3 out of 5 eggsIt's Okay

Pros: It's cheap, great for everyday use.
Buttons are well laid out

Cons: Poor color reproduction (Maybe just mine?) It was 8 bit and looked gross. (
Had to restart twice with Windows 10 and GTX 970 and the monitor plugged in via displayport to get it to detect a signal
At 94 pixels per square inch, I was expecting a better clarity. It looked worse than 720p

Other Thoughts: I would buy this monitor again if it were for an elderly person, or a person who doesn't care about their monitor. Personally, with the painfully ugly color reproduction and seemingly low resolution, I'd spend $20 less to get a beautiful viewsonic VA2249S.

5 out of 5 eggsDell P2014H

Pros: Excellent monitor. Just what my wife wanted. She missed the adjustable features with monitor she was using. We had purchased a Dell 19 inch several years ago and it died after a long life and tons of use. The used monitor she was using did not have the resolution or convenience of being adjustable. This was a good price and so far has been very dependable. She has been using it about a month.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't support custom resolutions. Might return it.

Pros: IPS Panel, good colors, solid build, a lot of adjustments.

Monitor looks really nice and professional on the desk, and has really good colors. Takes a while to get used to the colors.

Cons: I got this to replace my cheap ASUS panel that I was using as an external monitor, but to my unfortunate surprise, this monitor is locked down and will not support any custom resolutions.

I run custom and overclocked resolutions on my systems to allow a better gaming experience, and this monitor doesn't support any of it.

Which is disappointing when the cheap Asus monitor supports everything without a hickup.

Any setting of a custom resolution leaves an error message on the monitor about "input timing."

Can't overclock the monitor, can't use OGSSAA downsampling resolutions, can't do anything except use native resolutions at 59.978mhz.

This is really disappointing to see a monitor so locked down it can't even support basic customizations

Also some minor things. Came with a Display Port cable but no Mini DP adaptor. With so many GPUs and laptops using miniDP ports there should have been an included adaptor.

Monitor doesn't support HDMI? Wasn't in the description though.

Has USB passthrough, but the ports are poorly placed.

Other Thoughts: Really disappointed that this monitor is locked down and wont support anything that cheaper monitors do.

I use a lot of custom settings and tweaks for gaming and screenshots, and the limitations make me feel like I wasted my money.

5 out of 5 eggsBest 1600x900 out there

Pros: Amazing Colors
Wide viewing angles
Extremely clean backlight
Very white whites
Adjustable stand
Displayport and DVI
Runs very cool
Intuitive UI

Cons: Stock brightness levels are a little too high for low-light applications

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor to go alongside my 2007 Dell E198WFP 1440x900. I didn't want 1920x1080 and I needed IPS and height adjustment so this was the perfect monitor. At 1600x900 I can play nearly any game on ultra, paired with the amazing colors of this monitor makes for a great gaming experience. Don't let the 8ms scare you away, 8ms is plenty fast even for the most competitive CS:GO matches.

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor!

Pros: See other thoughts.

Cons: See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a monitor with resolution 1600x1200px, to use in vertical position (1200x1600) side by side to my Dell U3011. I already have a 9-year old Samsung 213T to the left of the U3011 and I wanted a 3rd monitor to the right, also with 1600 pixels vertically. These days, finding an affordable monitor with resolution 1600x1200 is impossible so plan B was 1600x900. I found this monitor. It has all the features that I need, mostly it is NOT a TN panel and can be rotated (pivot) to 1600 pixels vertically.

The quality of image is on par with my Dell U3011 so no complaints. I do not play games often so I am not worried about response time and whatever else is important for hardcore gamers. I do not do professional photograph/movie work so also precision of colors (matching monitor color to printer color) is also not a big concern, although I have noticed that both the U3011 and this monitor are pretty good at this, for what I need.

There is its sibling, the Dell E2014H, that has also same resolution and, at the moment, costs almost half the price but it does not rotate (pivot) and it has a TN panel. My notebook has a TN panel and the quality of the image degrades when the angle of vision starts to grow (looking at the corners, the image gets darker), so I promised myself that I would never buy a TN panel, if I could choose.

So all in all, I highly recommend this monitor if the resolution is right for you.
