2 out of 5 eggsStay Away....

Pros: Was nice while it lasted.

Cons: A little over a year after purchase, a red vertical line appeared about center screen. The monitor has a function called LCD conditioning.
That didn't work. Good thing I bought this with promo and a good price. I've had other dell monitors that were similar models, and were fine. Do not buy this one. I'm taking one more chance on a Dell monitor here on Newegg, another promo. If this craps out, I'm done with dell.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: The colors are gorgeous. I have 3 monitors, this monitor made me realize my other two are terrible and I need to get an RMA going. I thought my 28" Asus was amazing- it's bland, flat, dull.

Cons: Glare; I can see myself in the reflection. But I have it at a weird angle and lots of light in my room.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Colors look great on the glossy ips display. Purchased this for our meeting hall on a computer that mirrors to a projector. Everything is sharp and vivid on this display

Cons: Doesn't have a vesa mount option. Not a big deal as I knew that when purchasing. Just want to let someone else know that may overlook it.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat looking monitor for a great price!

Pros: - Great colors
- Nice looking design
- Very easy to adjust the settings
- Great stand, very sturdy and easy to adjust

Cons: - No horizontal pivot on the base, but who really needs it when you're literally sitting right in front of it?
- Only has DVI-D input and VGA

Other Thoughts: The cons are not worth it enough to take a star from this great monitor, only issue was with ordering a DVI-D cable with it. Had to wait 2 extra days just for the cable because they weren't shipped together (even though I ordered them together and even had to pay for shipping on the cable). Not a problem with the monitor though.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor customer service from Dell

Pros: Edge to edge display is very sharp and clear as is typical with an IPS monitor of this price range.

Cons: The monitor failed after eight months of light use. The monitor won't power up although the external power supply tests ok.
Dell advertises a warranty but uses a unique runaround to deny warranty coverage to anyone who purchases monitors without a complete system. They require a "Service Tag" code which they claim is printed on a sticker behind every product and refuse to honor the warranty without it. They won't accept the serial number and it's widely known that they don't actually include the so called "service tag" on consumer monitors sold separately.
They have in effect deliberately created a catch 22 runaround to refuse to honor any warranty. A bit of online research shows this has been a problem for many years with Dell.

Other Thoughts: It is nearly impossible to get through to Dell customer service and they still refuse to honor the warranty. They pretend as if the service tag is on all Dell monitors when in fact it's never there. The serial number is clearly printed but they claim they can't look up the history with the serial number.

I can't recommend purchasing a Dell Monitor unless you simply accept there is no effective warranty. My understanding is that a certain brick and mortar retail store will honor a Dell warranty in house if it was purchased there. It would be nice if Newegg could force manufactures to honor warranty through an in house service because I know Newegg takes better care of their customers than Dell.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome to behold!

Pros: Design and form factor, size, color, brightness are all great.

Cons: Does not have HDMI.
Could use a taller and/or more adjustable stand.
The outputs are inset in a shallow "hole" (see the pictures). The COBOC DVI-D [ N82E16812422627 ] cables I bought are sturdy but RIGID and hard to plug in then bend to accommodate this recess.

Other Thoughts: I replaced one 23" active matrix TFT with two of these 23" IPS monitors. The brightness went from night to day. I don't now how I used my old monitor for so many YEARS. Wait for a sale and buy as many as you can afford!

2 out of 5 eggsShort-lived beauty

Pros: The picture is stunning; it's great for multi (side-by-side) monitor mounts as there's almost no bezel or border, though it does not have VESA mount points, so you have to find (and usually tap) a specially made mounting plate. ...however...

Cons: After about 8 months of light usage, the right half of the screen started developing stripes of various colors. Didn't matter whether it was VGA or DVI, and it was system-agnostic. Dell couldn't give a [EXPLETIVE REDACTED] less about the problem, either, despite *MANY* phone calls. The warranty on this is utterly useless.
Occasionally, the stripes go away and it's lovely again. But then they come back.
Another thing it likes to do is 'lock up'. That is, no matter what you press, the monitor will not respond and will appear to be completely and totally dead. The fix for this is the same as most monitors that seem to lock: press and hold the power button, unplug the power while still holding the power button, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in while still holding the power button. Pretty much the same process to reset an HPaq laptop's power circuit when it refuses to turn on.

Other Thoughts: I had recommended this model to many, many clients. Of them, only one has had any issue other than the lockup discussed above -- and they had the stripe-banding issue that I have. I cannot, in good conscience recommend this to anyone anymore. I gave it two instead of one egg because I know they're not *ALL* bad.
