4 out of 5 eggsa mirror and screen all in one

Pros: great looking screen, worked perfectly out of the box. controls make it extremely easy to adjust the settings. base looks good too.

Cons: 1) it's like sitting in front of a 24" mirror. knew it was glossy when, but quite THIS glossy i would never have guessed. when you're looking at dark websites or programs, you basically stare at yourself. bit disappointed it's this glossy to be honest. have a glossy laptop screen and that's ok, but this is like a mirror!!
2) the base is a bit wonky. the screen clips onto the base, it doesn't screw on - so mine leans to one side a bit.

Other Thoughts: had i known it was quite this glossy, i would have bought a different one i think. will avoid glossy screens from now on. just have to find a good anti-glare screen for it and it'll be sorted.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade from my previous monitor

Pros: first and foremost, no flickering. Some European models are reported to have PWM, but it is apparent that none of the US models have any flicker of any sorts. The design is looking very slick, being that the glass is the same level as the bezel, so technically there is none. It is the only glossy monitor I could find out there brand new. The colours are very nice and vibrant due to the VA panel and not the TN (it is definitely not IPS, as some of the reviews suggest trickery against it) I use it for gaming and school, and it suits my needs well

Cons: Although the colours are indeed vibrant, the black levels are not. There is no back light bleed, but the dark pixels dont get very dark, then again, I am spoiled by the super amoled screen on my galaxy! I love glossy monitors, but for some people, this might be a little bit overboard. I sit next to a full size window, and when its sunny outside i find myself closing the shutters so that i can see better.

Other Thoughts: If you can look past the negatives, this is a nice monitor. But, if you are a gamer, you can find something better out there for less money, but nothing glossy. All the monitors I could find were matte, and TN panels, which I do not prefer, being that they are low quality and cheap. If youre looking to get a gaming monitor, seek a 1ms response time one and zero flickering.

1 out of 5 eggsImage quality inferior to expectations

Pros: Thin, light, bezel and glass look cool. Less image blur and latency than my old VA panel.

Newegg is awesome with fast shipping as always.

Cons: I will preface this with the fact that yes, I have correctly set RGB range to full 0-255 in Nvidia control panel settings, and have also tried YcBcR444, matching computer output and monitor settings correctly.

Black levels are NOWHERE near what review sites and other comments are suggesting. Even if I turn the brightness down to an unusable level, the "blacks" are brighter and more muddy gray than my 10 year old Samsung monitor which only claims 1000:1 contrast. This one is supposed to be 3000:1. Also, there is considerable difference in contrast on the bottom of the screen vs. the top, and there is SIGNIFICANT 1/3" light bleed on the edges. It looks like a halo surrounding the image. Colors are less saturated than my old monitor as well. Very disappointed. VA panels are supposed to have amazing contrast. This is inferior to every decent TN and IPS screen I've seen in recent years.

Other Thoughts: Did I just get a bad model? Should I return/exchange this? Or is what I'm describing a normal thing?

1 out of 5 eggsToo Glossy

Pros: Looks nice when not in use.

Cons: This was purchased for an employee. It's one of the glossiest screens I've seen, and is effectively a mirror even when in use. The employee rejected the monitor after one day citing eye strain and headaches.

Other Thoughts: Really, don't buy this monitor. Even if you live in a basement, there will be too much of a reflection for it to be usable.

5 out of 5 eggsCorrecting an error

Pros: Very high real contrast, due to A-MVA panel.
Better viewing angles than TN panels offer.
No fuzziness/noise/crystallization from a matte anti-glare treatment.
Very low input lag (5 ms).
Outstanding pixel responsiveness, compared with older MVA panels.
Very low power usage.
Thin bezel works well for multiple monitor setup.

Cons: Not capable of handling the Adobe RGB color space.
High glare glossy glass screen.
Only HDMI connection.
Backlight uses PWM.
More limited viewing angles than PLS, H-IPS, and S-IPS panels
Very basic stand.

Other Thoughts: I am writing to correct a statement someone made: "NEAR IPS. It isn't true IPS, but the colors, contrast ratio and viewing angles are almost in comparison with IPS monitors."

This statement is untrue with regard to contrast ratio. A-MVA technology, which this panel uses, has much higher real contrast than any IPS panel. As for the "colors", this is an sRGB panel. It will display sRGB colors. Some IPS panels are sRGB and some are wide-gamut.

