2 out of 5 eggsavoid optical

Pros: easy menu system, two HDMI inputs and it functions as a USB dock as well

Cons: Optical touch screen was practically useless for me. I tried to use this monitor in a work scenario where reliability and speed were somewhat critical, and they failed me.

There's sometimes a long "wake up" period trying to get the monitor to recognize touch which leaves me furiously tapping at the screen until it responds. Other times the touch is way too sensitive and it registers multiple touches at different parts of the screen when I only have one finger down.

If you get a little bit of dust in the bezel (where the IR sensors are) you're out of luck. The touch will barely work and will frustrate you to no end until you get some air duster and clean it out.

I'm writing this because I'm having to replace them with monitors that have newer and more reliable touchscreen technology..

Other Thoughts: It's possible they may be fine for the casual user looking for a budget option. Just be aware that it won't always "touch" when you want it to.

1 out of 5 eggsDead Spots

Pros: ...

Cons: I thought maybe my screen needed recalibrating. As it turns out, the screen has two big dead spots in it and I'm stuck with it because I've had it too long to return. What a freaking rip off!

2 out of 5 eggsNot a fan of Optical

Pros: Has a good picture which is why I picked it. Perfect size for what I needed.

Cons: Really disappointed with just how bad the Optical touchscreen works.
I use it to touch small buttons and it is just not precise at all (yes I have calibrated it over and over).
Sometimes does not even detect touch at all. Other times the point is so far away from where I touched.
A small bug can set your mouse off.
Just wanted to write a review to warn others not to get Optical technology in their touchscreen.
I have three 27" monitors above this one. I work in 3D industry.
Came back to Newegg tonight to find a non optical touchscreen and put this one in the house for less precise work.

Also you must look at it straight on or the colors distort. Mine is at a slight angle to fit under my other screen and I can not use it for any color or texture work (kinda my job).

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and look for a more modern solution. Optical touch is old technology.
My mistake getting this one.

LOVE MY NEWEGG!!! I will have a new touchscreen this week with a few clicks here.

4 out of 5 eggsfor windos 8

Pros: work like a charm, the vesa walmount is standard size
if you dont have a wall mount, let it sit on something 24 inch high righ beside you.
I use it as a second screen, with windows 8 for work.
it is the best thing I have to navigate through plan in pfd file in full screen as my cad is open on the other screen.

- you can also use it to put you toolbar on for program like sketch up. so you have a full screen to work and a second screen for toolbar that you can select with touch

Cons: it is IR
so it mean the object touching the screen need to be a certain size to detect.. if you have a small tip touch pen, it will probably not work. so you might need the bulky one(I have not try it so I can't bet it'll work flawlessly

3 out of 5 eggsNo XP support!

Pros: Beautiful monitor! Bight, crisp, clear display

Cons: No support for XP, whatsoever. I confess, I took for granted that they would provide at least fundamental XP support. None. Zip. Zilch. Zero. It really would have been nice to know this before purchase, paying for rush delivery, and so forth.

Other Thoughts: Situational: Have an Windows XP Embedded system that uses a touchscreen interface. Dell offers ZERO Windows XP support with this device. We have to go to a grossly-overpriced model just to replace a dead screen. This particular machine has no internet connectivity and is industrial in nature.
On a side note: I searched Dell for drivers for similar devices, in an effort to stumble upon a compatible driver. There appear to be none. It seems Dell has taken the 'end of xp = end of xp drivers!' approach. Pity. It's a good looking monitor, but now it has to go back.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal!

Pros: Bought this unit for a piece of automation we're building. Great resolution and performance. Didn't use stand or anything, just mounted on wall mount.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Great deal, easy to instal and configure, very straight forward, will buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsToughy-Feely

Pros: We purchased this to use with our P(oint)O(f)S(ale) system. The program we use (TFBO) does work work well with this monitor. It did take awhile to find a decent resolution that looked correct. The touch screen is responsive and so far we haven't had any problems. It does come with a cloth for cleaning the screen

Cons: As usual with 90% of anything you buy, very poor manual. Doesn't even mention loading drivers to use with the touch-screen, only the display drivers.

Other Thoughts: After a month it is still working. Hopefully it stays that way.

Bad NEWEGG. Would not let the abbreviation for Point Of Sale through.
