5 out of 5 eggsPremium panel

Pros: Premium panel. Well built adjustable stand. Dell warranty. Out of box calibration as advertised. No panel deformity. DVI-dual cord included. Low price of $549 on sale!

Mine is in shipping right now. Don't need to see it because a friend of mine has this model and I know a lot about it. See other remarks for story.

Cons: Quality control but Dell will replace till they get it right. Crosshatching is the one issue. If it doesn't have it the panel is perfect.

Other Thoughts: I had a Qnix from a third party seller online with a warranty. 11 months in started to produce lines during gaming and then normal desktop use. 120 Hz is a gimmick if you don't have a good video card. Horrible stand. When went to replace after paying a lot for shipping, warranty sent back same panel with faulting me for the degradation.

My friend has had a Dell U2713HM since release and the one issue he had when received was instantly replaced by Dell without any problem within five days for free cross shipping. I used to laugh at him for paying more for the same viewing but the 'b' grade panel really is luck how long it will last. He over clocks it to 85 Hz and I can't tell the difference between the Hz gaming watching him. At the price this week of $549 it was a no brainer. Wish I had done this first like him.

5 out of 5 eggs1080p killer

Pros: I've been using a 1080p monitor all my life. I heard about these 1440 monitors and decided to take a plunge. Wow, where have you been all my life is all I can think when I turned it on!

You will not regret this purchase. At $586 price it's a steal. Hands down the best name brand at this cost.

Can do so much more with all the extra space. Colors are crazy good. Truly plug and play.

No issues with bad pixels and this crosshatching people talk about. Movies are eye candy now.

Cons: If I had to pick something I'd say if you received one with defects and have to exchange for another monitor. Doesn't seem to be an issue since reading every one eventually gets Dell to send a good monitor.

Other Thoughts: I was originally sad when my 1080 P monitor went bad. However this investment I've got on my desk, I now have no regrets and actually happy that it happened. It's also nice to know that I will have three years of worry free warranty as I've read everywhere on the net that Dell is impeccable with warranties. It's like free insurance, which I'm a big on. :happy face:

5 out of 5 eggsJust about the right size

Pros: Immersive. 3,686,400 pixels. Only 6301.5 pixels per dollar. 10W draw per the killawatt, which is outstanding.
Nice white power LED. LED pulses when in stand by. Sturdy stand. No power brick.

Cons: Only monitor in the box.

Other Thoughts: Blindingly bright on the brightest setting. 10% is comfortable. On sale till 6/17/13. 1080P is just not enough vertical resolution for much of anything.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Customer Support

Pros: I originally gave this only two stars and was very harsh in my removing eggs just from back light bleed. A Google search shows all IPS / PLS monitors having back light bleed not just this one.

This one also did not have crosshatching or dead pixels as my other monitor.

Dell sent me a replacement in five days from my call to support and paid for cross shipping both directions. Second monitor I received was PERFECT.

Cons: Not any more thanks to customer support with hassle free exchange.

Other Thoughts: Sorry to originally remove eggs and give this monitor a bad rating and since at most I should have taken only half a star if any I gave this one all five stars.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Build - Warranty

Pros: After owning a Korean panel at half the price I now know why they are having upgraded to this U2713HM. Build quality doesn't even compare. This monitor is head and shoulders better in every way imaginable.

No crosshatching, no dead pixels, no bleed. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou....finally.

Cons: None after owning a few Korean panels.

Other Thoughts: Had given the PB278Q a chance and gave up trying to get one without dead pixel, back light bleed or both.

My first Korean panel with a few dead pixels I couldn't exchange died after a year. My second panel colors went red after seven months and again couldn't get replacement.

Dell has awesome replacement and I like to pay more this time to get 3 years warranty I can't depend on anywhere else. I paid the same amount on two Korean panels and no warranty in less than two years.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet monitor

5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommended

Pros: Pre-factory calibration is vey true. No other vendor takes the time to calibrate each monitor specifically for its own calibration. Other vendors calibrate all their monitors the same and no two monitors are the same. That's why this monitor is perfect colors out of the box and no calibration tools required.

Cons: I bought mine at the regular price and have seen many other sales in between I wish I would've jumped on. It was still worth what I paid I just feel I missed out. However compared to other monitors of this caliber it is priced correctly.

Other Thoughts: I received in A01 revision panel and did not have any buzzing sound as some others have reported. My monitor was perfect on the first try thank you Dell.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful monitor

Pros: Lots of screen real estate due to almost 2x the pixels of 1080p, enough room to easily work with any two windows side by side.
Games look and run excellent, with no perceivable lag despite the somewhat high 8ms response time.
High resolution videos and images absolutely shine on the display, with amazing levels of detail.
Switching from a 1080p 23" LCD this is a night and day difference and definitely worth every penny.

Cons: Expensive (obviously)
Slight backlight glow, although it is usually unnoticeable and expected on today's IPS panels

Other Thoughts: To those wary about the 1440p resolution, don't be. Movies and even games at 1080p still look brilliant on the screen, with great colors and a larger size to boot.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Monitor

Pros: Read all these reviews and all the good is true.

Cons: Read the bad where people take off stars but Dell replaced it with a working monitor. I had back light bleed but not bad at all and nothing else wrong.

Other Thoughts: With this larger of a monitor there is bound to be bleed. Mine was minor. Thankfully.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Usually don't take the time to post reviews.

Stand is high quality. Panel is free from defects. No power brick required like Korean panels. I looked for this crosshatching some people mentioned...don't see it. Colors are very colorful. I game a tiny bit and this is very very nice. Easy control panel for different modes including auto changes. No PWM backlighting used and very easy on the eyes.

Cons: 2560x1440 panels are expensive. It's only worth it when on sale and other monitors are more expensive for nothing more.
