4 out of 5 eggsSweet mouse

Pros: Its a very nice mouse. easy to hold, comfortable. many buttons. cool stealth thumb button. long battery life. i love the scroll wheel. the button right under the wheel unlocks the wheel so it can freely spin. one flick of your finger will send the page flying. i use it all the time on the web.

Cons: wireless signal stops being reliable farther than 4 feet. it has a good range, i can use it from my bed which is a good 10-15 feet away, but the signal will randomly drop for a second and then come back.
DPI swich seems useless. i just set it at what i like and leave it.

4 out of 5 eggsComfortable mouse

Pros: Much more comfortable than my old mouse (Rosewill RKM 800RF).
I like all the extra buttons on it. I have them set to raise/lower volume, close tabs, back/forward, and next/previous tab. I barely need to take my hand off the mouse.
Battery life is good for this type of mouse. Probably last at lease a month of heavy use.
I have small hands, but it is still comfortable.

Cons: Some of the buttons are not optimally placed for me because of my small hands specifically the furthest thumb and furthest index finger buttons. The buttons are still very usable though.

Signal is pretty weak. The Rosewill mouse had a little bit of a stronger signal, while the battery also lasted longer on the Rosewill.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a Rosewill RKM 800RF mouse.

Love Newegg, but bought it at a B&M shop.

5 out of 5 eggsTry relocating the receiver to another USB port

Pros: Feels solid & well made.
Good tracking.
Long battery life.

Replaceable batteries - Doesn't require a desktop charge.

Throw-away batteries are a plus for me! The purpose of a wireless mouse is to ELIMINATE wires on your desktop. The wire required for a desktop charger negates any advantage of going wireless. I don't see the advantage of a charger.

Cons: Kinda' on the heavy side. Took a few sessions to get used to it after using a lighter wired mouse. Now, It's fine.

DPI switch. I don't get it.

Other Thoughts: LAG & STUTTER CURE (for me):

I'm using this on a desktop PC. Initially, I was very disappointed. I loved the mouse, but was experiencing some serious lag & some stuttering. Moving the receiver from a rear USB port to a front USB port cured all the lagging and stuttering. It works great now. If you're having a problem, try moving the receiver to another port.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Comfortable in my hand, as advertised.

Cons: Tracking is not as precise as I'd like for minor graphic design work. I felt the need to go back to using my old corded mouse. Also, as comfortable as it is in my hand, it's not comfortable to lift the mouse as it's not very light. Minor complaint, but it got annoying after a while.

Other Thoughts: If I didn't need the mouse for work, I'd love it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Mouse

Pros: Precise so far for me and easy to use. The scroll wheel is the best I have used. Good ergonomics. Not too many buttons which is nice. On/Off switch.

Cons: The receiver for this is not the unifying type. I expect this is slightly older hardware so it was not normal when this mouse came out. no big deal.

Other Thoughts: I got this at BestB for 38 bucks with tax so I feel great about the price. I looked really hard at the performance MX, but the rechargeable battery and lack of battery life kept me away. I also briefly bought the m705 which was a good mouse, but kind of small for working on the computer half the day.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT

Pros: WOW! Everything about this mouse is awesome. It fits my hand amazingly well and is probably the most comfortable mouse I have ever used (I have had 3 logitech mice in the past and have, on occasion, spent much more than ~$60 on a mouse). After reading numerous review about this mouse it seems as though people have found it to be somewhat large and heavy. Neither has been a problem for me and I think the width of the mouse makes it easier to grip.

Cons: AA's required, no recharging here.

Other Thoughts: Personally, I like corded mice; no batteries to change or tracking problems. However, this mouse is so amazingly comfortable I don't mind feeding it AA's and I have never had a tracking problem with it. I love this mouse and look forward to many years of typical logitech quality

4 out of 5 eggsGreat in most ways

Pros: Good shape -- VERY comfortable. Love the button to change smooth scroll to regular scroll and vice-versa. Thumb-button is a revelation. Batteries last a long time. Durable and well-made. Looks really good too.

Cons: Tracking could be better -- MSFT Bluetrack and the Logitech Darkfield are both WAY better than the laser tracking on this mouse. Also, I think the laser is poorly placed on the mouse -- IMO, it should be closer to the thumb-area of the mouse. Instead, it's at the front of the mouse, which makes precise movement a bit more of a chore. Could use one more teflon pad on the bottom-right of the mouse -- it's possible to accidentally tip the mouse slightly, but that doesn't happen often.

