5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny!

Pros: Worked so great, I bought one and recommended one to a friend! Love the form factor. Looks good anywhere you put it.

Cons: If i had to pick one thing, I would say the LEDs are a bit to bright.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat modem

Pros: Although this modem is a little on the older side now, it is worlds better than that piece of junk all in one router/modem that I was renting from Time Warner Cable. Never again. Setup was easy. just had to make a quick call to TWC so they could activate this and I was flying after that.

Cons: None really. The only con I can think of is the lights are too bright and that is a personal preference. But that can be easily remedied by placing it where you wont see it such as in a cabinet or under your bed. This does not need to be out in the open, whereas your wireless router should.

Other Thoughts: As of January 2016. renting an all in one router/modem from TWC is $10/month. Wish I had switched over to this years ago...

2 out of 5 eggsLasted about 14 months

Pros: It is fast and works well for the simple device that it is.

Cons: It is now not functioning as well and is running at 1/5th the normal speed. TWC came out and replaced everything and we then tried a test modem which worked just fine. Arris is now having me reprovision the modem from TWC to see if that will fix it. Otherwise it looks to be a fight with them regarding a warranty return.

5 out of 5 eggsGood modem to own, better than the rental models

Pros: - 8 downstream and 4 upstream channel bonding

- Reliable always-on connectivity (i.e. doesn't require power cycling frequently)

- Supports Comcast Blast speeds (105 Mbps down, 12 Mbps up)

- Gigabit Ethernet

Cons: - All the status lights are very bright, and light from them 'leaks' out of the case of the modem. There really is no way to contain the bright light while still allowing the modem to ventilate and cool.

Other Thoughts: I've owned and operated the modem for 6 months now. It's going strong and not exhibiting any connectivity issues or slowness. This modem has solved many of my problems my old modem had with the decrepit Comcast cable network in my neighborhood.

The very bright status lights, while annoying, are not enough to justify taking an egg off the rating.

I've had some connections problems with Comcast in Denver, and installing and activating this SB6141 modem has helped, but the modem can only function as well as the cable network and cable-company provided firmware allows. This purchase replaced a two-year-old SB6121.

5 out of 5 eggsIt is what it is

Pros: It does what it is supposed to. Get max speeds of my advertised speeds and stays running. A lot smaller than I expected.

Cons: Its WHITE! I hate that its white but oh well. I also wish the blue leds on it were not as bright they are a bit annoying

Other Thoughts: Does what it needs to with some aesthetic quirks

5 out of 5 eggsCheap, but effective.

Pros: - This device (as far as I know) handles the peak data rates that Mediacom is providing me (118mbps down 25mbps up).
- Really no setup to speak of, it's a very simple device
- Ridiculously bright lights add flare to any party room.

Cons: I started having a lot of disconnection errors when using wireless. My router would completely reset when doing upload tests or when using certain programs (2nd instance of Everquest, Skype video/desktop streams, and a few other random things). I pair this modem with my AC1750 TL-link Archer c7 router, which is a pretty good one, able to handle the full speed of this modem and then some. At first i swore it was the router since the router was the thing resetting every time this happened, but I noticed that when I checked Skype support forums for this problem my modem came up on ~30 topics where my router came up on one, which also just happened to have my modem on it. My interpretation of it which is probably grossly wrong as I'm not a networking expert, is that the packet loss from a high speed wireless 2.4ghz signal was high enough that the modem was having to do a lot of reupload packets to the internet and either my router, network card, or modem got overwhelmed. Plugging in with a cable to the router fixed all of the issues so far. I just really am not looking forward to drilling through my floor/wall to route this cable cord to where it needs to be. I ordered a fast wireless router specifically to avoid this problem.

So, I'm not going to take away an egg for this because it could have been any of the 3 devices, but just look out for this. If you come here looking for others who have this issue, I have certainly had a long battle with it over the course of the first 3 weeks of my internet being set up. I think I walked across my house over 150 times to reset the router before I opted for the wired fix.

Other Thoughts: It's a cheap, nifty little device that will save you more money than you spend on it in less than a year.

If you're using this with less than a 120mbps connection it will handle it, don't worry.

Order this on Newegg, a return might be warranted if you've had the same issues as me and don't have the option of routing cable through your home. Not with this product, but with others, Newegg has always made returns relatively pain free.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage...keeps on resetting!!!

Pros: NONE!!!

Cons: Do not bother buying this router. Pure garbage. Their tech support keeps telling me that it is my Xfinity service which causing the issue but all issues went away as soon as I replaced it with TP-Link TC7610.

5 out of 5 eggsThis modem does the job!

Pros: I only have 25Mbps/5Mbps from Comcast, so I am not pushing this thing to any limit, but it works great. I have successfully avoided the Comcast device fee for 2+ years now. I see the price has dropped too.

I found there is a remote interface, but I think it gets updated to be "simpler" after Comcast, but it is handy to "debug"outages and slow spells as it lists connection information.

Cons: Probably just the Comcast part. haha.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to test the IPv6 connection. Comcast does provide one, but it took a while to get IPv6 past the modem. I found that I needed to setup my network first and then power everything including the modem off for a while. After power-up, the modem accepting IPv6 addresses.
