5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's a Logitech product. =D
Looks cool. Sits comfortably on top of my LCD monitor with its flexible support stand (which I didn't know was flexible until I tried to move it). Nice clear image. Lots of extra features. Privacy features are nice to have. Easy and simple installation. Nice price. Got a huge kick out of the "Follow Me" feature.

Cons: Umm... nothing I can think of other than "Low Light Boost" dropping the framerate down to what looked like 15fps, but the picture looks fine even without LLB on.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried the sound part, but as far as the camera goes, I'm loving it. My last webcam was actually some free gift we got for signing up with an ISP, and the quality was horrible. All I have left to say about this is that, if this is supposed to be for people on a budget, I'm stoked to find out what the high-end is like.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst Web Cam

Pros: I'm a dark skinned black male and web cam's don't usually cater to my complexion but this one is excellent.

Cons: Frame Rate is on the slower side. Well slower than I'd Like.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with the amount of money I spent for it.

5 out of 5 eggslinux

Pros: Works with Skype in Linux. Picture quality is nice. Microphone works.

Cons: Somewhat large. Not the cheapest. Requires drivers that aren't in the kernel.

Took some fiddling in xorg.conf to get it to send clear video in Skype, but the incoming image is still scrambled (though I don't know how much that has to do with this cam)

Other Thoughts: Doesn't look like the first two pictures. But how it does look matches my Cherry keyboard quite nicely (black in the middle, silver on the outside).

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It does what it is supposed to under Skype both WinXp and Ubuntu 8.04; no driver install needed for Ubuntu. I am very pleased with the product. This is great especially when I didn't pay shipping for it. Highly recommended for those looking for a "mid range" quality web cam.

Cons: Mabye the microphone could be a bit more robust.

4 out of 5 eggsGood For What it does

Pros: Good picture quality for skype. Video recording software isn't shabby. Works well in linux & vista.

Microphone was also better than the cheap one I had lying around.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGood webcam

Pros: A good webcam, decent picture quality, works with Vista x64, perches balanced on my LCD monitor and doesn't fall off. The internal USB mic works well with Yahoo! Messenger PC-PC calls.

Cons: Fixed focus.

Other Thoughts: It'd be nice if the quickcam software menu didn't pop up every time I start the webcam in Yahoo! Messenger.

5 out of 5 eggsrocks in Linux

Pros: Works fantastic in Skype on Linux. I used the gspca V4L driver but it looks like there is a V4L2 driver also. This means you could get it to work with the maximum number of applications.

Cons: Linux driver does have one bothersome annoyance. The V4L Linux driver can only do 640x480 and 320x240. All other resolutions are just cropped. The means that if a program like Skype or stickam bump your resolution down due to low bandwidth, it crops the picture and zooms in on your nose. The normal wide angle is perfect but its hard to chat with it zoomed in on your nose!

Other Thoughts: While it worked great on my Intel dual core with 15fps @ 320x240, it sucked at 5 fps on my 2.2ghz AMD Athlon. I think this was due to Skype's optimization for Intel and not the cam.

5 out of 5 eggsLinux Webcam

Pros: it works in linux, decent picture quality, good microphone but the fact it works in linux really was a major plus, also good lighting adjustment

Cons: in low light the quality isn't as good, but i've found that's true with alot of the webcams i've used, it also strangely made my tongue appear to be blue, my tongue is actually red for furute reference, i'm not some weird alien <__<

Other Thoughts: none