Other Thoughts: My biggest complaint with this mouse is the sensor-placement. Other than that, I really love this mouse. The buttons are fantastic -- very well-thought-out. It's a bit larger than most other mice I've used, and it took some getting used-to, but once I got a feel for the mouse, it's been very comfortable to use. Among high-end mice on the market, this is the best I've used. I prefer the tracking of Bluetrack, but Logitech has the shape, and button-placement almost perfect with this model. I highly recommend the MX 1100.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mouse I've Ever Used...

Pros: Excellent mouse! Uses AA batteries, perfect shape, "hyper scroll wheel," original batteries lasted me almost a year, relatively small, but strong receiver.

Cons: If you're a lefty who uses their left hand to control the mouse (probably a small number there), forget about it...this will not work at all for you. It's designed exclusively with right-handed people in mind.

Other Thoughts: If it ever dies, I'll replace it with the same thing without thinking twice. For someone who spends a lot of time at the computer, it's perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: This mouse has worked perfectly with home (Ubuntu/Linux desktop) and work (XP laptop) systems for me Extremely comfortable to use, even for long periods. Long battery life. Very capable - sufficient buttons to do whatever is needed. Basically, this mouse has spoiled me - no mouse I have ever used has even come close to this one in either comfort or capabilities.

Cons: None, really. Yes, the batteries do need to be changed eventually. I've owned my 1100 for almost a year now, and just yesterday put in the second set of replacement batteries in it, even though it gets heavy use and I never turn it off...

Other Thoughts: I'm not a gamer, so I have no idea if this mouse would be any good for that. I do some hobby CAD work with TurboCAD, and have no issues with this mouse for that style of work.

Last thought: I'm ordering another MX1100; both paid for out of my own pocket. Normally I'm cheap, but I will buy more expensive products when the benefit is there. After carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists, I find that good mice are worth the price, and this is a d*** good mouse for me.

2 out of 5 eggsLogitech let me down (for once)

Pros: Comfortable, lots of programmable buttons

Cons: Laser placement, not rechargeable, horribly jumpy.

Other Thoughts: I ended up replacing this with the Logitech Performance Mouse MX after about a day of trying it. I have owned the MX 1000 for a few years and love it. I thought for sure this would be an upgrade, but not even close. I'm a Web programmer, so I end up using Photoshop quite a bit. I didn't even bother getting into Photoshop with this thing. Trying to select text on a page to highlight it was bad enough -- I'm sure trying to select a particular pixel in an image would have proved incredibly frustrating.

Another reviewer mentioned that the laser placement made it difficult to use, and I COMPLETELY agree. It makes you have to move the mouse in what to me was a very unnatural way.

Instead of getting this mouse, go with the Performance Mouse MX. It is amazingly better.

4 out of 5 eggsHas its issues, but wonderful mouse!

Pros: nice feel, adjustable weight (batteries in parallel so you can remove one), replaceable batteries, plug n play without installing setpoint software

Cons: no connection reset button in case of interference, lag issues if receiver not placed well, laser unit near front rather than center so can affect precision until you get used to it

Other Thoughts: Finally bought this to replace my beloved MX1000. At first i was turned off by the lack of a built-in rechargeable battery, but as anyone who has used a mouse where you cannot replace the battery learns sooner or later, you are just hosed if the battery dies because you forgot to charge it. With this, you just pop in a new one every few months and you are good to go!
I was having serious lag issues, especially if a laptop with active wireless connect was near. Logitech recommends putting the receiver in a front port, but that is not a good option for me since my case has a door that covers the entire front. But I plugged the receiver into an extension cable and ran it inside the case, and that seems to have resolved the issue.
I did NOT install the setpoint software. I have had issues with it in the past so i did not even try it. I may later if I decide I need to change some settings not accessible thru windows.

4 out of 5 eggsGood mouse with a few issues

Pros: Comfortable to use. Hyper wheel scrolling works very well. PTFE feet. So far I haven't experienced the lag issues that other people have encountered.

Cons: The laser placement is at the front of the mouse, making fine mouse movements really awkward and jumpy. Maybe I'm biased because my last mouse had the sensor in the middle, but I think that all mice should have the sensor in the middle of the mouse. Having it at the top is certainly going to take some getting used to.

