5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: So far a very solid modem. Cox took supervisor level intervention to get it operational because they didn't have the serial number listed. Please don't ask me to explain but once they got their heads out of their posteriors it was completely painless and works great.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with Cox

Pros: This product may work perfectly well but I don't know if it does since it was not compatible with our ISP.

Cons: I bought this since there were references to compatibility with Cox in other reviews and the Q&A sections but when it came time for our installation, the modem would not work. After calling their office our installation person was informed that this modem is not compatible with Cox.

5 out of 5 eggstook 36 minutes

Pros: easy for Time Warner to authorize

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I timed the set up with Time Warner cable and reconfiguring my router. 36 minutes from start to finish. I previously had a different brand with Time Warner. It took more than two hours and level 2 support for them to authorize the MAC address. I was able to get this modem going AND return the TWC modem to them all in one afternoon. So far, it works equally as well as the TWC modem. NO difference. Except for the 96 dollars I save every year. This modem has a payback period of 6 months. 6 * 8 = 48. Everyone should do this.

3 out of 5 eggsNo Problem, at first

Pros: It worked, for a month or so.

Cons: Mine worked fine for about a month and then quit on me. I contacted customer service, and they were very helpful in trying to diagnose the problem. They issued me an RMA number, and now I have to send it back for a replacement on my dime. Maybe I got a lemon. I can't bash D-Link over it, these things can happen.
Nothing against newegg or Dlink, but Comcast is telling their customers a big lie that they must upgrade their modems. This DOCSIS 3 modem made no improvement to my internet speed, as Comcast insisted was necessary. Comcast lies to it's customers blatantly.

Other Thoughts: I've been using a D-Link router for a couple years and have had no problems with that. It worked quite well with the modem, before the modem died.
I had been using a Motorola modem I bought here 4 or 5 years ago. It still worked fine and the new one made very little difference. Comcast kept sending me emails, letters, and texts telling me I HAD to upgrade. Comcast sucks.
While I am waiting for the D-Link DCM-301 replacement I hooked the old Motorola back up for now.

5 out of 5 eggsPays for itself within months

Pros: It works with TWC and saves me about 10 bucks a month in their lease fee. Given what I paid for it in a sale, that means it paid for itself in less than six months.

Cons: Eventually I'll have to replace it.

Other Thoughts: Practically a mandatory purchase for me given that I conduct most of my business online. After the cable bill starts ratcheting up because various "savings" and "promotions" have ended, this helps to bring it back down to something sane.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: Easy setup with Comcast. No issues with downloads/upload speeds. Saves me money from the Comcast rental fee.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this this modem to anyone looking to save a few buck every month. It'll pay for itself.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's FAST

Pros: WOWZER what a HUGE DIFFERENCE in performance from that piece of junk Arris TWC was renting me for $10 per month!
Been using it for just over a month and it's been rocking solid.

Cons: Not really a problem, but it's got very large bright green LEDs for such a small modem which can be very distracting if left in plain sight.

Other Thoughts: Swapping out and installing new modems is easy for those with IT experience but can still be problematic even for those of us that do.
It could be as easy and simple as calling your ISP and providing them with the new MAC address and you are done with it.
Or NOT, and once you start the process of switching modems there's typically no turning back without the aid of a scheduled service call to get your Internet up and running again. :o(
So if you are unsure of wiring or what either an ISP or MAC address is due yourself a favor and seek help before installing your new modem because it gets increasingly more complicated when WiFi gets involved, and more complicated still when an external router is involved, which "may" or "may NOT" recognize your new modem's MAC address and or configuration.

1 out of 5 eggsrevising previous review

Pros: I was blaming my new router (installed at the same time as this modem) for constantly dropping connections. Some devises could still reach the Internet and some could not so I blamed the router. I swapped back to an old modem as a last ditch effort to prove that it was the router....it was not. All issues when away as soon as I pulled this D-link modem out.

This stupid thing made me waste a lot of time on router settings and firmware updates for nothing plus I am out the purchase price because I can no longer return it.

Cons: Drops connections.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with Comcast

Pros: Works as expected. Replaced my old DOCSIS2.0 modem with this one. Took 10 minutes to setup via Comcast website. No phone call necessary.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Speed increase happened immediately after new modem installed.
