Excellent Mouse
- Pros: Overall initial impression ties this mouse with my old MX1000. Excellent mouse.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: "Dragging a brick around"? Are we talking about the same mouse? This thing glides effortlessly across my desk, and my desk is not the cleanest in the world. Non-rechargeable batteries? Buy some AA rechargeables and use those. A battery you can't replace always kills you in the end. My MX1000 didn't last two days without recharge after four years of use. I tried the MX Revolution, and liked it overall, except for its base station and non-replaceable battery. It lasted me three days before it needed a recharge... brand new! I returned it and got this mouse. Much better. Besides, it shows right here on the site that it uses AA batteries. Don't complain about the product when you should have done more research to begin with. And if you are having problems with the mouse, always check it out to see if your particular unit is defective before you start telling everyone that the model is junk.
Super fast and very customizable
- Pros: Set the scroll wheel to free-spinning mode and fly through hundreds of pages a second. Driver allows for very thorough customization of the buttons and behaviour for multiple programs. (I consider it an 8-button mouse since the horizontal scroll can be customized.) Average life should be 9-12 months on two AA batteries, unless power button is used to further conserve battery life. Decent weight for good handling.
- Cons: Scroll wheel on stepped mode is very rickety. Not all features are available for every button, although every one can be given a keyboard command. (The guy with Firefox trouble could fix his problem this way using Alt+Arrow commands.) Insists on retaining commands for "core" programs you may not be using (IE, PowerPoint) even when deleted. A few programs do not like free-wheel mode (Wordpad).
- Other Thoughts: Very useful for Battlefield 2142 and other games. Extra buttons allow for five functions to be moved from the keyboard (such as three weapons and the two BF comm roses) for a major edge. You can also control Winamp without being anywhere near the computer.

Fantastic mouse
- Pros: Comfortable, accurate, free spinning wheel is great for long documents and web pages. Click sounds are relatively quiet. Super tiny USB Receiver plugs right into the back of my keyboard. Battery life is WAY better than some cheap mice I've used. It's on sale at the moment, so I'm buying another one for my music studio computer.
- Cons: All mice have this problem, I guess.
The feet are sliding around. Easy fix...peal 'em off, clean 'em up...tiny drop of krazy glue, let dry, all better.
- Other Thoughts: I use this mouse in World of Warcraft. I set the extra buttons to Map, and auto-run, wheel-left is now a track advance that works on iTunes while in the game. So the Logitech Setpoint software is very flexible. It's on sale at the moment, so I'm buying another one for my music studio computer.
Very Sturdy
- Pros: Extremely comfortable and works on nearly every surface. Fits my hand very well. Extremely sturdy, I must have dropped it on asphalt over a dozen times and still works fine. Moves effortlessly, with the slide pads, that is.
- Cons: Battery life isn't as long as my previous mice, which is inconvient to get used to. At this point all the slidepads are missing, but that is more my fault than the mouse's.
- Other Thoughts: One of the many times I had dropped it, the Y-axis had become very insensitive. I was able to fix it, but I had wished the screws weren't covered by the slidepads. After removal of those, the slidepads were doomed. They never stayed on after that.
Good mouse, easily setup on a Mac
- Pros: I bought this with the intention of using it exclusively on a Mac. I've had other Logitech mice for Windows machines, but on my primary home iMac, I needed a solid wireless mouse. It performs great, the battery lasts a very long time (~275 days), and the frictionless wheel is a nice option.
- Cons: The wheel does tend to skip sometimes even when using it in the click mode. Also, and I don't know if it's Logitech, or the software, but you can't scroll at all in iPhoto with this mouse. It skips multiple pages even with the slightest touch in one direction or another.
- Other Thoughts: It works in Snow Leopard now - Logitech released the drivers a month after OS X 10.6 came out, but they work great (even exposé).