The latest Setpoint software for this mouse on Logitech's website is version 6, however version 6 did not recognize the mx1100 on my PC running Windows 7 64-bit. I installed 4.6 that was on the CD that came with the mouse and that worked, but it took the Setpoint software 3 tries before it finally succeeded in upgrading to version 4.8. The Setpoint software is very limiting in assigning functions to buttons. Uberoptions fixed this but it also broke the DPI feature.

Other Thoughts: I have larger hands for a girl and so I thought that this mouse would be more comfortable than my previous LX7 mouse, but the fit of this mouse still doesn't feel quite right for me. I'm hoping it's just a period of adjustment. It is comfortable but it is a little big for my hands. I find that I have to really reach with my thumb to hit the 'forward' button. If the forward and back buttons would have been moved back half a centimeter it would be perfect. The hidden thumb button takes some effort to press; you won't have to worry about pressing it by accident.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Mouse

Pros: This mouse is the most comfortable I've ever used. All the buttons are easily reached. I use it for intense first person gaming (Fallout 3, Modern Warfare, Crysis, etc.) and have had no issues with lag or accuracy. Great range, small USB transmitter, good battery life.

Cons: None, Highly recommended.

Other Thoughts: On/off switch should be on top so that you remember to use it more often.

3 out of 5 eggsNot plug & play for gaming.

Pros: 1. Smooth tracking and very functional with Windows 7 desktop apps.
2. Mouse wheel is very smooth in both modes.
3. Good medium weight mouse.
4. Very energy efficient.
5. Great range for larger rooms, such as my home theater.

Cons: The included Logitech SetPoint software is very confusing bordering on junk. (the only current option for W7)
I bought this mouse for gaming and after about 2 days of messing with numerous setting, I am finally getting some results. There are other reviews that state the same issues and I confirm them. This is a con for the software alone.

The only con I have for the mouse is that in some games such as BF2, the #4 +#5 mouse button have serious lag. I have tested this on dozens of servers with the same results. All of the other buttons fuction normally.. strange.

Other Thoughts: I am giving this only 3 eggs, -1 for the garbage software and -1 for strange lag issues that frustrate me.

I would NOT, recommend this mouse for gaming!!

4 out of 5 eggsGood but with a few issues

Pros: *Very comfortable mouse to use.

*Accepts only 1 AA battery instead of 2 if you want to cut down on weight.

*On/Off switch.

*Free scroll mode will spin for a long time.

*Great battery life.

*Cool hidden thumb button.

*DPI and scroll mode switching.

Cons: *Lag issues. I can be doing something and the cursor will briefly freeze then catch up. Sometimes it will remain stuck for several seconds. It seems to happen when there is alot going on, when the computer is being used intensively. Although it might be wireless interfering because my router is 2 feet away. I'm still diagnosing it. Either way it's EXTREMELY annoying having the cursor freeze up randomly like this.

*Unlike some that have trouble with the scroll wheel tilt buttons being clicked when using the wheel, I find it very difficult at times to click something with the scroll wheel (it's set to act as double-click) without scrolling up or down on accident and end up clicking something else entirely. It doesn't matter if the wheel is set to free scroll or not. It can be very annoying trying to click something and every time you try the screen jumps up or down a little and you miss.

Other Thoughts: This is a very comfortable mouse with lots of programmable buttons and even a hidden one. It has a few issues that I'm trying to iron out. If I can get rid of the problems above it will be a 5-star mouse because everything else about it is great. If the above issues persist no matter how comfortable it is I don't see me using it for long. The freezing cursor is on my last nerve.

2 out of 5 eggsMouse is Okay - Software for OS X is Terrible

Pros: I don't really have any problems with the mouse itself. I like the "hidden" thumb button. The free scrolling mode is kind of gimmicky but could potentially be useful to someone.

Some other people have mentioned that the tilt wheel functions are nearly impossible to use. They are correct, it is nearly impossible to avoid activating it accidentally while scrolling. But I feel like the mouse has enough buttons even without the tilt switch being usable.

Cons: The "Logitech Control Center" software for OS X is terrible. Using it completely ruins the mouse. I'll cover just some aspects of how it is terrible since I have limited space but please be aware that there are even more problems that I do not mention.

Whenever you have the Logitech software installed their awful driver makes the scroll wheel hypersensitive and jittery regardless of how you set the scroll speed options.

With the awful Logitech driver it is almost impossible to get the scroll wheel to stop on any particular line. Instead you will be treated to the documents you are trying to read constantly jittering up and down. This happens regardless of whether the mouse is in "normal" or "free scroll" modes.

