5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for gaming!

Pros: I bought 3 of these for a three monitor setup. Now I mostly use the middle for gaming, left for streaming video and right monitor for browsing. The size is perfect I believe and the colors are amazing to me coming from non-IPS panels in the past. I see no ghosting in gaming. Just make though you have your video driver set to 0-255 RGB or you will see washed out colors. You can set your gaming systems to this mode as well.

Nvidia drivers now fully support switching to 0-255 so earlier gripes no longer apply. Just simply remember to enable the setting for each monitor. Sometimes Nvidia surround messes up and some of the monitors might be washed out. To resolve this you need to set a custom refresh rate for each monitor with separate values. I use 60, 61 and 62 for each individual monitor. After that the 0-255 colors kicks off without a hitch. However, with the latest Nvidia drivers I haven't had to do this anymore.

-The panel adjustments are nice, easy to setup triple setup.
-I love the sleek design.
-The thin bezel is incredible for triple monitor setup or for looking good aesthetically even if you have one.
-The price is fair knowing the quality of sRGB mode
-No dead pixels or imperfections on all 3 monitors ordered at once.
-Good selection of ports to use and the ability to daisy chain these monitors together works flawlessly.

I play FFXIV most of all and let me tell you, this game looks beautiful now in DX11 with heavensward! I'm blown away with the colors and performance of this monitor.

Cons: -Like everyone else I really don't like the touch sensitive buttons especially having 3 of these.

Other Thoughts: I will buy Dell Ultra-sharp IPS again in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsNew revision is perfect!

Pros: I initially got a Rev 1 manufactured in June 2014 which had defective buttons which would stop working. But the replacement I got from Dell is Rev 3 which is perfect. Excellent display, DP 1.2 with chaining 2 of them is working great. Minimal light bleed and good uniform color.

Cons: Some earlier versions of this monitor had multiple issues regarding buggy DP 1.2 chaining. Buttons stop responding after some time. Light bleed in some panels. (I saw bad light bleed in a display unit in Micro Center.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you get a newer model with Rev 2 or higher then all will be good!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for multi-monitor

Pros: Good color
Elegant design
Narrow Bezel

Cons: Doesn't auto detect input

The stands don't hold the monitors totally level, so getting 3 to line up on a desk is tricky. I hope to get a 3 monitor stand eventually to fix that.

When computer is off and they are not receiving signal they go into power save mode, in which the power light flashes. The light is quite bright, and with 3 of them in my bed room it forces me to power them off every night and remember to turn them on when booting my computer. As the flashing light is an annoyance when I'm trying to sleep.

Other Thoughts: I bought 3 of these to use in a multi monitor set up (replacing one 30" and a 21") gives me about the same number of pixels (just set up wider). Great for graphic design or 3D art creation work.

I have had no problem with the touch buttons (like some reviews were complaining about). And the On Screen Display (OST) works better than on many other monitors I have used.

I'm quite happy with these, would have given it 4.5 eggs if I could. I couldn't give it 5 eggs for the powersave light and the lack of auto detect on the inputs.

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality display

Pros: When properly calibrated, this display has very good color reproduction and dynamic range - 100% sRGB color space, and roughly 84% of the Adobe color space. If you do photo editing or graphics work for the web, this display will fit your needs. People who regularly make prints might want to consider spending the extra cash on a display that covers most of the Adobe color space. If you only print occasionally or aren't bothered by very minor differences between what you see on screen and what comes out of your printer (though, there are ways of calibrating both to match), save your money and buy this monitor.

As one should expect from an IPS display, off-axis viewing angles are exceptional. I appreciate the plethora of DisplayPort and HDMI inputs - no clunky DVI or VGA ports here. The bezel around the top and sides is quite thin, and it constantly reminds me how ugly the bezel was on my previous display. Though it's a minor positive item, I like the placement of the white power light on the underside of the bottom bezel. When working in low light, it's not as distracting as it would be if it were on the front.

Cons: What frustrates me the most about this display is the flat capacitive menu input on the bottom bezel. I have perfect vision, and I constantly misjudge where the power and menu 'buttons' are in less than optimal light. The printing for the menu inputs is low contrast - dark gray against matte black (if you check the product images above, you'll understand what I'm getting at). There are no raised points or icons, so you can't really do anything by feel. The OSD menus are fine, once actuated, but operating the buttons to do anything is annoying.

Another minor complaint that I have is the pivot for the base to provide swiveling is a little stiff. More often, I find that I'm moving the stand when I swivel the display left or right.

Other Thoughts: Obviously, the few cons I have with this display are not enough to mar my otherwise great experience. I use this monitor for work with Lightroom for outputting photos to the web, and I calibrate my displays with a Datacolor Spyder 4. In terms of sRGB color accuracy and overall image quality, there is little to complain about, so long as you're willing to go through the effort to calibrate this monitor. People looking for Adobe color accuracy might want to look at more professional offerings available.

I can't really speak to performance beyond what I primarily use this monitor for, so please look to other reviews for comments on how it behaves when gaming or watching movies (I generally only watch the occasional YouTube video, which always look horrid in full-screen due to compression). I also can't speak to using this monitor when daisy-chained to another monitor - though it looks like all one needs to do is read the manual to make that work and not hook it up to a Surface Pro 3. (Why anyone would do that is beyond me, anyway.)

