5 out of 5 eggsGood coverage

Pros: Wireless works, Lots of features, Easy Setup. Improved speeds over my old Linksys N router. Im never buying Linksys again. Thanks TP-Link.

Cons: I ordered it and then forgot that my dsl is not adsl. Tried to stop my order and get a C8 archer, but it was too late. Here at Newegg they don't let you change your order. Bad Newegg customer Service. Bad Newegg.

Other Thoughts: The router gets 5 stars. Newegg's customer service gets rotten eggs

1 out of 5 eggsAwful

Pros: None

Cons: I'm not sure what's wrong with this router, but I got frequent lag spikes with it and eventually had to replace it. Using a wired connection between my router and computer worked fine, but using it wirelessly was extremely frustrating. I don't recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat DLS router

Pros: Gigabit ethernet port. Transfer saturates ports at 110MB/sec for backup of images and 70MB/sec for files backup to buildup
NAS array.
FTP server, storage server and print server work well.

Cons: USB 2.0 ports eliminates the useful application of storage server app for NAS backup.

Place router on nice feet for cooling!
Still gets hot when pushing 110MB over two ports for about 10 minutes

Other Thoughts: This would be the perfect DSL modem/router with the upgrade to USB 3.0 ports!!!
Just almost perfect now!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing replacement for At&t junk!!

Pros: Bought this to replace my old At&t supplied 2wire modem/router combo. With the old one we kept getting 2wire/att router drop pages constantly and our online video quality and buffering was really bad. Our LAN speed sucked. Buying this and setting it up FIXED all of these problems. All I had to do was screen cap a few settings from the other router and set them the same on the new one. I never had to call my isp to get info.
Videos load and buffer faster. We also have much better LAN speeds for gaming. (acts like its on the same computer)
The wireless signal on this router is superb!
Network Print server was easy to set up. Just plug in the USB cord to the router and download Tp link's printer sharing software and connect through the software.
The splitter and wires that came with the unit were constructed much better than the previous 2wire equipment. The router is larger and feels strong and durable. Has mounts on the back for hanging on a wall. Looks like a router Batman would use.
Has Epic admin interface and options.

Cons: Wall hanger slots are kinda small when it comes to where the head of the nail/screw would go in. Not a big deal just something I noticed.
Network Printing Software is Windows only doesn't work with Linux. Haven't found a workaround for Linux. Other than that it all works with Linux.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this router 100%. This thing increased my internet quality massively. If i could I'd shake the hand of whoever designed this thing.
This is much cheaper than getting a junk bundle for $120 from my isp, not to mention Wayyy better quality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far..

Pros: -Easy setup
-Sleek Design
-Good range
-Runs at a reasonable temperate

Cons: -Dull interface

Other Thoughts: So far, this modem/router combo has been a breeze to use. Setup is easy, range is great, and it doesn't run too hot. TP-Link usually has great networking products, so I would recommend this product to just about anyone.

Cons: Modem feature was not needed by me; however, could be useful for others.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Router but does come with few issues

Pros: Easy Setup
USB capability to make Print Server and Media Server capability
Your own personal cloud where you can plug your hard drive and access the hard drive from anywhere in the world.

Cons: Requires restart in every couple of days to maintain the speed and connectivity. USB printer stops working and that's an indication that a restart is required.

5 out of 5 eggsPower House of a Router

Pros: Since I switched from my 8MBs DSL to a 50MBs cable modem 1 month ago, I only use the router feature of the TD-W8970. The user interface is very easy to use and can be very powerful for advanced users. I have a TV, PS3 and a Gaming PC hard wired into the LAN and a laptop, 2 iPads, 2 iPones, and a IP camera running on the wifi. I've tested the system by streaming different HD movies to the TV, laptop, both iPads, both iPhones while playing an online game and streaming pandora on the PC. Their was no noticeable lag or streaming hang ups on any of the devices.

Cons: None so far, I'll repost if anything comes up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Modem/Router combo

Pros: A lot of options, more than you will likely need.
Stable, only have to reset it once every 2 weeks.
Changing an option doesn't take 1-2 minutes to take effect, nearly instant.
Strong WIFI signal.

Cons: Sometimes lose wifi signal randomly every now and then for 1-2 minutes. (Very rarely and mainly only around 11 PM.)

Other Thoughts: Bought this router to replace a D-Link router. The configuration page on this is a lot better than what was on the D-Link one. This router also seems to have a stronger WIFI signal.
