5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: As you'd expect from an Ultrasharp, it's a lovely screen with great colours.

Cons: Makes my 3-year old U2311H look rubbish.

5 out of 5 eggsBest IPS for the money, gaming use.

Pros: I own two, this was my second purchase. For the games I play, a second monitor became necessary. I love my first one so much, the second one was an easy pick.

For the money, this is the best IPS (gaming) monitor. You get all of the benefits of color saturation and viewing angle - with excellent/low input lag. It is Dell, which make some of the best monitors - so you can trust the build quality. It looks sturdy, acts sturdy and has lots of physical adjustment capabilities.

I've had the first one for 2 years. Its been a gem. There are no dead pixels or bleed on either monitor. They look great once the colors are calibrated.

Connectors are another benefit. DVI, VGA, Display Port, USB Hub. All you need. The menu system is decent.

I love them, and recommend them often.

Cons: The color requires calibration out of the box. Both shipped a little high on green/red for me. That is normal for most IPS monitors though. And really, you will need to adjust according to your taste anyway. I prefer a cooler white balance.

Other Thoughts: I do game - but mostly RTS, Eve Online, Civ, Diablo, Indy, etc. Not as much FPS as I once did.

I originally bought this monitor when I was a (light) FPS gamer, because I wanted as little input lag as possible for an IPS monitor. FPS isnt a genre I enjoy right now. It worked fine for Black Ops and BF3 when I did play, but I wasnt an exceptional FPS gamer to begin with. They work *beautifully* in the games that I do play.

I had temporarily set a standard TN panel monitor next to the original one for a while... This IPS panel made the TN look downright ugly. No exaggeration. Once you do IPS, you will never go back.

3 out of 5 eggsBeauty, and the Beast

Pros: Absolutely stunning colors, very sharp, colors pop! The monitor is amazing from any angle unlike a TN panel. The stand is extremely sturdy, even more so than my old Dell! You have a large amount of height adjustment, a large amount of turning radius and if you wanted to you can put the monitor into portrait mode.

Cons: Price, but I totally love this panel.
Since most games, movies, and TV are in 1080p (16:9 Aspect Ratio) you could have either a stretched screen, or black bars on your screen.

Other Thoughts: I used a 1280x1024, 4:3, 19 inch monitor for 8 years. Going from that to this beauty is HUGE.

Also, I see no ghosting, or lag what so ever. Even playing a racing game(Euro Truck Simulator 2).

My panel came with a single dead pixel and just requested an RMA. I will be sending it back for a replacement monitor. Took only 18 minutes from waiting to my questions being answered. +1 for amazing customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome (when on sale)

Pros: Sale price (two forty) is a great price for this monitor.
Sturdy adjustable stand.
Actual physical buttons (not "touch").

Cons: the 4 USB ports are USB 2.0

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these on sale.
Both are rev A00

Neither have:
Illumination bleed;
hot or dead pixels;
Display Port issues.

Both look the same (placed together) and color/contrast was well adjusted out of box.

I added the optional Dell AX510 speaker (powered by the Monitor) which are decent for the price (if you don't buy them from Dell), and attach to the monitor nicely.

There are some other slightly cheaper IPS monitors out there, that are a better choice if you don't want the stand or speaker option.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Top notch display image. And the 16:10 aspect ratio is an unexpected plus for a little vertical room for the bottom-of-screen user interface while running 16:9 video or games

Cons: I didn't buy two

Other Thoughts: The most demanding uses I have for display hardware are my work image editing (Photoshop, et cetera) and recreational PC gaming.

I was *so* satisfied with my previous Dell monitor that needed to be replaced after many years of flawless service that I was apprehensive that I couldn't determine a direct successor model.

I'm really happy to report that this one is even better.

5 out of 5 eggsCrisp and Clear

Pros: Works perfectly, text and images are extremely sharp.

I'm a software developer and I work on UI and code all day. This is the perfect monitor for that. Much sharper than my samsung 24" sync master.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsA beauty

Pros: Stunning colors and contrast.
Flexible mount (90 degree rotation)
works well with Eyefinity

Cons: Bezel is thicker than I'd like for multi-display use

Other Thoughts: Picked up 2 on sale for 239 and love them both. I compared it directly for a few days with the u2414h and went with this one because of the size and color performance. If you could combine this monitor with the bezel thickness of the u2414h at a 239 price point you'd have the perfect monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsLoving 2nd monitor!

Pros: Great colors.
Crisp fonts, details, etc.
Nice size monitor for working in Photoshop, 3ds Max, UDK, Unity, Premiere, etc.
Great for having two of these.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is my second Dell monitor, bought my first one two years ago. Dual setup is awesome, no issues. I love these monitors and plan on buying higher resolution monitors down the road.. few years from now.
