5 out of 5 eggsWorks great very easy setup.

Pros: This is the first Zoom product that I have owned since the dialup days. I love this dsl router it is working great. I have my kids on their own ssid and when I dont want them on I just log on to the router and click a box and it turns them off. Then I can click them back on without having to set anything up again!!! Having 5 boys on different wifi devices they can put a strain on the internet. I seen this one from a company I have trusted for many years being top of the line so I had to try it. I also liked that it had features of much more expensive models. Detected my dsl settings with no problem. Just had to tell it username and password.

Cons: NONE!!!!!

Other Thoughts: You can use this with up to 4 ssid's but when I tried to use 3 it didnt like it. Seemed like it bogged it down. Works great with 2 so not an issue with me! Just thought I would mention it. I would definitely buy another one!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price Great Performance

Pros: Replaced my Zoom ADSL X6 which began to have problems after six years and a month. Removed that one from Win XP and used CD to install this one. Had to learn new screens @ 192.168.1.1 instead of 10.0.0.2 as I recall. Stable and performs well with AT&T. Price was good and delivery was as advertised.

Cons: None so far and not expecting any for six more years hopefully.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to install, configure. It has everything in the modem.

Cons: Not for long term use (over 1 year). I've been using mine for over a year and recently there are more and more disconnect/slowdown. Now it's dead. System light would flash green forever.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for a good price

Pros: initial setup was painless.
easy to change wifi security settings.
no issue connecting with 10+ devices.

Cons: the onboard settings (where you go when you type in the IP) sometimes don't load and I had to refresh the page a number of times to get at them. It was a minor inconvenience.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an actiontec modem for my centurylink dsl. Installation was much easier than expected. I used the disk that came with it, and only had to enter ppp name and password when prompted.

I have four pc's connected to this by ethernet, two laptops by wifi, two roku boxes, a media pc, a smart dvd player, several tablets and cell phones while in range, and it hasn't yet dropped a connection on any of them (that was my biggest issue with the actiontec). Signal strength on the wifi is significantly better than it was with my old modem, and download speeds through the wifi are much faster (upload remains about the same).

Overall I'm very happy with its performance, and will probably buy another one to have around just in case the first one happens to fail.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: When it works, it works well

Cons: When it doesn't work Zoom's customer service is horrible!

Other Thoughts: When my product was defective I made the mistake of NOT returning it to Newegg and getting a different product. I instead tried dealing with ZOOM's miserable customer service.

Not that their people were not always polite and courteous, but there were slow response times (one time an entire week for a response to an email), misinformation, ignored phone messages. And now after finally getting the replacement product I still am going to get hosed for the shipping of their defect back to them!

Their customer service has been doing their best to convince me NOT to buy any more ZOOM products.

5 out of 5 eggsZoom

Pros: Ease of use, reliable, good speeds, good looking. What more do you want?

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've been using Zoom modems since the dial up days & they have never let me down. I replaced a Zoom X6 that works flawlessly but couldn't find a firmware upgrade to get wireless N protocol (so my wife's Kindle Fire would stay connected)....not an issue w/ the X6......issue is w/ the Kindle Fire's vers of Andriod not being made backwards compatible w/ earlier wireless standards (like Apple's I-Pad series are....don't know bout the other tablet makers out there....their engineers may have coded the vers of Andriod that they're using to be backwards compatible w/ b & g). Anyway, Newegg is the E-Ching!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ADSL Modem

Pros: Supports IPv6, Wireless signal is fairly stong. Very easy to set up. If you have used other Zoom ADSL modems, the advanced options are a breeze to configure.

Cons: The array of advanced features can be a little daunting for novice users. Under moderate to heavy load, you cannot log into the router sometimes. This happens a lot under firefox, but sometimes under chome and IE9 as well.

Other Thoughts: Great ADSL modem from a company that has been in the business since the "old" 56k dialup modems.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Easy installation
Step-by-step instructions
Great range and compact design

Cons: Was unsure how to setup a secure network, but there are step-by-step instructions on how to do this included. Anyone can setup this apparatus without any problems, regardless of your experience with technology.
