Pros: Boots up fast for a modem

Other Thoughts: It didn't last long, it's constantly re-booting and takes forever to re-boot. I use on my own Cooler Master case build and have it on top of my top 200mm cooling fan, so it stays very cool. Maybe it needs to be hot? Who knows..

I guess I'll try another brand.

Pros: I ordered this modem early on a Monday morning and it was delivered the next day, Tuesday afternoon. I was extremely pleased with the speedy process and the excellent quality of the item. With free shipping and paying $119.99 for the modem made this my choice for replacing an older modem.

Other Thoughts: A friend recommended this cable modem to me and I would also recommend it to others wanting a good modem. I didn't see the word "Arris" on this item when I received it, but Motorola is good enough for me and it works great. (Chase)

Pros: Has both 2.4 and 5.8 ghz wireless transceivers. As it states it has 8 downstream, and 4 upstream channels built in. I have 4 computers and sometimes 1 to 4 other devices connected at the same time, and I have never noticed a drop in performance when I game online. It was easy to setup and configure.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this Gateway router.

Other Thoughts: Bought mine used elsewhere and it works great. It does get pretty hot and I tend to keep things like these in the open anyway. I haven't used the wifi at all since I prefer a wired connection so I can't comment on how good that works. If you have problems keep calling your ISP because it's likely a problem on their end. I had some connectivity issues early on but worked it out by calling them and having them check on it on their end.

Pros: Easy to set up; easy to use. Strong signal strength; fast.

Cons: Didn't work very well with my wireless Netgear WNDA3100v3 in a desktop unit. Fine for a few hours, then would go into slow funk mode, requiring a restart of the SBG6580 to restore reasonable internet speeds. Switched to a TP-Link TL-WN722N unit from Newegg and the SBG6580 is now faster than greased lightning.

Other Thoughts: There are other good Arris models but this one can be a fine value vs. renting from your cable provider. Be sure to investigate problems thoroughly; I never imagined the Netgear unit would cause so much trouble, but it sure did.

Pros: Worked well for the few years I had it. Moved to another cable provider so had to stop using it.

Cons: Connecting wifi devices (like a printer) was a bit of a pain

Hooked up to comcast without issue.

Cons: Modem gets very hot. Even in a cool place and not enclosed.
Power adapter gets hot.

Wireless drops connection often.
Modem is NOT dual band. It's 2.4 OR 5ghz. Not both at once.
It must be manually switched in the config.

Wireless range is terrible in both bands. Literally half the distance of my old modems.

Wired ports CLAIM they support 10/100/1000. But i can't get it to work in 1000 with other products i KNOW work in 1000 because they worked fine with my old modems.

The wireless button pairing (wps) button needs to be really smashed hard to make it work.

The config is terrible. It's almost a complete copy of the functions (and bugs) in my 10 year old linksys cable modem/router.

Firewall functions cause massive lag and must be disabled.

I'm sure there's some complaints i'm forgetting. And some i will find in the comming weeks until my other mfg modem is replaced.

Bottom line is... If you have no other choice. This will work. But that's the best thing i can say about it.

Fluke failure. They'll likely replace it no problem i hope. But in the meantime i needed a modem.
This motorola was the only one i could find on short notice that was an all in one modem/router/wireless.

Pros: Having a cable modem with built in wireless and not having to buy both, saves me about $12/month compared to renting one from my cable provider, Time Warner. Works great! Was very easy to set up too.

Cons: None so far

Pros: As a modem, it works. Was easy to set up. It's small size is a plus.

Cons: The WiFi on this is the absolute worst I have ever used. It constantly drops wireless to my cell phone, smart TV, PlayStation 4, laptop and tablet. The signal drop from 10-20 feet on this thing is staggeringly bad. My PlayStation is max, 15 feet away and gets dropped all the time. I paid a lot more for this at a 'competitor' and certainly did not Buy Best.
Note to self: always buy from Newegg. Now I'm stuck with this awful product and have to buy another router to make up for it's torturous shortcomings. Be wiser than I and go Newegg (and skip this trash product!)

Other Thoughts: I have done all the configure work in the software you can imagine. I have done the firmware/driver merry-go-round. Trust me, I did all the homework to confirm this thing is a grade-A disaster.
