5 out of 5 eggsAwesome to behold!

Pros: Design and form factor, size, color, brightness are all great.

Cons: Does not have HDMI.
Could use a taller and/or more adjustable stand.
The outputs are inset in a shallow "hole" (see the pictures). The COBOC DVI-D [ N82E16812422627 ] cables I bought are sturdy but RIGID and hard to plug in then bend to accommodate this recess.

Other Thoughts: I replaced one 23" active matrix TFT with two of these 23" IPS monitors. The brightness went from night to day. I don't now how I used my old monitor for so many YEARS. Wait for a sale and buy as many as you can afford!

2 out of 5 eggsShort-lived beauty

Pros: The picture is stunning; it's great for multi (side-by-side) monitor mounts as there's almost no bezel or border, though it does not have VESA mount points, so you have to find (and usually tap) a specially made mounting plate. ...however...

Cons: After about 8 months of light usage, the right half of the screen started developing stripes of various colors. Didn't matter whether it was VGA or DVI, and it was system-agnostic. Dell couldn't give a [EXPLETIVE REDACTED] less about the problem, either, despite *MANY* phone calls. The warranty on this is utterly useless.
Occasionally, the stripes go away and it's lovely again. But then they come back.
Another thing it likes to do is 'lock up'. That is, no matter what you press, the monitor will not respond and will appear to be completely and totally dead. The fix for this is the same as most monitors that seem to lock: press and hold the power button, unplug the power while still holding the power button, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in while still holding the power button. Pretty much the same process to reset an HPaq laptop's power circuit when it refuses to turn on.

Other Thoughts: I had recommended this model to many, many clients. Of them, only one has had any issue other than the lockup discussed above -- and they had the stripe-banding issue that I have. I cannot, in good conscience recommend this to anyone anymore. I gave it two instead of one egg because I know they're not *ALL* bad.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great picture with good color. Really liked it until the day it died.

Cons: Died after 4 months and nobody...Newegg or Dell seems to care.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this monitor. Unless you need a 23 inch paper weight that nobody but you cares about. Well it did work for a few months.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the Price!

Pros: The IPS panel is AMAZING! Great clarity and colors. Very bright too. I got mine on sale for $130, but even on full price you ca't beat for a budget IPS monitor

Cons: There is a little glare seeing it's a glossy screen, but it's nothing worth taking a egg off for.

Other Thoughts: Only comes with VGA, would like to see a DVI cable included

5 out of 5 eggseasy on the eyes

Pros: very nice picture, very clear. I have eye strain and this monitor is a tremendous help. After I purchased mine 3 other folks in the office wanted one.

Cons: no HDMI but that's an easy work around

1 out of 5 eggsDell is Shady

Pros: The glossy screen is exactly what you are looking for when buying a monitor that doesn't have any lights to reflect onto it. Beautiful.

Cons: The problem - 1/3rd of screen burnt in 2 months into purchase. Simple right?

But oh, where do I begin...

Oh, of course. Dell has absolutely horrible customer service with products they sell outside of their own website. It is so bad, in fact, that I would recommend ANY BUYER INTERESTED IN PURCHASING FROM DELL TO DROP ANY AND ALL CONSIDERATIONS IMMEDIATELY.

Other reviewers have complained since I bought mine over a year ago with the same problem. Dell states on their own website that many monitors do not carry service tags, such is the case with this one. If you have some problem (like dead pixels or burn-in [mine was burnt]), you can be confident that you will be up the creek without a paddle in replacing it through Dell.

The reps will act as if they never read you tell them very clearly and very nicely multiple times that you bought it from Newegg and you can furnish proof, and just say over and over again they cannot do anything without a service tag.

So here I am, 1 year later. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty... and I am hoping to get my replacement much more comfortably through Newegg.

This whole experience with Dell has been a huge letdown. They were the company I bought my first desktop from, with who I often recommended friends and peers to buy from if they did not care to personally upgrade. How different the reference will be now...

Other Thoughts: If you like to take a gamble, a pristine unit would be a lovely addition for your desktop. Although even when I bought this, many warned others to buy a warranty because there are often quite a few problems. Thank goodness I did.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good

Pros: Good resolution for a second monitor which is what i use it for. I was looking for a good monitor for a month then i came across this one and i was blown away by the price and the quality.

Cons: Nothing that i have seen so far. The glare is most likely the only problem i had with the monitor because i have a window to my back that lets light in and produces a glare on both of my screen. But this monitor is still really good even if i have a glare.
