2 out of 5 eggsWorst DLink N300 Router

Pros: Easy Configuration

Cons: I bought a Dlink N300 Cloud Router just yesterday and configured successfully. To verify the range of it, tried moving my laptop, smart phones, notepad just a 4mtr away and the signal weakend and the devices were trying hard searching the network connection. Called up customer care and they say they cant help in range as it works fine if the devices are near to router. Cleverly answered. To be frank, we had earlier Netgear N150, which was installed in 3rd floor of the building and we were able to access internet in the 2nd floor in every corner of flat. We even were able to access in the cellar of the building over smart phones. After talking to customer care, i feel Netgear is absolute choice for wireless routers.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good product and features. Plenty of bells and whistles for a standard home network. Web interface was easy to navigate and functional.

Cons: Started having problems after a year and a half of ownership.

Other Thoughts: I was very happy with this product for a year and a half but then the DSL connection started to drop as if due to weak signal. A reboot would re-initiate the connection but it would then drop again in a couple of days. Warranty was one year. I've replaced this modem with a new one and the problem has gone away.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat router. Why bad reviews?

Pros: Easy to configure with the included CD or with the online configuration page. The online configuration page is user friendly and the layout is user friendly. I Haven't experienced any disconnection issues, heating up or any other issues. My experience with the router has been a positive one and since people only leave reviews when they are mad, I decided to write my own so you can make a better decision.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I play games online (modern warfare 3, etc.), and the game was showing the NAT as being "strict" even when the PS3 was showing a type 2 which should be open. I resolved this problem by configuring a DMZ. Problem solved. Instructions on how to do this can be found online. Overall I'm very happy with this modem router and I have no problem recommending this to anybody looking for an excellent overall product. Recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money on this.

Pros: Looks good.

Cons: This router is TERRIBLE. A waste of your money. I tried manually setting it up with all of the information from my ISP and I had to use the CD because it just wouldn't work. While connected wirelessly, you stay connected for about 4 hours and then you get disconnected and are not able to rejoin. I believe the issue is the DHCP service firmware installed. You have to restart this router at least once a day. You are better off getting a cheaper router and flashing it with DD-WRT. OR just get a better manufactured router.
