1 out of 5 eggsForget parental controls

Pros: product works so far

Cons: If one of your reasons for considering this router is the parental controls. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. phone support is nonexistent. After a long wait for tech support I was transfered to a tech. the message stated " Bobby is unavailable. Leave a message. Chat support can take over an hour to connect to a tech with very limited knowledge of the product and in the end had no solution to the problem

Other Thoughts: If you don't care about customer support this appears to be a functional router. It works better and more reliably than my old Westell 7500

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Setup

Pros: You can take it from a "Geek" or take it from a guy who does not know much about setting up modems or home wi-fi. Lets put it this way....I simply followed the instructions and it worked the first time. Took me 10 minutes to connect up this unit and I immediatly noticed a big improvement in not only the speed of my wired DSL but in the range and speed to my wi-fi gadgets. I have Centurylink DSL and am now sending back my modem which will save me about 5 bucks a months. All you need to know is your ISP user name/password and the software does the rest. I was expecting a lot of aggrivation and multiple calls to Centurytel but I could not have been more wrong. This unit replaced a Linksys router and the Westell modem supplied by Centurytel. I have no way to quantify the speed improvement but can just say it is much better.

Cons: None yet. I was so pleased with the ease of set up and performace improvement I just had to write a review.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: Seems to be faster than my old router, is working cooler temps than old one, plus am ready for a better service line.

Cons: none, just a little high on the price.

5 out of 5 eggsBest DSL Modem Router

Pros: Super Easy Setup and much improved DSL experience made this a no-brainer to share the good news--finally a DS modem/router that does as it promises. I have Verizon and I have been trough 4 modems and each in turn dropped out frequently and the connection was always poor. I had a dgnd3300 and it was ok but this blows it and all theothers I have tried away.

Cons: price--but you get what you pay for and this is worth it...bad reviews from non-owners on multiple sites>if you dont own it dont review it.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabit Capable DSL Modem/Router

Pros: Works great with AT&T DSL and setup took just minutes. Gigabit internal switch to support my Gigabit home network (main purchase reason). FW GUI is easy to follow. No dropped wireless connections. DHCP setup for all devices was a breeze.

Cons: None experienced so far considering 2 weeks of use. Still tweaking and experimenting with its capabilities.

Other Thoughts: There's not many Gigabit DSL modem/routers out there. Researching, there's few online reviews of this DGND4000 to help you make your decision. But I've had Netgear in the past with minimal issues. The few I found are positive, so I decided to try this one out. Came with FW ver V1.1.00.10_1.00.10NA and thus far no updates. Very happy with this DGND4000 so far.

4 out of 5 eggssomeone who actually purchased one

Pros: Easy(really easy like 2min) setup, strong signal in my apt, good connection have had absolutely no signal cutout as of yet. Unit looks visually striking for a router. No interference with any of my other wireless equipment.

Cons: the included admin interface is a little basic and could use some work, but as of now no real problems have come up.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why but every where I looked the only review for this item was from someone assuming based on the previous model, well as stated I actually bought one and think its great

1 out of 5 eggsDon't be Fooled

Pros: High speed if it works.

Cons: Based on the current DGND3700's not working as advertised I'd be surprised if this unit works any better. Many bugs an shortcomings in the current devices firmware that show no sign of ever being fixed. I'd love to update this in the future saying that Netgear has corrected the DGND3700's firmware, but based on current Netgear actions I do not see that happening. To me it comes down to "how can you buy this device from Netgear and expect different results than you've got on the predicessor"? Especially at this price point.

Other Thoughts: In days gone by Netgear built respectable products with pretty good support. With the current batch of home user products it appears those days are but a distant memory.
