For starters, it has a power supply with greater than 85% efficiency and it has a low-power panel, which means it is more efficient than previous Performance Series models. The HP ZR22w helps achieve maximum accuracy with leading-edge visual performance technologies in an affordable package. This display's S-IPS panel, with native sRGB-class performance (96% coverage of sRGB), provides an accurate representation of the colors used in engineering, creative and professional applications for enhanced on-screen color accuracy. With 16.7 million displayable colors, 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and ultra-wide viewing angles, the ZR22w delivers outstanding visual performance. Inputs include HDCP-compliant DisplayPort and DVI, as well as VGA. Finally, convenience is maximized with the integrated 4-port USB hub and the HP Quick Release

Adjustment Features

The HP ZR22w enables maximum comfort and best visual positioning with an 8-way comfort adjust stand that provides tilt, pivot, swivel, and height adjustability in the column, helping increase comfort and productivity throughout the day. 1 out of 5 eggsbeware of this monitor stand

Pros: Has Displayport port and stand that does potrait mode.

Cons: You can easily drop this if you are unfamiliar with the mounting. The screen will slide right off the stand and break. It doesn't come with instructions to warn you of this.

Also, the color is very dim in the refurbished monitor that I got. Only viewable at night.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely not buy again.

2 out of 5 eggsDefinitely not refurbished

Pros: 22 inch monitor with heavy duty stand that tilts, swivels and has height adjustment.

Cons: Monitor is very used and not refurbished. Stand was different than what was pictured and was huge. Monitor was dirty and dusty and not at all what I would considered refurbished. Monitor powered on and all looked ok at first but then the screen got very dim. Adjustments to settings and powering off and on did not fix. Tried connecting to another pc but had same issue with very dim screen. Also monitor would not sync to some screen resolutions and caused screen to shift way to the right.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was great with return authorization. Thank goodness I am Newegg Premier member so I do not have to pay the $27 to ship it back.

3 out of 5 eggsQuality Monitor - Bad Packaging - Many Defects

Pros: -Great color (at least on two out of five of the monitors that I received)
-High quality stand
-Displayport input
-Nice OSD and OSD accessible configuration options. For example the monitor lets you choose a default input and the behaviour when plugging in a new input (should it automatically switch to the new source?)

Cons: -Three out of the five monitors that I ended up receiving needed to be returned due to various defects. These defects included the screen being very dim, colors having a reddish tint, dark spots on the LCD due to LCD damage and scratches to the surface of the LCD
-The packaging for this product was terrible. It came with foam specially designed to fit the monitor and the box. The foam can actually touch the surface of the LCD during shipping which I don't think actually contributed to damage but generally isn't done. The box was barely taped together - on two of the boxes I received the tape was partially broken leaving the box barely hanging together. The biggest problem with the packaging was the cables which were left to rattle around freely in the box. This is likely what cause the LCD damage and scratches to the LCD surface that I saw on the majority of the monitors that I received.
-The stand doesn't allow the screen to sit perfectly horizontal. You would never notice this unelss you try to have multples screens sitting directly next to each other. This was consistent on every monitor that I received and appears to be a design flaw.
-The stand is slightly wider than the LCD panel when in portrait mode. This wasn't a problem for me but could be a problem if you wanted to have multple monitors in protrait mode directly next to each other.
-I definitely wouldn't consider these monitors refurbished in comparison to other refurbished products I have received from other vendors. One of the monitors I received had a particularly reddish and dim LCD. If this were truly a refurbished product the CCFL tubes on that monitor would have been replaced and the screen would have been great. One of the monitors even had a dusty boot print on the stand of the monitor when I removed it from the box.
-These monitors were listed as "Grade A" which I also feel is misleading. That said, I couldn't find a definition of Newegg's refurbishment grades so for all I know there are "Grade AAA" products meaning that these monitors aren't the top grade and some defects were to be expected.

Other Thoughts: -Due to Newegg's default policy of making you cover return shipping for defective items I ended up purchasing Newegg premier to get the free return shipping labels. I know if I hassled customer service for free return shipping label I probably would have received it but hassling customer service is also a hassle for me.
-I would advise against purchasing multiples of these monitors to use in a multiple monitor configuration. When put side-by-side you are likely to get monitors that have very different brightnesses and color tints.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent 21.5" HP Monitor

Pros: Solid and well-built HP product -- beware those labeled "de-branded HP" because they are not related to anything HP. These units are 100% HP in every aspect. The technology is dated 5 years but the color ranges, hue spectrums and related are quite good.
The stand is one of the best I've encountered. While VESA mountable elsewhere, you will probably enjoy the quick release stem that has a taller than average maximum height and disengages quickly and easily and mounts again with same ease.
It accepts DVI (good for legacy systems), VGA and HDMI. Below $95 I recommend this product

Cons: Less energy efficient and less range of colors than modern LED monitors; warranty as is . . . risk of failing but mine has worked well for 8 months.

