4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Very good product, sturdy, instructions are simple, very easy to install

Cons: None with the product. Bought this before up sizing my monitor to an Acer America G276HL LCD Monitor. Doesn't weight enough for this arm. Too bad.

5 out of 5 eggsWarning! Minimum Weight!

Pros: Solid sturdy arm. I have two others at the moment that have served me well for years.

Cons: Minimum Weight of monitor is 14 pounds.

If the monitor you're purchasing has LED lighting instead of a fluorescent lighting, and is smaller than 33", it will probably weigh less than 14 pounds, and you will need the LX version of this arm instead.

Other Thoughts: Please note the return policy on this item is that it is a 'non-refund' item, and you won't know it's the wrong arm until you've mounted your monitor and it's staring at the ceiling even after adjusting the tension screws all the way, so you'll be returning an open item with a %15 restocking fee.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply the best for larger monitors

Pros: This is a rock solid adjustable arm that can take the weight of a 30" monitor (there are very few that can take this kind of weight). The only plastic involved are the covers for the cord channels. You can adjust the tension of the springs to make arm more stiff/loose depending upon how much you move your monitor.

I can effortlessly move my giant monitor with one hand, and the most beautiful thing of all is that it STAYS PUT once I get it where I want it (doesn't sag or "spring" out of place from the exact place I've positioned it).

Cons: It would be nice if it could be longer to give a little more reach, but I have a feeling physics is mostly to blame, not the product.

Other Thoughts: The first reviewer needs to change his/her egg rating. Giving something 3 out of 5 because of your own ineptitude throws off the rating system of the product. You need Ergotron to "sign off" on you loosening the tension nut that your are SUPPOSED to loosen for lighter monitors? This just doesn't make any sense.

Also, that reviewer states that the arm "adds a lot of height." I have no idea what this person is doing, but they are definitely doing it *wrong.* My monitors sit about an inch off of the desk to which they are mounted. I can push them down and they will sit right on the desk surface, and if the desk wasn't there, they could go lower. This arm ads no height whatsoever.

This is a high quality stand, and the only moveable (not static mounted) one I've used thus far that doesn't have me worrying about my very heavy $2,000 monitor crashing to the desk or floor.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: -Moves my 27inch monitor freely and easily, simply adjust and let go and it stays.

-Rotates 90 degrees, moves up and down, side to side, back and forth, and tilts forward and backward.

-Comes with a nice tool that lets you adjust tension for different monitors.

This arm really is full motion. I have another so called "full motion" arm that doesn't do half of what this one does.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT Product

Pros: stable adjustable

Cons: None. The dude above me simply doesn't get it. It is tight somply because it can hold up to 30" & 30#. If your monitor falls lower than that, adjust the tension on the joint!!!!! You get the d*@n tools included to do it. Don't knock eggs off a product because you don't know how to use it.

Other Thoughts: This is a great product. Yes you can adjust the joint tension w/o messing it up or hurting the effectivness to do the job.

3 out of 5 eggsMostly a really good arm.

Pros: This is a pretty good product. The materials used are extremely high quality-- I have ZERO fear of this unit breaking, and it looks suave to boot. My monitors is now fancy free and mostly footloose.

Cons: Mostly.

Here's why the thing got only three eggs from me:
The first joint on the arm-- the 180 degree joint nearest the wall-- is SERIOUSLY hard to move on both units. It's like it's overtightened, or totally lubricated. While the other joints float easily, to pivot on the first joint I need to grab it directly and maneuver it with one hand, while holding the monitor with the other hand to make sure it doesn't swing into my other monitor or the wall or something. It makes the rear joint nearly useless, costing me several degrees of freedom. Adding silicone lube didn't help, and I'm not going to loosen the joint without Ergotron signing off that it will still be secure. Initially, I only took off one egg, but after some consideration, I'm giving this a "3". This seems like a really egregious oversight to me-- they obviously CAN make good joints, as evidenced by... the other joints on the arm.

So, that seriously needs to get fixed.

Other Thoughts: My only other minor issue is fastening options. It'd be nice if Ergotron included or sold an adapter (like those which come with the MX to adapt different mounting hole widths) to allow the arm to attach to the monitor off center. The arm adds a lot of height, and I am restricted in how I can mount it, so it would be nice to be able to lower the arm just a bit. I wouldn't take an egg off for this--it's a really specific problem-- I'm just sayin'.