The only previous complaint that I can give credence to is the slightly non-uniform backlighting across the screen. This appears to be an issue across most large LED displays, regardless of their origins. Even though I mapped the hot/cold spots on my monitor, just to know where they were, the difference overall wasn't great enough to warrant a mention as a con. Most CRT displays weren't perfect in this respect, either, so the fact that it's still an ongoing issue with LCD panels is nothing new to me.

Again, overall, this is a fantastic monitor, and certainly a good value.

5 out of 5 eggsVery impressed

Pros: I am primarily using this for gaming purposes. I bought this to use alongside a 144 Hz monitor, mostly used for movies and reading.

The physical bezel is ~2 mm thick. There is also an internal border around the panel, about 4 mm thick. However, even considering the internal border, the overall bezel is very very slim. The monitor looks beautiful and high quality.

Stand is rock solid and does not budge at all. Rotating base, height, and swivel adjustment is a plus.

Input lag is very low, and ghosting from the typical IPS response time is a non-issue even with fast motion.

Cons: No DVI port. Not really a con as this is something you'd research before purchasing. Still would have been nice.

DisplayPort and HDMI input can often result in the monitor (not unique to this one) to be recognized by the GPU as a TV rather than monitor. As a result, the GPU may send RGB 16-235 rather than full RGB 0-255 color range. This requires you to manually adjust from your graphics drivers to use the full RGB range (nvidia recently added this option in their drivers after years of complaints). I have a feeling the people complaining about washed out colors did not configure this properly.

Many negative reviews talk about the DisplayPort 1.2 daisy chain function to be very unreliable. I do not plan to use that, so it's not a con for me... but if you are planning to buy 3 of these at a time for a multimonitor daisy chained setup, it may be a risk.

2 out of 5 eggsFrustrating.

Pros: Good color consistency.
Sleek design.
No ghosting when gaming.
Adjustable height. Still doesn't raise very high though. So if you want it at eye level plan on still setting something under the stand. And I'm not even that tall (5'8").

Cons: Touch sensitive monitor controls won't respond consistently. Have to press them just right or they wont respond.
DP doesn't work the majority of the time or stops responding. Don't plan on daisy chaining the DPs. So don't make the mistake i did and buy two of these monitors to dual screen if you only have one HDMI port on your video card. HDMI works fine though.
Colors are not THAT vibrant. Hope your going to be using this in a dark room.

Other Thoughts: I don't see Dell ever making an attempt to fix these issues if they haven't yet. The fact that these cost this much is ridiculous. Also, keep in mind these monitors don't have DVI ports. First and last time I ever buy a Dell product. This is ridiculous.

1 out of 5 eggsMini-display not working

Pros: Works with HDMI
I like the software from Dell that lets me break one monitor in different sections.
Beautiful monitor

Cons: Doesn't work with Mini-display to display cable that came with the monitor. I purchase two of these and neither one of them work with the cable provided. Both monitors work perfectly fine with a HDMI connection. But I only have one HDMI connection on my card.
Dell customer support actually made me mad. My girl was laughing because she has never seen me get mad over anything, but this guy was just so dumb it made me physically sick.

Other Thoughts: I love these monitors, they look beautiful and also provide a very good picture. But when you actually do a google search for this monitor you will see videos and articles regarding the display port issue. That is a bad sign. I still have yet to fix me issue with the mini display port and if i can find something that makes it work, I will change me review. Because currently I can only use one of the two monitors that I have paid for because the DP doesn't want to work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitors

Pros: Picture looks great. Buttons function perfectly, Display port 1.2 works perfectly with a triple monitor daisy chain set up.

Cons: The menu buttons sometimes (rarely) don't register a touch event.

Other Thoughts: Don't let these Display port 1.2 MST negative reviews scare you. If you know what you're doing and play with the settings it works 100%.
Pro Tip: Make sure when you set these up for the first time to enable Display port 1.2 on all of the monitors. When you first enable it, the screens may show blank and require a reboot to allow your GPU to adjust it settings. After that they work great, even when coming out of sleep mode.

3 out of 5 eggsDP Daisychaining has consistent issues

Pros: Base is solid, easily adjusted
Very thin bezel
Setup is easy

Cons: Displayport daisychaining from Surface Pro 3 dock consistently fails, often doesn't work at all
Picture not very bright, even at maximum

Other Thoughts: I bought 32 of these monitors for my office. They consistently have problems that I have to fix, and I thoroughly regret purchasing them.

We've been using the Displayport 1.2 feature to daisychain these monitors. This feature is very spotty--several people in my office have had to resort to hard resets of the monitors after daisychaining mysteriously stopped working correctly. In at least two cases, daisychaining one monitor to the other never worked--but if I reversed the order, it did work. Inexplicable! Our particular setup involves Surface Pro 3s in docking stations, and problems usually (but not always) occur after the Surface has been disconnected from and then reconnected to the dock.

If you're looking to buy monitors for a dual-monitor setup with daisy-chained Displayport, find a different monitor. The Dell U2414H has some bugs to work out before daisychaining works correctly.