It is also almost impossible to middle click links on webpages since as soon as you even think about touching the scroll wheel in order to click it the link will jitter away from your cursor.

However, the scroll wheel works totally fine when the software is not insta

Other Thoughts: The mouse mostly works even without its terrible software installed.

Unfortunately some features of the mouse are unavailable without using the software. For example, rebinding the otherwise useless "sensitivity adjustment" buttons to something worthwhile seems to be impossible unless you are willing to install the software and suffer a dysfunctional scroll wheel (and other problems.)

Installing Logitech's terrible software also breaks some of the operating system's mouse settings. The setting for scroll sensitivity does absolutely nothing when the software is installed. Also it breaks the tracking speed setting, but only sometimes.

Sometimes the Logitech driver decides to use its own tracking speed setting and sometimes it decides to use the OS setting. And sometimes it will randomly change the tracking speed for no apparent reason. This is a great feature if you like to be surprised by how fast your mouse moves on the screen. It really livens up the mousing experience.

5 out of 5 eggsA good mouse.

Pros: I went from an MX1000 to an MX Revolution and I got the MX1100 when it went on sale recently.

-Shape-wise, it's pretty similar to the MX1000, which is a little more conventional and, in my opinion, a little more comfortable than the MX Revolution.

-The scroll wheel mode-switcher feels more robust and responsive the way they implemented it on the MX Revolution, and hopefully that means it won't break as easily as it did on the MX Rev (mine is fine, but a lot of people had that problem).

-I only found out about the extra buried thumb-button, which is definitely a pleasant surprise.

-Unlike the MX1000 and MX Revolution, it uses AAs. Currently using a pair of freshly charged Eneloops, and it's reporting 200+ days left. Could be a con for some, but the convenience of just switching AAs means you don't have to wait for it to recharge.

Do yourself and install uberoptions, which should let you reassign any and all the mouse buttons (save for the mode-switcher) to whatever yo

Cons: -The forward/back thumb buttons are a little smaller and you have to move your thumb from its natural position to hit them; not a big deal, but it's not the most natural.

-As mentioned earlier, the scroll mode-switcher button is not configurable as it seems that all it does is mechanically switch the scroll wheel modes, hopefully meaning it won't break as easily, but time will tell.

-It uses AA batteries. Being rechargeable means you don't have to swap out batteries, so it could become inconvenient.

-Receiver uses RF! It boggles me why everything isn't Bluetooth. I haven't experienced any interference myself, but I can definitely see this being a problem if it's near other wireless devices.

Other Thoughts: -As mentioned before, the fact the mouse uses AAs could be a pro or con. I personally prefer the long periods between battery changes, and I use the rechargeable Eneloops anyway. The MX1000 and MX Rev would require charging about once every week, and it was a bit of a pain to charge and wait. I didn't try to recharge every night, because I read that if you didn't follow a strict recharging regimen (use until near empty charge, then recharge to full), you ran the risk of reducing the capacity of mouse. I could be wrong though, but that's what I recall reading from reviews of MX Revs.

The one major problem I would think to be had with this mouse is the choice of using RF, which will lead to interference, especially around wifi devices. However, with Bluetooth there could be pairing issues and the like.

All in all, I think this is a good mouse. I haven't experienced any lagging or movement issues. Time will tell if this mouse was built to last.

5 out of 5 eggsFull-Sized Mouse with Lots of Rebindable Buttons

Pros: 1. 8 rebindable buttons (LMB, RMB, tilt wheel left/right/down, side forward/backward, stealth key)
2. Good button placement, especially the dual-DPI rocker.
3. Nice "stealth" button on the side
4. Separate clicky/smooth wheel mode switch (unlike the MX Revolution)
5. Includes a micro-receiver (yes, micro, not mini - see "other thoughts")
6. Includes 2 x AA Duracell pile alkalines which provides ~4 months of power (See Other Thoughts)
7. 2.4 GHz wireless and it's a laser tracking mouse

Cons: 1. Only two DPI settings (minor since I really only use 2 in most cases - gaming/high sense and desktop work/low sens)
2. The stealth button is now finicky. I have to roll my thumb while pressing it for it to work. Not a big con for me since after 11 months of use, I still have not found a actual use for the key other than the default "Aero Glide" window feature.