A-MVA panels generally benefit from hardware calibration, so find a colorimeter like a Spyder 4 and calibrate your monitor when you get it.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Monitor! Perfect for design/gaming/document use!

Pros: NEAR IPS. It isn't true IPS, but the colors, contrast ratio and viewing angles are almost in comparison with IPS monitors, and this is a steal! The glass screen also doubles as semi-mirror when the screen is turned off, which I found to be fairly cool. Compared to my Samsung Note II's AMOLED screen, this monitor is much more true to color and smooth to the eyes. The touch-controlled menu interface is also slick (you can also control on your PC via included software) and there are multiple, adjustable presets for you to configure. HDMI Input is also a plus! I also hook this monitor up to a PS3 via HDMI while my PC is hooked up via VGA. It's a bliss.

Cons: This unit is not wall mountable and provides some glare, but unlike what other state - it's tolerable. If anything, get an anti-glare sticker screen and slap it on. I mean, it's glass anyway, right? One other problem was lack of DVI input. Who uses VGA anymore when you pay for a mid-range monitor? It's outdated and DVI is the way to go.
Now includes a free HDMI to DVI adapter (when my original order didn't) and newegg refuses to ship it to me.

Other Thoughts: I'm considering getting an HDMI switch, so I can fully utilize PC gaming to the max. When I hooked up my PC to HDMI (with HDMI to DVI Cable), I was really happy, but wanted to connect my PS3 to hook up. I wish dell provided a VGA to DVI adapter or a HDMI switch to make my life easier.
Monitor is also heavy and might occasionally wobble with shaking, but the base/arm is made of metal and is rather heavy.

5 out of 5 eggsIPS

Pros: Good price, even better if you get it on sale.
Viewing angles are good.
I like the glass since many people use this monitor and collects fingerprint, it is easy to clean and the glass protect the panel.
I feel better on this display, the white and light colors are very define, it is very comfortable on the eyes compare to my older monitor that cost me a lot more. The contrast and details are good on the games.

Cons: -is not 27in
-You really have to control the light on the room to avoid terrible reflections that can really bother but if you are willing to do that it is very nice monitor over all.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you hear a click when you connect the base or it may fall off when connecting the HDMI cable pushing up.
IPS is definitely a game changer for display panels and I want to be an early adopter for this good price.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: -Great screen resolution and quality using HDMI
-Easy to Set up
-Touch sensitive buttons
-Good Build quality
-Great for gaming and work involving multiple windows

Cons: -VERY SHAKY! I know it is secure and wont fall off, but with every touch of the power button or bump of the desk it will wobble for a good 2-3 seconds.
- The base does not provide much height, resulting in an old text book being used as a monitor stand for now.

Other Thoughts: Took off an egg for the shaky stand, seems to me it could have been a little larger and not sacrificed the good looks of the monitor. I've only had it for about 9 days and so far so good, great for the price if you want a large, sharp screen to work with.

4 out of 5 eggsjust wanted to point out dust under glass

Pros: I just got the monitor and using vga currently (ordered hdmi to dvi cable), but so far its been pretty good.

Its a AMVA lcd display type.

You can immediately notice the better contrast quality compared to typical TN lcds. I also bought a Asus vs247h-p recently, and its night and day contrast difference.

The viewing angles is noticeably better than typical TN monitors as well.

The stand is very sturdy with a metal base, unlike the flimsy Asus one.

Cons: The main issue i wanted to point out in this review is that i noticed specks of dust/lint under the glass while cleaning the monitor. (so its there permanently). Its only noticeable on dark backgrounds.

I was using a lint cloth to clean the dust and was like what the... its on the other side of the glass! Fortunately the specks are near the edge of the screen, though once you know its there, it kinda bugs me. It doesnt look as bad as having a dead pixel of coarse but just wanted to point that out for you guys.

Like many have said, there is only a hdmi and a vga port. Though not that big of a deal if it brings the cost down, since hdmi and dvi are compatible with out quality loss.

Other Thoughts: The menu buttons are the touch sensor kinds, some like it, some don't.

I can't give a good opinion on additional picture quality since i'm only using VGA atm, might add more once i get the hdmi cable.

The edge border is about 3/4" around. There are some picture ads that show a misleading border size.
