1 out of 5 eggsShow-stopper!

Pros: Inexpensive ADSL solution, relatively easy to set up, consistent performance... up to moment of failure.

Cons: After a month of normal use, it died. It would not respond to pressing the "RESET" switch on back, and repeated power-cycling(6-7 times) did no good. Nor could device be accessed using "http://192.168.0.1" in either Google Chrome or MS Internet Explorer. When I called my ISP, I was told I had an IP address, but that I wasn't pinging.

Other Thoughts: Purchased 9/24/13; failed 10/29/13. It DID make it past the 30-day return policy limit!

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after 11 months

Pros: It is a very nice DSL modem/router with a great GUI interface and does everything it is supposed to do well. If only it lasted longer.

Cons: lasted about 11 months. unit no longer senses ethernet link from computer or switch. Can't access GUI interface or manually reset the device.

Other Thoughts: It appears to still work and boot up as all the LED's flash and come on as they should but the ethernet port will not work. Suspect poor soldering on the BGA chip inside. Replaced with TP-Link 8616 modem only, will see how that goes.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years later, still good!

Pros: Supports RFC 1483 bridge mode so you don't have to double-NAT your network. Seems very reliable. I forget all about it which is what you want in a DSL modem.

Cons: None noted.

1 out of 5 eggsCustomer service sucks

Pros: It could be returned.

Cons: Doesn't work with ATT at North Carolina. You will NOT get support from ATT, ATT will try to convince you to buy modem from them. You will NOT get help from Actiontec because they will tell you it is ATT's fault or your user name and password is wrong. I am returning this and get back to TWC.

Other Thoughts: Lesson learned. You got what you pay for.

2 out of 5 eggsshort-lived

Pros: worked at first. easy to set up.

Cons: doesn't work correctly any more, lasting about 13 months. unit no longer senses ethernet link from computer or switch and vice-versa.

Other Thoughts: judging by the LEDs, the unit is still working properly--power-on sequence ends, DSL trains up, authentication succeeds. I would guess that the ethernet controller just fried itself. no obvious physical problems like bent pins, multiple patch cables and devices tested, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsGEU003AD3B-01/GD701D

Pros: My DSL speed using old Westell modem 1.7 mbps max in six years and now 2.8mbps on this one (my DSL plan speed is 1.1 to 3.0).
After setting firewall to custom enable XBOX ports + after setting ports forwarding for Steam all works good. It works good for me.

Cons: no power off switch

1 out of 5 eggsFailure out of the box..response from Actiontec

Pros: Like I posted earlier, the modem is very nice!

Cons: After a rather painful exchange with Actiontec (you have to post another support ticket to respond to them each time rather than just replying to their email... dumb!), they said that I had to return the WHOLE thing to Newegg!!!
I said sc##w it! I have many 12v/1amp switching adapters and I will just use one of them.
Why they just couldn't send me another power supply is beyond me!
This shows poor support!
Not very happy at all!

Other Thoughts: The modem has been working great!
I have it in bridge mode anyway, as my Linksys is much easier and more robust and the firewalling is much easier to configure and it is working. The Actiontec method of setting up firewall rules is cryptic and basic.
The power supply issue is beyond belief to me! I would think they could RMA the supply and send me another one, but no.... they don't want to deal with it and want me to hassle returning the complete modem for another one.... DUMB!!!!

3 out of 5 eggsFailure out of the box

Pros: small size.
easy to setup in bridge mode, but no instructions on how to do this.
runs fairly cool.

Cons: power supply was dead out of the box.
submitted a support ticket on Actiontec's website requesting another supply... we'll see if they come through!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: much, much, more responsive than my old isp provided gateway device. i've flashed it, tried to tweak it, but it's just really bad.

Cons: had to lookup online how to put it in bridge mode, wish they put that in there instructions so i didn't have to rewire everything halfway through to get online to look it up! my old somewhat working gateway GT704 was made by actiontec, so when i opened the newegg package and seen the same name my heart sank, but it turned out that this product really works great, buy it.

Other Thoughts: bridge mode for the people that don't know, this modem has only one port, so you can connect your router to it, then once you put it in bridge mode, you make your router log into your dsl provider straight through the modem. thus you get more ports, and wireless off your router