Other Thoughts: The receiver is a micro-receiver. Dieu below/above is mistaken that the receiver is not micro. I'm sure he assumed it would come with the new mini-receiver (the really small one). It does not, though the new "Unified" mini-receiver does and will work with the MX1100 as well as all other 2.4 GHz wireless Logitech products.

The battery life is excellent! With the two included AA Duracell batteries, I got almost 4 months of battery life (108 days) using it for desktop/web surfing, graphics work, gaming (FPS, strategy, RPGs), animation work, and 3D modeling (Maya). I have since replaced them and have gone through a pair of Rayovac AA alkalines (~3 months of life). I'm now using Kirkland Signature AA pile alkalines and expect another 4 months or more of battery life.

The reliance on AAs may be a put off for some, but for others like me who could no longer stand the charging cradles and non-user replaceable batteries, this is a big relief. I highly recommend this mouse to others

5 out of 5 eggsLike it better than MX Rev

Pros: I have several Logitech mice; this is my favorite.

Fills the hand (you can relax your wrist on it)
Forward/backward switches for thumb and index finger
Battery life several months on avg
Works well with Linux and XP (hidpoint & setpoint)

Cons: The hidden button takes a firm press to activate, but I don't use it that often, so I don't care much.

Other Thoughts: I stopped by BB and Circuit City to feel mice before getting this one, and I prefer the feel to many other Logitech and Microsoft mice. I own an MX Revolution and the V550 (great for travel), and prefer this to either. Buttons are exactly where I like them and unobtrusive, and I don't hit them on accident (an MX failing IMO, esp with thumb toggle).

Cons: Constantly having to move to get out of constant lags

Other Thoughts: tried moving the little transmitter to various USB ports, on and off the computer to no avail. Still slips into constant lags. Especially when doing intensive tasks like compression of files.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse or greatest mouse

Pros: Upgraded from a MX revolution that never felt quite right.

Mice are like cars, not everybody should be driving the same thing.
Having said that, this is for me the perfect mouse. It fits my hand like nothing else. The version I have can be used wireless/wired for charging while using.

Cons: Really none.
I guess no darkfield technology that logitech is just now rolling out, but nothing is futureproof.

Other Thoughts: Put this mouse in your hand, if it feels right in size, get this over logitech MX revolution, its better in every way.

1 out of 5 eggsHigh Hopes

Pros: Very good feel

Cons: Side buttons require a thumb as long as my fingers to reach. I tossed the packing or I would return it. Now I am just out $80. Not a Logitech hater, going back to my MX518

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth half the price

Pros: Feels good, comfy mouse. I do not know if it falls under a "pro" but the hidden thumb button is kind of cool for like switching between apps?

Cons: I bought this mouse as an upgrade to the Logitech MX1000... what a huge letdown. The Logitech MX1000 is superior to this mouse in every way I could imagine except the "feel". I RMA'd it and would never recommend this mouse to a friend. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a mouse there are better out there especially for the price (I paid $48.99 with a credit I had).

Other Thoughts: Two DPI buttons near the index finger were not able to be programmed for any of the games I tried it with to do anything.. but change the DPI. The middle button under the scroll is not a button at all and does not program.. so you're left with 3 buttons (including the hidden thumb button which isn't exactly streamlined) and the left/right toggle scroll buttons to program.

3 out of 5 eggsWheel is the problem, a killer problem

Pros: Very comfortable to the hand.

Logitech Control Panel works very well (in the current version) with Mac OSX 10.5, and the preconfigured functions of the buttons are well-selected. Reprogramming button functions is easy and works well, and functions are selectable for specific programs, allowing different button functions in differenct program environments.

Great battery life.

Cons: The wheel is the problem. I really wanted to like and use this mouse, but after a month of use -- and many adjustments in my technique, and good familiarity with the product -- I switched back to my old corded MX500, which is in my opinion one of the best mouses on market. Unlike the MX500 series, the wheel here will not give a solid "click by click line scroll", so when scrolling pages it tends to "jump" up or back a line or two, what I call "scroll jitters". The MX500 series mouse never does this.

