4 out of 5 eggsWell priced IPS monitor

Pros: > Good image quality (IPS)
> Versatile stand
> Intuitive and customizable On Screen Display

Cons: > No DP cable (but we get VGA cable?)
> I had bad image quality with VGA connection

Other Thoughts: I really like the monitor, but I am disappointed that it lacks HDMI, it would be very useful to connect multiple devices. VGA is useless so I have to either buy DVI switch (DP are too expensive) which costs as much as ANOTHER monitor

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all...

Pros: -- Price (at $189, this is almost disposable)
-- Size (for general work, 23" is sufficient. I don't game or watch movies at my home office desk, where this is being used.)
-- Image Quality (for business use, and for the age of my ThinkPad, it suffices.)
-- Set Up (Easy, trouble free.)
-- It has protrait and landscape modes (which is great when you need to edit long documents)

Cons: -- No HDMI (real dumb)
-- No USB 3.0 (dumb and dumber)
-- No included Display Port cable (what? get rid of the analog cable and get serious)

Other Thoughts: It is what it is. If you want very high quality, with lightening fast response times, yadda, yadda, you're going to have to pay for it. It's a very nice monitor at its price point. For the casual user, this is a great product. However! Hopefully the newer models will have USB 3.0 and HDMI. Dell, you got to keep up.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks great

Pros: IPS panel looks great, no dead pixels, no visible edge bleed. Nice bonus is rotating from landscape to portrait mode.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: A really nice monitor for the price. Had seen a few bad reviews, but this monitor has none of those problems.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than TN monitors

Pros: Pros: Vibrant colors, view angle without any loss of coloration, and adjustable stand.

Cons: Cons: Not really a con but minor upgrade from a TN monitor, an upgrade nevertheless.

Other Thoughts: Decided to upgrade from a TN monitor Acer x223w to play BF4. I mainly use it for gaming and movies, so I was hesitant to buy because of the 8ms response time. I'm a hardcore gamer and honestly I didn't see any ghosting or anything that'll affect gameplay. The vibrant colors wasn't a huge leap like it was from a HP CRT to ACER LCD but the Dell is better than the ACER for sure. I definitely recommended for any budget gamer that wants to upgrade to a IPS monitor.

My presets are Custom Colors R97, G89, B 100, brightness 20, contrast 75

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, great value for IPS

Pros: Excellent picture, great flexibility, great price. On screen menus can be rotated to work when screen is rotated, buttons can be customized for frequently used functions.

Cons: Initially, the monitor is set to optimize energy savings which does not provide the best picture. To get the most out of this display, you need to tweak the settings to get it where you like it.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this as a secondary monitor for my iMac (late 2012 version). One of the key features I needed was the 90° rotation. Before I had the adapter to connect to the iMac, I hooked it up to my old Windows laptop. The picture was TERRIBLE and I nearly sent it back. I waited for the adapter and when I hooked it up to my iMac, and the screen was as beautiful as that on the Mac! It turns out that my laptop's video card has trouble with secondary displays.

4 out of 5 eggsSharp Monitor

Pros: I have this monitor next to a dell professional monitor and the difference in picture quality surprised me. This monitor has such darker blacks and whiter whites and in general looks a lot sharper even though my two monitors are the same size and resolution. I'm glad I spent the few extra bucks on this IPS display.

Cons: Docked an egg for a lack of HDMI port. Not too big of a deal for me but with the widespread use of HDMI it seems like it should be standard.

1 out of 5 eggsNo warranty

Pros: The monitor has nice colors and works. It can also be flipped vertically.

Cons: Heed this warning and those of others.

I can only hope that my monitor doesn't break because if anything happens to it I know I won't be able to get any warranty or support without a service tag which you can only get by buying directly from Dell. Without a service tag I can't register the monitor. There is a thread right now on the Dell monitor support forum that says why you shouldn't buy from a reseller by a dell liason/moderator. I wish I could blame Dell alone but Newegg has really changed from years ago. They are shipping the earliest version of the monitor (A00) which somehow keeps getting manufactured. Buying from newegg is like buying from any other retailer now. The only reason to buy here is if you happen to find a better price. Very dissapointed in both Dell and Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Talking about the monitor itself it is the older A00 version that a lot of people say has problems. I don't have a lot of monitor nowhow so it looks ok to me. The colors are nice but when the screen is black there is a lot of uneven lighting. It would be nice if the uneven lighting accurred equally on all corners but mine has bright blotches on the bottom right corner and on the upper left side. When in normal use this isn't so bad except for the very corners which look darker. Overall this is not the premium monitor I expected. At best it is a premium monitor built like a cheap monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsBest I've Owned or seen

Pros: Was blown away when I turned it on. I owned a glossy screen before, this isn't glossy but looks way way better. Monitor is also thinner than I thought which is a nice plus.

Cons: Can't think of any

Other Thoughts: I installed it on an Ergotron arm so I can't comment on the stand that it was included with it other than it looked sturdy.
