigger...Could be higher resolution...

But, for the features that the monitor has, the only real con I can think of is that the panel rotation is kind of loose.