The other problem with the scroll wheel is the sensitivity of the lateral/tilt button in the wheel -- side to side tilt is a programable click function. I have found it impossible to run a fast scroll through a page without accidentally moving the wheel to one side or the other and activating the tilt click function. Of course, I wanted to use this tilt wheel functions, but when scrolling it became a constant problem. And believe me, for a month I really tried to like it and use it

Other Thoughts: I did not return the mouse (used it too long trying to get used to it). Now it is in the drawer as a backup. It do not need to use the lateral wheel clicks for anything, or do not care about smooth scrolling through text (a major thing for me), then it might work for you. Sorry to give a bad review. Logitech MX500 series are the definitely the best, and I use several on different computers for complex tasks. I only wish they made the same mouse in a wireless model.

Pros: Full sized, powered by AA batteries (I hate using docks), comes with batteries which was suprising.

Cons: Will stutter, lag, or freeze if near a wi-fi source

Other Thoughts: I use this on a desktop. It worked great until I installed a wireless PCI card. Then the mouse started freezing up whenever there was wi-fi activity. Luckily my case has USB ports on the front, so I moved the mouse USB receiver to the front, away from the wireless card in the back. Now the interference seems to be gone. If I didn't have USB ports in the front this mouse would have been unusable.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother glowingly positive review

Pros: Superb ergonomics for people with average to large hands, precision tracking without noticeable lag as a general use mouse, 3 extra buttons easily programmable for numerous functions through Macintosh preference pane, easily adjustable scrolling ("rapid vs precision") and responsiveness controlled by two additional buttons on the mouse itself, AA batteries liberate owners from more power bricks and cradles.

Cons: Heavier than many mice (I prefer this), clearly biased to right handers.

Other Thoughts: My immediate response after long use of Apple mice is, "Why did I not do this years ago?" Low grade repetitive motion / carpal tunnel symptoms I have recently experienced are noticeably better after only a few days of heavy usage. I can't yet comment on battery life or suitability for gaming, but I think this is an outstanding general use mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Product!

Pros: First off the comfort zone is a 10 on a scale of 10 being the highest. This mouse has true precision and the buttons can be customized to the end user. The battery life is amazing. The battery life cycle is like 285 days. If you are shopping for a mouse, just stop and pick this one up. I cant describe how well this mouse performs not just for games but for applications as well. The on the fly dpi changer really helps in games when you need to raise or lower your precison/ sensitiviy. The Logitiech MX1100 is simply the best mouse I have ever owned.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just buy it. You will see that this is well worth the investment.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT GREAT

Pros: Rapidscroll is a great feature-works well. Good quality manufacture, solid feel. Good battery life. Good compliment of programmable buttons. Compact receiver, good range.

Cons: In comparing this to my favorite, a Microsoft Natural Laser 6000, it's just not as good. It's not as comfortable-just doesn't conform to the hand as well and the tracking isn't as precise. I'm not sure if I would call it lag but when starting to move the mouse the cursor starts to move too slowly before catching up, whereas, with the 6000 it's right there, instantly. usoft's seem to track best of any mice. Rather disappointing, I had expected to really like this mouse. If only the usoft 6000 had the extra buttons it would be, just about, the perfect mouse.

Other Thoughts: Anyone wanna buy a barely used MX1100?

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This mouse is fantastic. First off, it's ergonomically pleasing (my roommate tried it and yelled MY HAND IS SO HAPPY). The battery also lasts forever. I've had this for almost six months and it's only now telling me my batteries (non-rechargable 1.5v AAs) are low (I use it heavily, probably upwards of ten hours a day). The buttons are customizable. The scroll wheel has that nifty not-new Hyperscroll feature. As far as I'm concerned, the MX Revolution doesn't exist and this is the successor to the MX1000.

Cons: It could be a little wider. My hand is slightly larger than average and as a previous poster mentioned, the grooves for the pinky and ring finger are a little tight, making them feel slightly squished. Also, the side scroll needs a greater range of motion. Half the time I try to side scroll I actually do a wheel-click because there isn't a proper amount of room for the wheel to actually tilt to the side without also pressing down. This isn't a huge problem because not that many things recognize side scroll anyway.

Other Thoughts: I've had a difficult time finding an appropriate use for the hidden tenth button. Right now it's set to Zoom reset (I spend a lot of time in the browser changing view zoom) but I'm sure there's a much better use.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: This mouse is super easy to program if you want to do more than the standards setting. Very comfortable to use and has a nice weight to it. Really works smooth and all the controls are in just the right spots. I don't play games but for a desktop mouse this is to mice what the logitech programmable remote did for remotes.

Cons: It bigger than a standard mouse so if you have real small hands it may be awkward to use. Other than that I can't think of anything.

