1 out of 5 eggsWORTHLESS

Pros: All-in-one design results in less wiring mess and uses less desktop space.

Cons: Very inconsistent performance, web pages take a long time to load, sometimes up to 5 minutes! Wireless performance is the worst I have ever used. My service provider is Suddenlink, my packages is 30/2Mbps, most of the time performs worse than my old Netgear with 6Mbps AT&T DSL...

Other Thoughts: I own and operate an internet service provider and have a high understanding of computers, wifi, routing, et cetera...

5 out of 5 eggsMine Works Great

Pros: It is a modem and wireless router in one. The range on it is about the same as the d-link gigabyte router give or take I have not noticed any range difference and it is much faster than the cisco linksys modem it also replaced. I have not had to reset or mess with it once since I turned it on and set it up.

Cons: the only con I have had was with the set up software that it came with didn't want to run with windows 8 but did finally run may have just been my computer I don't see anybody else saying anything like that so who knows

Other Thoughts: I didn't have to call my isp to add it to my service either I plugged it in and clicked on internet explorer and it took me to my isp's new modem set up page and did it online without me having to do anything but click add and agree but that is with cox so it may not be that way for other people

4 out of 5 eggsGood...not great

Pros: Being a DOCSIS 3.0 modem you will get better and faster connections. I have and its wonderful how much faster your internet will actually be.

Cons: Wireless range on this SUCKS. Plain and simple. I can walk 8 feet away from it and my signal drops ridiculously low. No explanation for it other than no external antenna which also makes it look really nice, but like I said, probably is the reason the range sucks so bad.

Other Thoughts: They should have made it where you could add an external antenna if you wanted, but its just not available.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: All-in-One design makes for fewer cables.

Cons: Slow. Crashes under stress. Interface--I could not have designed a worse interface if I tried. No ability to select DNS servers (forced to use ISP's). Can't reset from web interface (are you kidding me?). Some features slow it down even MORE, like "IP Flood Detection." One "feature" isn't labeled, and is the only box checked in a long list of checked boxes. Of course if you check it, it turns it into a 1 computer bridge. Why label that? Also, "NAPT" ? Why would they label it NAPT? It's NAT. More confusing idiocy.

But the slowness. I can't believe the slowness. Sure, speedtest.net will read fine, but I don't want to wait 1-5 seconds for a page to start loading.

I'm now on a Cisco DPC3000 and a $30, 150mbps Netgear Wireless N. So relieved.

Other Thoughts: Anybody involved in the development of this piece of garbage should be shot. The only people happy with this product are the ones whose computers are infested with spyware and they believe that the internet is normally that slow. Disregard any positive reviews for this junk. JUNK!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat modem

Pros: Not difficult to set up at all, not sure what others are talking about. fast downloads (with a 25Mbps connection).

Cons: none anymore. when I first got it, my wireless would drop occasionally, more of an ISP problem though since they control the firmware updates. a new one was released however and its been fine for the past 8 months, very heavy use.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Warranty

Pros: It works well for the 4-6 seconds it will provide wireless output.

Cons: Definitely not worth the price unless you only want to use it for <6months. I just read the warranty, here's a quote from it in BOLD letters, " IN NO EVENT SHALL MOTOROLA BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER OTHER PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT" All I wanted was for it to function, not break down every 2 weeks

Other Thoughts: don't buy it

1 out of 5 eggsConstantly drops signals

Pros: It was easy to config, has relatively high output power, and is a stand alone modem/router.

Cons: I've owned this Motorola modem/router for about 9 months now. After about 5 months of relatively low usage, the secured primary channel intermittently drops out every 4-8 seconds (I used WiFi Analyzer to watch the signal, its a free android and kindle app). After around 7 months, the unsecured guest channel started doing the same thing. It seems to work correctly for about 2 weeks, then I have to reset the unit again. I paid a pretty good chunk of money for this, around $135, so for the price, I'm not real happy with Motorola. If I didn't pay so much for this, I'd take it out in the driveway and smash it with a baseball bat.

Other Thoughts: I will never again buy another Motorola product. I'd rather spend $30 on a junk unit and replace it when it crashes as new tech comes out by the time these expensive electronics break anyway.

2 out of 5 eggsIt almost works

Pros: It worked well for a little while and was simple enough to configure.

Cons: Crashed multiple times when reconfiguring. Simple things like changing the wireless access code was enough to get it started, and enabling MAC filtering pushed it over the edge. After about a year of moderate use it is crashing on a regular basis.

Other Thoughts: Motorola will not be getting my money again.

3 out of 5 eggscaution: not really "dual band"

Pros: works well generally - easy setup - less complicated for average user then two devices (modem+router).

Cons: Not really "dual band" - can operate on 2.4 OR 5 Ghz - no auto connect setting to have devices connected dictate band with.
