2 out of 5 eggsAmazing Product, Poor QA

Pros: Crisp quality, no dead pixels, beautiful monitor

Friends own 2713s and 3011s -- excellent quality monitors when the quality assurance is up to par.

Cons: The specific monitor I received had heinous back-light bleed. I mean, absolutely abysmal!

Bottom left corner was incredibly bright on black and dark colors. Top right corner bled through a lot of light as well. The other two corners had decent bleed through also. In all, the bleed-through made the monitor sub-par for photo editing and down-right annoying for videos and games.

For this price and expected quality, this monitor was a failure.

Other Thoughts: Currently in the RMA process with NewEgg to get a replacement. As I said above, when the monitors are actually checked for quality, they are great! Too bad my monitor was a bleeder.

5 out of 5 eggsDell reigns supreme

Pros: First time trying a dell and first time trying a nice IPS. It's almost as if I'm looking into a window to reality.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I had this monitor for a little over 10 months now. So far, it is the best monitor I've ever had. 2 pages of documents side by side is good!

Colors are good after calibrations, not much heat. using Display port for full resolution and a HannsG 27" monitor 1900x1200 resolution on DVI (wife to watch movie/TV etc).

Hope the price come down a little more to get another one to run same resolution.

Cons: None that I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Been using this monitor as my primary display for almost a year. No problems at all. I use it as the primary display for a mac mini and custom built gaming PC.

Cons: Not 4k

5 out of 5 eggsGamer's point of view

Pros: Sharp image, excellent color gamut, decent display options, works with FPS games

Cons: Could use more display options, no overdrive tweaking, game mode does not reduce input lag.

Other Thoughts: I've played Battlefield 3, Minecraft, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, and Mass Effect 2 on this monitor. I have no complaints. I am not a hardcore FPS gamer (i.e., I am not terribly good), but I've spent over a thousand hours playing those types of games. For gamers worried about input lag and response times, don't. Unless you are really fast, really good, and highly competitive at FPS fast-twitch games, you won't notice. Even if you do, the contrast and vibrancy of the display is a wonderful upgrade from my Samsung P2370, which has a 2ms response time (unsure about the input lag).

Also, I've watched some TV shows and the movie Gravity with no complaints. You may notice some fade choppiness when brighter static images fade to black, but this didn't bother me.

If you are a gamer and trying to find that large high-resolution IPS display without compromising your FPS experiences, this is the one.

For graphics and printing - After calibrating my display via TFT Central's recommended 'standard' preset tweaks, I successfully printed a color-matched test photo. I was very pleased with how well the output color-matched the display image.

2 out of 5 eggsVertical Lines Developed in Under 8 Months

Pros: Lots of real estate.

Cons: With under 8 months of usage, the display developed long vertical lines that covered 75% of the screen. A quick internet search found others had similar issues. Thankfully still under warranty, Dell is in the process of sending me a new. Even though the customer service process was fairly painless, it took about an hour on the phone to get my warranty processed. Now I wait for the new one to arrive.

Other Thoughts: For the cost, and the hassle of returning the monitor along with the associated down-time, I would not purchase another one.

3 out of 5 eggsA year later, some dissapointments

Pros: Big screen, great color. Good interface. USB plugs. Light -- wall mounted easily.

Monitor ports face down instead of out -- this is important if you want to wall mount the monitor.

Cons: You will find online that this monitor cannot achieve true black in the bottom right and left corners. Its not noticeable in normal use, however when I am looking and a dark background its disappointing. It would be ok in a cheaper monitor, but at this price I thought I was buying a little better.

Gaming mode is irritating. Auto dimming and brightening blinds me when trying to play. Its too bad, because otherwise this mode corrects for some of the above problem.

Other Thoughts: Wish it went higher than 60hz and 8ms response, but some limitations are expected with IPS.

This is my only $600 monitor, so I don't really have anything to compare it too. Its definitely better than the $300 one ... I just was expecting more.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor + Great Warranty Service

Pros: Great Picture + Colors
Great Resolution
3 Year Warranty
Great customer service

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: First one I got had dust under the screen and the top left panel was broken. Called Dell expecting a nightmare. Much to my surprise Dell was on top of their warranty service and promptly mailed me out a new monitor free of charge.

2nd monitor I received was perfect.

1 out of 5 eggsQuality issues

Pros: Crisp picture and good colors.

Cons: My main concern with the picture is stripes I get on lighter colors at certain angles. If you sit at the right place you don't see it but if you move your head around they show up. But this isn't the big issue with this monitor, quality is. I've gone through 5 monitors so far and they keep having issues, mainly with broken pixels but also failing usb ports. I used to be a big fan of dell monitors but this one is just awful. Buy something else instead is all I can say. My old 24 ultrasharp worked like a charm for years so I could imagine getting a different ultrasharp but not this one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Great Resolution. Bright. Good selection of Inputs. USB 3.0 hub. Tilt/swivel and adjustable height stand. Overall, a beautiful thing (especially with 2 of them).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have had one of these for almost a year and got a 2nd one about 3 months ago. I can't image going back to a "low-resolution" 1920x1080 monitor! I always have multiple programs running with multiple windows and often need to be able to simultaneously view multiple pages of text. This set-up is great for that. I run one using the DP and the other using the DVI input. The one running DP sometimes does some "strange" things where a part of the display will first show up in the wrong place and then move within a few frames to the right location, but I don't know if that is the monitor or the display adapter (probably the display adapter).