Other Thoughts: Having only used a corded wireless mouse and a basic logitech wireless mouse this is a monumental upgrade. If I had known how awesome this was I would have bought it sooner.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Love Logitech mice and have had too many to count over the years. This one just replaced an tired MX900 Bluetooth Optical Mouse from them. This new mouse has quite a different feel and slant to the right. At first felt odd, but it already feels much better than the old mouse. Love how you can change the wheel operation by click of a button now.

Cons: No rechargeable battery / base. But since the one this just replaced batteries never kept a charge, maybe standard alkaline that say should last 200+ days, maybe it wont matter.
Is a bit expensive but Logitech's newer mice always seem to be a tad on the high side. But if you want cheap, buy a 2 dollar generic mouse. This is all about comfort and function.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully many many miles will be racked up on this one as well. Never had a Logitech mouse fail, usually batteries or something much nicer comes out before I can beat it into the ground. I have warn paint clean off the buttons from too much use and they just keep going.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh..

Pros: Supposed 1600 dpi engine, quite a few buttons, wireless convenience, ergonomics. It does feel quite good in the hand.

Cons: Tracking...I'm not sure about other people but compared to any Logitech gaming mouse this doesn't come close. The mouse is unable to track fine movements of the hand. Say you want to move just a few pixels over on your screen to try to get a headshot on someone...well good luck because you won't get that headshot. You'll end up somewhere else, way far away...or you won't even move at all and you'll end up dieing. You have to really MOVE the mouse to get it to recognize that you're actually MOVING it....for gaming this is definitely a BAD thing.

Other Thoughts: For general use this mouse is pretty nice. I wouldn't want to use it for design work such as Inventor or 3DS Max..it just cannot track smoothly or accurately enough at any DPI setting.

The only reason I would buy this mouse is for a backup computer or a computer thats just for general use. I wouldn't buy this if you like to game. Seriously, save yourself the trouble. You'll be much happier with a G5, G7, G9, or some other gaming mouse. They track significantly better and are much more accurate than this mouse is.

5 out of 5 eggsWireless Gamer

Pros: Wireless. Great Range. Easy setup. Great precision even for sniping shooters. Great so far.

Cons: A wee bit large but it's growing on me.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I wanted to hook my pew pew up to my 37" tv. I needed this wireless mouse and a quality keyboard (also logitech). I'm coming from an mx-518 gaming mouse and i'm still getting used to feel of this mouse. That is to be expected though. I've been playing BF2 and crysis warhead with this as well as general web browsing and it has not disappointed. If you want to jump to a wireless solution or htpc then i highly recommend this mouse. if your sticking with a smaller lcd to game on then i'd stick with a corded gaming mouse. just my .02

5 out of 5 eggsA solid product that is almost perfect

Pros: The MX1100 is a quality product that has many useful features that I do not want to reintroduce to you. Here are the pros and cons based on the the way I perceive this product:
PROS: High quality sensor, nice feet (easily replaceable), good weight , convenience of the standard AA batteries (quality NiMH in 1.2V rechargeable AAs work very well), great task switching feature well-presented whet you use the SetPoint software (always have the latest version!), dynamic resolution adjustment feature is useful in all applications - not just in games.

Cons: CONS: the mouse is a bit TOO WIDE. So, the top of this mouse should have been made more inclined to slope to the right. The Back/Forward buttons should have been made larger.

Other Thoughts: in order to attain the expected battery life, always stick with high quality rechargeables (Maha, Sanyo). No NiCd batteries!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Mouse for CAD

Pros: The PROs of this mouse are:
-Great fit in my hand. All good "ergo" tools feel big to me at first - til my hand relaxes from its old cramped up position.
-Uses std AA batts. I HATE special batteries. You, or someone near by, will always be able to dig up a AA batt.
-Good precision. I use it on a med setting and a low setting for speed and have no trouble selecting things in SolidWorks or ProEng CAD.
-The way it centers the zoom function on the location of the cursor is great for CAD.
-The laser reads well, even on my semi-gloss black drafting table. My old optical mouse needed a pc of paper to move on for good operation.

Cons: Price. But for me the comfort and function are worth it!

Other Thoughts: A nice piece of equipment.
I would have preferred the mini stub USB adaptor for my laptop.

