The Model 3030 is Zoom's lowest-cost 56K modem. It is designed for use in Windowsbased systems with a minimum of a 266 MHz processor. The Model 3030 is a hostbased modem, which uses the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of the computer in which the modem is installed to perform controller and data pump functions.

The Model 3030 is fully compatibile with all features of the latest V.92/V.44 international standards and will also communicate at V.90 and slower speeds.

Pros: I actually needed a fax modem for one customer. This fit the bill. I have a new Windows 8.1 computer. NOTE: You must replace the FXST30.dll in Windows for it to work properly.

Cons: FXST30.dll in Windows 8.1 must be replaced for it to work. It is not as easy as you think because the Windows driver folder is protected.
