5 out of 5 eggsNice Monitor

Pros: Nice high resolution monitor with very thin borders. I purchased two and use in a dual monitor configuration. The thin border makes for a near seamless transition between the two monitors. Also has no menu buttons, but on-off and menu controls are like touch-screen, but on the monitor border.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Like a dummy, I didn't check the inputs on this monitor. There are no VGA or DVI inputs, only HDMI, DisplayPort, and mini-DisplayPort, so ensure you have a corresponding graphics card or adapter.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat screen, terrible everything else

Pros: The monitors look great, and the thin bezels are excellent for multi-monitor setups.

Cons: I want to give these a higher rating, but there are a few reason I can't. Had I done more research before buying, I would have been aware of these issues, especially using two of them.

The DP has a known issue in multi-monitor setups where the monitor doesn't want to wake up after being asleep. You have to either disconnect and reconnect the monitor or turn it off and back on. HDMI also has an issue since the monitor apparently does not transmit its UDID correctly which causes it to be detected as "Generic PnP Monitor". This causes issues with the resolution being wrong. You will also need to manually set which type of connection you are using in the monitor's menu since it will not detect this on its own. There are numerous complaints online dating back to early last year that Dell has apparently acknowledged, yet there is still no fix for these issues.

My last gripe wouldn't be such a big deal if I didn't have to restart my monitor every time my pc falls asleep. The touch controls are not very responsive, and I usually have to try two or more times for them to register my touch.

Bottom line: Look for a better monitor.

2 out of 5 eggsNot the best

Pros: Physically the monitors look appealing, and the USB port on the back is somewhat nice.

Cons: Both of the monitors I've ordered seemingly have scratches. I couldn't tell you why or how they would have happened (one is very deep).

I ordered two monitors, and side by side the color on them is NOT the same. This is especially noticeable on white. It is very noticeable that one of the monitors is much duller than the other.

The touch screen controls leave something to be desired. They are usable, but you will have to tap repeatedly.

Other Thoughts: I would not re-purchase these, and I would suggest that you look at other monitors. There are likely better, cheaper alternatives.

4 out of 5 eggsMarvelous to see

Pros: Stunning to see. Once you view it, you'll look at any other style and think it's clunky. The picture is crisp, and viewable at any angle. Works on Display port/HDMI/VGA/DVI
My office coworkers are Jealous and some have these in Dual setup and that is amazing. The screen look almost like its floating in air.

That nearly imperceptible frame is so nice. Color is vibrant

Cons: Dell has touch/pressure senisitve buttons in the lower frame. It's not that they are awkward, its that they suck. I cannot believe Dell even let this get past the workbench. The touch menu will work if you fiddle with it long enough. and once there you'll love this thing.
Another con: the stupid thing wont auto-search inputs. So you must initially use the clunky and unresponsive touch menu to eventually tell the monitor to use your input of choice.

Other Thoughts: On any other offering the poorly executed controls would be a deal killer. However, they work..eventually. and for most folks once you have it set you don't need to use the menu thereafter. For me it's still worth it to buy this otherwise marvelous monitor

Note: if you are daisy-chaining multiple monitors using Display Port, be sure your computer supports DP1.2 and you must use the menu to activate DP1.2 mode. Otherwise it will appear not to work at all.

3 out of 5 eggsIntegration Fail

Pros: All around good picture quality and responsiveness, low profile bezel looks great, stand is solid, and onboard audio output is decent quality.
So basically the minimum functionality for a premium monitor is there.

Cons: Using the power button cuts power to the USB hub if the hub is connected to a PC, but optionally not if the hub is acting as a power source only for some reason. This makes the hub useless for input devices in some cases.
The power button also messes with my AMD video card connected via DisplayPort. It reverts to 1024x768 and moves all the windows from my DVI accessory screen to the main desktop for some reason. I dunno if it's an AMD or Dell problem, but it seems from here like these monitors have unnecessary issues with all 3 of the big GPU vendors.
Minor nitpicks, but still annoying: the touch button markings are difficult to see with the monitor on, the touch buttons themselves suck, the rear panel connections are labeled in black on black with super tiny font, and the HDMI ports are really close to the monitor's back wall, which makes them difficult to use with some cables.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat design, superb picture quality. No issues so far.

Pros: Great design, very sharp looking. The thin bezel is very nice and I am considering buying a 2nd so I can put them side by side. It has all the inputs/outputs I want, including 3.5mm audio out so I can play my xbox through it and plug in some speakers to get the audio through the DVI/HDMI cable. The picture quality is fantastic.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: I bought this on Newegg when it was on sale for $200 and I have no regrets. If it goes on sale again I will probably get another one.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Sharp, Not Smart

Pros: Great looking monitor with height, tilt and swivel adjustments - but that's about all.

Cons: Does not detect what port the video line is connected to whether HDMI (2 ports) or Display Port. You have to manually enter the extremely finicky On Screen Display (OSD) in order to switch from one port to another. So don't plan on using this monitor if you are a system admin with a switcher - you'll go nuts trying to manually change the port selected for video input.
Also, the touch interface for power and the OSD is worse than useless. Initially, I couldn't get power on the monitor at all. I ended up having to call Dell customer service for help and they couldn't offer any except to tell me to return it. Ultimately, by some sheer luck, my finger touched the sensor in just the right way to turn the monitor on, just as I was pulling the leads to box it back up.
Finally, the display isn't that sharp - I was disappointed with it: My son has the ultrasharp 2312M I believe it is.. much better than this monitor and well worth the small increase in cost.

Other Thoughts: You need a secret decoder ring to find and obtain Dell customer support. The frustration there is easily worth $50 to buy a better monitor. The fact that this monitor cannot auto detect the input and requires manually switching the input ports on extremely fickle and insensitive touch buttons is a real deal breaker for most work at home or office situations.
Overall, I'm disappointed in this product.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Stunning display, great color and brightness, super thin bezel - will be placing order for 2nd (maybe even a 3rd) very shortly.

Cons: none thus far

Other Thoughts: yeah the touch buttons are a PITA but will rarely touch them. USB 3.0, HDMI, display port, Height adjustment, IPS, the list goes on and on....Fantastic Display...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Owned for ~6 months so far. Primarily used for gaming (FPS, MMO, RPG, Sims) as well as web browsing. Very crisp and clear colors, good blacks and no noticeable trails. Monitor controls are easy to use, lack of physical buttons can be annoying once in a while but not enough to subtract an egg. Fully adjustable stand (side twist + up/down) is a big plus, especially if your desk isn't ergonomic like my current one.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsBest for multiple

Pros: Thin Bezel
Sharp Colors

Cons: The stupid menu (how often do you go in the menu?)

Other Thoughts: The only thing alot of people have against this is the menu. You only go in the menu to get them set up. It is a little bit of a pain, but now where near taking an egg away. Ordering one more to add to my two. They look really nice together.
