5 out of 5 eggsVery Fast

Pros: Seeing nearly double the speed of my old westell modem.

Cons: Kind of a bear to setup if you have a verizon DHCP account. Most of the problems were on Verizon's end though.

Other Thoughts: If you have a Verizon DHCP account, you have to get them to clear the old modems Mac address out of the routers before the modem will connect.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Stable. Easy to set up. Tries to be to much like a router.

Cons: You have to restart the device whenever you change a setting. Tries to be to much like a router

Other Thoughts: ATT will fight you on support if you use this modem.

5 out of 5 eggsAT&T/SBC DSL Replacement Modem

Pros: I purchased this DSL Modem to replace a failed SpeedStream/Siemens 5350. It's fully compatible with the DSL Service offered by AT&T (formerly SBC) in the SF Bay Area. The Modem worked right out of the box and needed no configuration. I changed it's IP Address to match that of my home network, but that was only to suit my preferences. The Configuration GUI is fairly easy to use and the Instruction Manual is adequate for getting the Modem up and running quickly. I would def

Cons: None. The modem works as advertised.

Other Thoughts: The Modem includes a Firewall and NAT feature which I don't use since my Netgear Wireless Firewall/Router offers these features.

5 out of 5 eggsUsing for 3 months

Pros: Price, functionality, Newegg's turbo-charged shipping.

Cons: It's not free.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this modem for three months in FLA with AT&T's DSL Lite and am very pleased with it. I chose to buy my own rather than wait 2 years for the AT&T rebate, but I have no doubt that it will pay for itself in the long run. Any limitation on speed is due to the ISP and my connection plan rather than the modem. I had to go with the cheapest plan available.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with Qwest and Convergent

Pros: Virtually 100% stable for 24/7 use over two years using a Qwest DSL line and Convergent Internet Solutions (cisaz.net) for my ISP.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable - in use for 2 years!

Pros: This modem is very reliable. I've been using it 24/7 for just over two years now and had no problems with this modem. It just works!

Features of the modem are good. It can do NAT routing or bridging mode, which is great. I put mine in bridging mode so that I can use my single static IP for my web server rather than using the NAT routing.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I used to use a Motorola Surfboard 5100 before I got this. My cable internet used to go down at least once a month, then mysteriously come back a few hours or days later, never enough downtime to get the cable service men to fix anything.

My DSL service has been much more reliable. One summer, it got really hot outside and my DSL connection started dying. Luckily, the phone repair guy didn't just shrug his shoulders like the cable service guys would. He spent several hours in the hot sun tracking down a section of phone line that had degraded and he replaced the bad wires. I've had virtually 100% stable operation up to and ever since then.

DSL gives me a lot more choices of internet service providers. My cable company's terms of services says you can't run servers, and they now block incoming port 80 connections to enforce this. Many DSL internet service providers do this too, but not all. Thank goodness for the ability to choose! Down with the cable company monopoly, get DSL!

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD MODEM!!!!

Pros: Great Modem!!, my old modem, the Netopia 2241N from AT&T always had loosing sync problems every single night at 9:00p.m, and first i thought it was my phone lines, so i tried a new modem, so i bought this one, no problems yet! no more loosing sync problems. Its faster than my netopia i had. I highly recommend this modem if your having problems with the modem you have now. And i bought the regular 3 day shipping from ups, got here in 2 days! i love newegg, no one beats their prices! and great shipping =]

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsFast setup, easy too

Pros: Most like most easy setup wizards, I ignore them and go the complete/advanced setup. Get DSL parameters from your ISP, plug them in (hunting down where they go in the menus is the hard part), save/reboot and set back and watch the electrons flow.

Cons: Menu structure not laid out in the most logical of manners, but still understandable.

Other Thoughts: If you have an ISP that is a less that forthcoming about the use of third party modems and providing settings you may have some issues, I called mine and asked before I bought this item.

3 out of 5 eggsVery basic

Pros: It's extremely simple for folks who just want something to plug in and have working in 60 seconds

Cons: Extremely basic. And a lack of features and functionality.

4 out of 5 eggsNo problem. Fast setup

Pros: Painless and fast setup with BellSouth/AT&T DSL. Much better than the box supplied by BellSouth that the lightening killed. Download speeds appear better than before, too.

Very fast delivery from Newegg.

Cons: One usable PC port (either Ethernet or USB, both not both). But, that is all that I required and at the Newegg price I am not complaining.

Other Thoughts: You may need to set VPI to 8 and VCI to 35 for BellSouth DSL via the advanced setup menu. With BellSouth your user name is you email address and your password is your email password.
