4 out of 5 eggsJust Purchased 15 More....

Pros: Excellent Picture!! Perfect amount of inputs. Very thin and light weight. VESA mountable.

Cons: Build quality isn't the best, but overall not too bad.

Other Thoughts: This is my second review. I ended up purchasing 15 more of these units. So i think we are somewhere north of 40 total now. These are the absolute perfect "Budget" monitors! No, they probably are not as nice as one of the $350 plus Samsung or NEC monitors. However, for $200 less, you really can't complain. The speakers kinda suck, but then again I have yet to hear a decent speaker in a monitor. Not even in the super high end monitors. So I don't consider that a con. The only reason I knocked 1 egg off is because they seem to be cheaply put together. I am not expecting them to last much longer than 2 years, maybe 3. However, for the price, size and picture quality I would say these are probably the best monitors We have purchased for our offices. In fact so much so that I got the last couple Newegg.com had and cleaned out three other vendors on A ma zon.com to fill my last purchase of 15. So if you see them out there I would strongly recommend snatching them up while you can. They are becoming more and more difficult to get your hands on. I'm guessing they are being discontinued or the manufacturer is having supply problems shipping them from China to the States.

4 out of 5 eggsSOLID MONITOR

Pros: Beautiful visuals -- clean lines -- ease-of-use -- HDMI compliant.

Cons: Workmanship not first-level -- sound is terrible!

Other Thoughts: For price, a solid performer if you are not an audiophile.

4 out of 5 eggsShocked!!!

Pros: Excellent picture, very thin, and very light weight, and amazing price for a 23/24 inch LED/LCD monitor..

Cons: Build quality seems very cheap! Not sure how it will hold up for long term use. Hoping to get at least 2 years but it doesn't look promising.

Other Thoughts: I order about 30 or so monitors a year for the company I work for. Out of all of them I think the UpStar has about the best quality picture I have seen on an LCD yet. Please keep in mind I have not purchased any of the really high end monitors ($300 and up for 23" or 24" LCD monitors). So not sure how well they would hold up against any of those. These are probably the best monitors I have come across for office use. As stated in the "cons" the build quality is cheap! The power plug doesn't even go in all the way on the six I purchased this time around. I am hoping they will last at least two or three years. But we will see.

If you need a good picture and are not too worried about longevity, then you should definitely take these monitors into consideration!

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost embarrassed to admit how much I like it.

Pros: Cheap. Not one, not two, but three different types of video inputs. Audio in -- and audio out. Solid picture. Speakers. I kinda feel weird giving it five stars -- I mean, it's a cheap no-name; there's gotta be *something* wrong, right? If so, I haven't found it. So I'm giving it the rating it deserves. Heck: I even really liked the little screw they sent along that you plug the base in with. And buttons! For-real buttons! I *HATE* monitors where you just wave your hand around and hope you press near the right place for power, or whatever. Good design, good features, good price, five stars. Done.

Cons: I'm sure there are some out there who will find fault with something about the video, or who will put down the speakers. The video's fine by me, and the speakers are about what you'd expect: I mean, we're not talking a sound system, here, we're talking monitor speakers. For what they are, they're great. I'm a heavy-duty Linux guy, and two of the most recent servers I bought don't have audio out (one's an ARM reference board by Samsung, the other's an Intel "NUC" 4"x4" system). And I was kinda bummed to have to plug USB headphones in to get any sound. This monitor does the job, and nicely.

Other Thoughts: It kinda blows me away that I can get a monitor like this, for this price, when back in '99 I spent *$2200* for a 1600x1024 17" LCD. The times, they're a-changing.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Monitor

Pros: Nice Monitor for the price
Working good for desktop use and gaming.

Cons: Sits a little crooked. Might just be the desk.

Other Thoughts: For the money, this has been a great monitor so far. I've recommended it to several friends.

Pros: Colors are good once properly balanced
Auto button is very help for fullsceen gaming

Cons: Speakers are a joke
Contrast ratio in low and it's quite apparent
Customer support is rude and unresponsive

Other Thoughts: Good learning experience on first pc build. Go with name brands because you'll get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Screen Bleh Stand

Pros: Inexpensive and Pretty

Cons: There is no tilt feature on the stand. Since the stand height is 2" I had to set it on top of a 4" dictionary to look at it straight on.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Bargain Monitor

Pros: Nice picture
Great color
Good saturation, brightness and contrast levels
Auto-picture adjust is excellent. This makes the menu buttons pretty much unnecessary (although they are there if you should ever need them).

Cons: No DVI Cable!
Base is flimsy

Other Thoughts: The accompanying manual indicates that there should be an RGB and DVI cable. The DVI cable was wither missing or not included. Thank goodness, I had a DVI to RGB adapter in my kit or I would not have gotten this monitor to function at all.
For the price, this is a very decent monitor. The flimsy base is set into the monitor with a single thumb screw. This is not a HUGE issue as generally the monitor is setup one time and just stays there. It requires some patience and a little finess to get the monitor all the way down and secured to the base.

I gave 3 eggs because improvements to the stability of the base should not be a costly issue and would make the already limited adjustments, much more stable.

No DVI cable... Really? What current video card uses RGB? Hopefully, this was just an oversight and this monitor DOES come with this cable.

4 out of 5 eggsHidden Treasure

Pros: SHARP. Like whoa... This thing was a surprise.. Had never heard of this brand before and was a little nervous about ordering it.. but needed a cheap, HDMI input 24 inch monitor, and quick for a design build... $140. That's all. It also has speakers too!! (if you're into that sort of thing) ofcourse these speakers aren't amazing.. but are actually also surprisingly loud, True colors as well! Have not used HDMI yet, as cable is still in mail. (am using a VGA Cable with DVI Adapter) It also arrived next day...

Cons: Honestly... not much to say here.. except.. sometimes when the screen is black I can see these faded gray lines about a third into the monitor on each side. It's not bad or consistent enough to return.. but still something to point out.

Other Thoughts: All in all quite a surprise... If you're reading this.. I suggest just buying the thing. The $140 was well worth it.
