1 out of 5 eggsjunk

Pros: It worked

Cons: After 1 year and 3 month it doesn't.

Other Thoughts: Avoid, period.

5 out of 5 eggsNot top-of-the-line but close

Pros: DOCSIS 3.0 (simultaneous TX and RX).
Same upload-speed potential of SB6141 (4-channels).
Firmware auto-updated once activated (Comcast, H/W v5.0).

Cons: Only half the download-speed potential of the SB6141 (4-channel vs. 8-channel).

Other Thoughts: Contrary to other reviews, it DOES work with the WRT54GL (modem's 1Gb Ethernet works with router's 100Mb).
Runs fairly cool (4~8dBmV down, 38~40dBmV up)
LED brightness perfect (not too dim, not too bright).
Newegg rocks!

1 out of 5 eggsif you are a Time Warner customer - DO NOT BUY THIS MODEM

Pros: works great with another internet provider.

Cons: if you are a time warner customer, this modem will reboot several times a day. the firmware time warner is using does not function properly with this modem. you will have upstream response issues nonstop. want to download a file or watch a video on the net? good luck. want to use voip? good luck..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cable modem

Pros: Finally got rid of my cable provider's modem. Not only does this one look waaaaay better but it's already paid itself back after 6 months. I also haven't had any service drops. Haven't noticed really any change in speed, etc. but I didn't really expect to.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Good looking, inexpensive, fully functional cable modem.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems for 1yr and 9mo

Pros: It saved me money on renting modem from Comcast. If I go back to Comcast, and if they do not change required specs, then I will continue saving money.

Cons: The installer that Comcast sent to set the service in new location was so uninterested in doing his job that the service did not get set up, and I ended up going with a different ISP. So, after 1yr and 9mo I have no need for this modem.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent modem

Pros: Sleek design, and solved my fluctuating internet speeds.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was having very drastic fluctuations in internet speed for a while, and after at least 10 visits from my cable company and them being unable to find and solve the problem I decided to upgrade to a docsis 3 modem. Instantly the problems I was having were gone. My old docsis 2 modem got the sledgehammer, and this one is now enslaved. Great modem, and looks cool.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to!

Pros: It looks nice, is compact, and works!

Cons: Ethernet light blinks constantly for no apparent reason (very minor).

Other Thoughts: Quite simply, the modem works as expected. It was easy enough to set-up with Comcast; just had to call and give them the MAC address. It has been working perfectly for several weeks now with great speed and reliability. Can't complain. The only thing I can figure out is why the ethernet light always blinks steadily, regardless of data transfer. It's just a minor oddity that by no means affects functionality. I suppose there is a reason this seems to pretty much be the standard choice!
