5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality product, plug-n-play easy

Pros: The colors and contrast are exceptional. A solid upgrade over my old 19" Dell P series monitor. The huge screen resolution allows for lots of concurrently visible windows. Plug-n-play with my RHEL 7.2 workstation. Uses the Dell Ax510 sound bar, powered by the display, for less desk clutter. LED backlight and IPS display technology are excellent. Full Adobe RGB color is a major benefit.

Cons: No real problems or cons that I can think of. The optional Ax510 sound bar is a little weak sounding, I don't know of any other model sound bar made for this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Using this monitor on my Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Workstation, with an NVidia GTX Titan video card. Works great, highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitors! Worth the price

Pros: I use two of these monitors at work for the last 2 years (as a systems engineer), and decided to buy two for home (as I now do more work from home). Absolutely wonderful! The display port chaining works (after you enable it on the monitor) and assuming you have an appropriate video card. Colors are awesome! WoW looks good too! I have more monitor real estate now with two of these.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this monitor!

2 out of 5 eggsBought 3, already had to RMA 2

Pros: Good color accuracy when new. Many ports, premium/business dell warranty (3 years instead of 1.) Quick RMA process where Dell sends the replacement before one sends back the defective unit.

Cons: The display will, at random, go black for a few seconds. The computer can still detect the display--just no display. Back-light stays on. Same issues with DVI and DP. Of 3 I bought 2 have been RMAed and a replacement is already on its way out, average lifetime of 6-8months of 12hrs+ daily use in a business setting.

RMA units are not calibrated. Very expensive for number of RMAs.

Other Thoughts: Bought for triple display work computer; development, graphic design and video editing. Met the goals no better than much cheaper. Multiple RMAs on work computers are bad for the bottom.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat all around monitor

Pros: Multiple display settings for your varying computer operations. Adobe color, factory color calibration, display size is great, USB and media card connections on monitor if you need them

Cons: None at this time

Other Thoughts: I use it for photography editing and this monitor has a proven history of working great in this field. Looked at several monitors for photo work and this model kept standing out. You will not be disappointed in this unit. In photo work Xrite and Dell have specific calibration tools available for you to use and they make a great calibration package for this monitor.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lots of stand adjustments
The color quality blows away the cheaper Dell monitors in the office
16:10 ftw (say it out loud so it will rhyme)

Cons: Using DisplayPort the monitor (tried two of them) will occasionally just go black. The laptop can still detect that it is connected but the monitor cannot. Unplug the DP, replug and it works again for several hours.
First time I plugged in DVI I didn't have this problem but I had sparkling blue pixels all over the place. They went away but if they come back I'll probably have to return this. Lastly, the stand is very wiggly.

Other Thoughts: It's got great picture when it works but for the price I'm a little disappointed. My old school way-before-IPS monitors are still the best (2407WFP)

2 out of 5 eggsHave had better luck with cheap monitors.

Pros: Good refresh rate. Good contrast (after you turn off the "Dynamic" aka fake contrast). Decent build quality but see Cons.

Cons: I bought two of these a year ago. First one started malfunctioning last June. Now the other one is failing. Terrible. I paid $650 a piece for these back then, total loss. I'll be submitting for warranty return but what to do without a monitor...compute in the dark?!?!

Also the menu buttons suck. They stick and make navigation of the menu a huge hassle.

Other Thoughts: I've had better luck with cheap monitors. DO NOT BUY!!!

1 out of 5 eggsReal dissapointment

Pros: One looks half good, lots of cables and options for inputs. I do like the smooth adjustability of the stand. It has a nice look to it.

Cons: I ordered 2 of these for a dual display system and unfortunately it's not going to work out.

-Both have ghosting(green) when scrolling on web pages or playing games.

-One has backlight bleed in the 2 bottom corners, the other has alot of backlight bleed in the 2 bottom and a bit in the 2 top.

Other Thoughts: I knew about this problem but had heard it was fixed in the A02 series that came out last July. I got 2 A00's that were "built" in November 2013(apparently it is confirmed that they are labeling them all A00 now) and had the 'XTXXK' PPID so it should have been built after the problems were fixed.

Overall I am very dissapointed as I was really excited to be dualing the next step up in 24" IPS monitors for picture and video editing.

You can bet I will be giving newegg a call tomorrow and getting these returned as DELL obviously havn't fixed the problem.

The search for the perfect monitor in that price range is still on.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for entry-level professionals

Pros: - Luminance Uniformity is excellent.
- Color Accuracy for sRGB mode is crazy accurate at
Delte E < 0.719
- Fast response time with no visible signs of RTC overdrive errors.

Cons: - The monitor could be held just a little firmer on the stand
as pressing the buttons will cause your entire screen to move. That being said, this shouldn't realistically be a problem unless you're trying to use this monitor in a moving vehicle.
- Just a touch of over brightness/ backlight bleed in the bottom two corners.
- Color temperature of this monitor was just a bit higher than the preferred 6500, probably landing closer to 6800 on average.

Other Thoughts: I'm an aspiring filmmaker so my needs were a color accurate monitor that was reliable for color grading raw footage and fast enough to smoothly display video without artifacts.
Originally ordered the u2713H and was disappointed when the color uniformity across the screen was garbage.

For the amount of money this monitor costs and the utility it provides, it is an EXCELLENT monitor.

Now believe me when I say I spent weeks pulling my hair out trying to pick a monitor, it seems there aren't any being built now that don't have inherent flaws unless you can afford a HP dreamcolor at $2500. I had heard and seen videos of this monitor (u2413) displaying intense green/dark overdrive shadow artifacts, but the monitor I received (built Apr 2013 rev 00) does not show any over drive shadows that I can visibly catch with my eye when trying to provoke it nor in regular practice such as watching fast cut scenes in a film.

The way the market feels right now, buying a monitor of any given model feels a bit like rolling the dice. There seems to be just a bit of luck in receiving a solid, well calibrated monitor from the factory.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Pro-grade monitor

Pros: It has fantastic color reproduction, smooth viewing angles, almost no perceptible backlight bleed (a common problem with cheaper IPS panels). The stand is fantastic. Don't overlook how important a good adjustable monitor stand is for viewing comfort.

Cons: It is moderately expensive. This is definitely a professional-grade monitor, you pay a premium for the best they have.

Other Thoughts: I had one of the cheaper, less color-accurate Dell U2412M monitors of the same size and resolution. The backlight started flickering occasionally. It went away after some time but was annoying enough to warrant a call to Dell. They quickly shipped me a replacement that was this model, the U2413. I was surprised that this model is noticeably better looking even without the flicker. It comes factory calibrated, which is fantastic.
