4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Stand, Fair (at Best) Price

Pros: This is my third Visidec display stand that I've puchased in the past few years. I've owned two of the single monitor arm / one laptop arm and they've been reliable and sturdy.

I used this stand for two 27" monitors that were pushing the specified weight limit to the edge, and the arms haven't had a problem holding them up.

I like how the product is designed, and how it goes together. It's simple and clean, and fully assembled in 30-45 minutes.

Cons: As others have said before, some of the components feel cheap, and the price is a little more than what I feel the product is worth. If it were under or around a hundred bucks then I'd happily give it five eggs.

The plastic cable holders that go underneath the arms don't do well with more than two cables unless your cables have very thin jackets, but this isn't really a big deal in my case. (monitors up against a wall, so big you can't see the space behind them)

Other Thoughts: The little cap on top of the main pole that holds the allen key is a nice touch. I always lose those things in my junk drawer. I just wish the price was a little more reasonable.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost a perfect monitor stand!

Pros: Unit has high quality arms, stand post as well as the desk mounting design. Mounting adapter to monitor is adjustable as well.

Cons: My only issue is that the monitor mounting adapter is made of cheap plastic and I am concerned over time will break or fatigue.

1 out of 5 eggsPay careful attention to connector size

Pros: Looks sturdy

Cons: Got this out of the box and the monitor connector hole pattern is non-standard. When realized the hole pattern was too small for the two monitors I planned to use it with, I checked it against four other flat panel monitors. All of the monitors turned out to be the same standard hole pattern. Monitor support device won't work for any of them. Now I have to repack it and send it back. I don't know what monitor this is made for, but it is not the standard hole pattern for flat panels...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mount

Pros: Fairly stable, excellent range of verticle and lateral locations.

Cons: If you plan on raising or lowering your monitors this might not be the product for you. The mount tends to "grab" on the verticle pole. To overcome this you will have to locate your hands on the arms at the proper center of gravity and carefully raise your monitors. For me this is not an issue.

Other Thoughts: I was pleased that this product allowed me to perfectly align two different monitors from different manufactures, since each had their own base with different heights giving the illussion that they would never match.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value Monitor Arm

Pros: This is an excellent value monitor arm set from what I can see. Yes, I just got it. However, I spent some time putting it together and going over the build quality, which is mostly what I want to comment on.

I've seen a lot of complaints that this monitor arm has a lot of plastic. IT DOES HAVE A LOT OF PLASTIC. However, it's less than $160 and has a full metal frame. What exactly would your expectation be?

I am using this monitor arm with two Acer S201HLbd monitors. These are 20" LED displays and they fit perfectly on the setup. The arms articulate well and there's enough clearance with this size monitor to push the arms all the way in.

The metal parts all seem as though they are made well (not machined improperly, no questionable fits). As long as you follow the directions, all of the plastic parts fit well also.

When assembling, make sure you use the included hex wrench and properly tighten the fitting behind the VESA mount points. Mine was loose by default and a slight adjustment tightened and made it much more sturdy.

Cons: I do agree with the comments I've seen that say that moving one monitor moves others. It doesn't bother me in my setup but I could see this as a valid concern for some.

I would NOT recommend this monitor arm for heavy monitors at all. The VESA mounts are plastic and will flex. Stick with light, mid-range LED monitors.

Other Thoughts: As I mentioned, I would stick with lighter monitors. My 20" monitors are just the right size to keep appropriate clearance from the center pole. Larger would probably be an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent mount

Pros: I have owned this mount for 2+ years and have yet to have any problems with it. I'd like to see something other than nylon mounts to hold onto the monitors but they work just fine.

People complain about the quality of the screw attachment ... maybe they should buy a REAL desk from somewhere other than walmart and they wouldn't have the issue.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsefficient SkyNet design

Pros: -cleans up any desk with 1 or 2 monitors
-covered in shiny metal
-flexible layout options for monitor(s)
-easy setup
-cleans up cables too!!
-out of the box it looks like something Cyberdyne would eventually commit to SkyNet's cause

Cons: -as expected, arms start to slightly sag due to weight of monitors.
-the vertical adjustment is REALLY tough to undo/adjust
-if the arms were a few inches longer between the joints, then the max size of recommended monitor would have better placement options for deeper desks.

Other Thoughts: I'm using thus arm for two Samsung 2343 BWX 23" LCD monitors with 100mm VESA option. It's exactly what I needed for lifting and "levitating" my monitors off the desk and it's wonderful to reclaim the space. The only issue is that my desk is a bit deep and so the arms force the monitors to be close and at minimal angle due to the distance they rest at from the base pillar. I had to use zip-ties to keep my fat DVI cables from falling out of the cable compartments of the arms and pillar. Perhaps the next version of this base could take into account the size of new DVI cables.

1 out of 5 eggsWeak desk clamp

Pros: This arm is made of quality material and does look very sleek

Cons: THe desk clamp is VERY poorly made, the is unstable and sideways (not perpendicular) because the clamp seat flat on the desk. I own an ergotron arm as well and they don't have that issue. The clamp also has very little contact on the table so if you try to extend the arm the problem becomes worse. I guess this arm is only design for super strong tables (not cheap ikea one)

Lastly the height cannot be adjusted individually so if you have two different monitor you'll most likely have one higher than the other and no way to adjust that unfortunately. Also adjusting the main pole height is a pain in the ***, you have to hold the two monitor first and have someone else unscrew it, without holding the arm put too much presure on the pole and they cannot slide

Other Thoughts: Avoid this product unless you have a STRONG table and identical monitors

4 out of 5 eggsGreat potential, but falls a bit short...

Pros: Stylish. Cable concealers are very nice and there is some nifty innovation like the top mount allen wrench holder. Has great potential to be an awesome product.

Cons: For starters the price is ridiculous. Nothing in this product merits it being over $100. I'm writing this right now as I am about to get a pipe wrench to losen the stupid locking mechanism that the arms sit on (it controls it going up/down). I BARELY tightened it and somehow it must have crossed over one of the plastic threads because me and 2 other fully grown men cannot losen this stupid thing. I've already called ATDEC and asked for a new one.

Other Thoughts: Something else to be aware of, maybe it was just mine but it's a little flimsy the way it fits on the main mount pole. You think it would slide on and be firm right? Nope....there is about a millimeter give on the slider so basically when it's all said and done, your monitors are never snug into place, they can free move just a little bit because of that gap. Again, just going back to flimsy design mechanism's that don't merrit it being over $100. Also if you have two 24" monitors you need to get the VF-AT-D-TAA product, this only holds up to two 20" or two 22" ones I believe.

All in all, this is probably still one of the best ones out there but the company BADLY needs to hire someone with higher than a 10 IQ to fix some of these issues.