2 out of 5 eggsOne of them died

Pros: The monitors look great. They come with a display port. they can be swiveled vertically, and come with good solid stand. Very good choice if you are looking for a budget monitor.

Cons: Terrible packaging. One of my monitors died, there is a problem with one monitors display port, I have had to switch to DVI for that one.

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these in October and loved it so much i decided to get two more for an eyefinity set up in December. All monitors were working great once I got past the display port issue stated above. Then about a week and a half ago one of them started to get very hot in one corner, i mean to the point that I could not barely touch it. Granted the these monitors are cool to the touch. Then the other day it just went black and I cant get it to turn on for longer than a few seconds. From what I gather a capacitor may have blown. I am sure it can be fixed and I may do that instead of replacing it.

1 out of 5 eggsUSED one, not reburb

Pros: cheap, IPS, FHD, USB hub
Ext is clean and nearly no scratch

Cons: It is a heavily USED monitor, NOT a refurb. The back-light showed 16891 hrs from the monitor info when I got it. 16891 hrs requires 12 yrs if used 4hrs/day, and 6 yrs with 8hrs/day, 4 yrs with 12hrs/day, 2 yrs with 24hrs/day. So this monitor was heavily used for a long time.
The monitor is very dim and its color temp is low. I have another 20" HP monitor which has the same brightness (250cd/m^2). And the 20" one is much more brighter and the color looks much cooler, although both are set to 100% brightness and sRGB. Even a 10 yrs old monitor is brighter than this. It is so dim that the reflected light dominates screen light then it is hard to see the screen. With other monitors, the screen light dominate reflected light then there is no problem to see.
It seems that they did NOT change the heavily used (16891 hrs) back-light, since dim and low color temp generally come a back-light. Refurb means to change degraded parts, not just clean and pack again.

Other Thoughts: It is CLEANED by an 3rd party company US Micro corp, NOT HP. The item description does not mention it. Newegg even shows HP as the manufacturer to contact, as quoted below. This make to think that it is refurbed by HP. Even the cleaning is not good and I can even see cleaning residue from the screen.
It came with just a D-Sub cable which is useless. New Radeon even does not have a D-Sub out.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Screen looks good with no dead pixels or other artifacts. Mount works as designed. It was packed adequately and there was no shipping damage; however, it was shipped from an adjoining state.

Cons: I would not call this refurbished. It is better to call this corporate surplus. There was a bad scratch across the mount tray and other obvious signs of where.

Other Thoughts: In spite of "cons" the price makes this a good value, hence the 4 stars. It could have got 5 stars if the condition was described better.

1 out of 5 eggsSuch a hassle to return

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Refurbished, short for "We have some monitors rattling around in a box that power on, lets sell em." These are definitely not refurbished by the factory due to shoddy packaging and poor quality control.

Other Thoughts: This is a follow up to my previous review. I RMA'd one of these monitors and it's been a hassle to say the least. Newegg was nice enough to cover return shipping. Unfortunately I returned the monitor in the box for the 2nd identical unit I bought, so the barcode label on the box was wrong. Definitely my fault, but no one mentioned this when creating the RMA. Newegg wouldn't process the RMA without the correct label even though the serial number of the unit I returned is correct. The only way they would take the monitor back is with the correct box. No amount of reasoning would make them change their stance. Otherwise they would take the monitor back but charge me 25% for the missing label! Luckily I found the correct box. I offered to send them a scan of the label or physically mail them the label back- no go, they want the whole box. So now I'm taping up an empty box to ship back to them! This monitor should have never been sold in the first place with 5+ bad pixels and the OSD issue. I'm hoping once I get them the box returned this mess will be over. They have promised store credit, but now I see these are back in stock. The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their mind and sent out another refurbished unit. This whole thing has soured me on Newegg and refurbished products for sure. Beware of refurbished! Spend some more money and buy a new unit.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Product, if its not damaged in Shipping.

Pros: I got it with the intention of using two in portrait mode.

Very decent product for the price.

Cons: Poorly packaged and cables come loose potentially scratching surface.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2, one was sent back for a RMA - Refund (Newegg paid for the UPS label)

So much hassle to still risk a dead pixel. Should have bought one new.