Pros: High DPI and the ability to adjust DPI settings. Customizable buttons. Document fly wheel is inventive and highly useful -- don't know how I got along without it. Mouse is fast and responsive. Feels natural in the hand. Some might consider it heavy due to the AA batteries, but my Gearhead wireless mouse was twice as heavy as this one, so I consider this fairly light.

Cons: Could be cheaper. Somewhat poor response to small/precision movements. The side buttons are placed too high, which is annoying. Not sure how good this mouse would be for people with large hands.

Other Thoughts: I really do like this mouse. I suspect I will not be purchasing a new one for quite a while.

3 out of 5 eggsNot excited

Pros: Nicely contoured.
Custom DPI settings/high DPI.
Plethora of buttons.
Love the dual scroll-wheel. Easy to switch between fly-wheel and click-wheel.
IR laser, no more red lights.
"Hidden" button is convenient, had to actually look at the box to find out where it was though, so it is truly hidden.
Great battery life.

Can actually use all buttons with Vista.

Cons: Setpoint is terrible. ***Lag issue*** Turn speed and acceleration in setpoint from "software" to "OS" implementation. Under setpoint it was very hard to maneuver to specific locations, would feel like the cursor was magnetized against whatever I was trying to point at.

Can't click and hold anything but mouse 1, 2, and 3 (scroll wheel button). I used to bind mouse 4 for mic in games, but all it does is send a "click" signal, instead of a continuous signal.

Other Thoughts: Setpoint speed management is terrible. ***Lag issue*** Turn speed and acceleration in setpoint from "software" to "OS" implementation. With setpoint managing it, it was extremely hard to make precise movements. OS managing it made it feel like a normal mouse again. Had to read lots of forums (fora?) to discover this.

Might be heavy from someone coming from a wired mouse, or newer MX series. I came from MX700, and the 1100 might be a bit lighter.

If I could do it again, I'd go with a different wireless mouse, or even back to wired.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for some, but not acceptable for price

Pros: Many buttons. DPI switching.

Cons: Poor accuracy with fine movements (detail work and even selecting text and clicking on small links).

Other Thoughts: The ergonomics seem like they would be nice for people who hold a mouse in their palm. Not as nice for people who hold them with the fingertips, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

The side buttons' placement is a little high, but it can be gotten used to.

You may or may not enjoy using AA batteries. They do last a fairly long time, but I would still rather have a recharging station.

The real problem is the poor accuracy with fine movements. It's like using a ball mouse. Pretty unacceptable for a mouse as expensive as this one. Also unacceptable when the predecessor to this mouse, the MX 1000, had no such problem. A lot of people probably wouldn't notice it, but I have no idea why a person who wouldn't notice poor accuracy like this would be paying this much for a mouse.

I'd only recommend this mouse to people who are looking for a specific feature that only this mouse provides and don't care about the accuracy issue. Otherwise, there are better options out there.

5 out of 5 eggsGood mouse, some minor nitpicks

Pros: First off, this mouse looks great and feels great in the hand. I would say I have average sized hands, and the shape of the mouse is really comfortable. It's well built and is pretty heavy with the two AA's in, which depending on what you're looking for is a good or bad thing. Personally, I love the extra weight. I noticed there aren't really any pictures of the wireless receiver up here so I will describe it: it sticks out from the usb port about 1 and a 1/4 inches, so it's not that large at all. Thing to note for laptop users or people who will travel with this mouse: there isn't anywhere on or in the mouse to store the usb receiver, so you might want to look for a little pouch or case to carry everything in. The scroll wheel is awesome, the hidden button is well placed, and shouldn't get in the way of normal mouse usage, and all the other buttons feel good when clicked.
I like that it doesn't use a rechargeable battery.

Cons: Another reviewer said that there is a bit of lag when you move small distances, for instance a quarter inch. I will agree with that, but if you decrease the speed of the mouse pointer in the setpoint software or using the dpi buttons on the mouse, the "lag" or jumping phenomenon won't really be a problem. I use programs like photoshop, illustrator, and 3d modeling software daily, and this mouse works fine, especially at a lower dpi setting like 600 dpi or so. Also, it seems like this mouse is more accurate when you move your entire hand, rather than just move your wrist around. This is taking some getting used to for me, but isn't a huge problem.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this mouse if you are an intense fps gamer, or really any player of a game that requires intense precision. Get a gaming mouse. But I do play counterstrike fairly often, and this mouse works well. So, if you are someone who will go crazy because a mouse is imprecise in the slightest, have tiny hands, or like a quick and light mouse, I would say look elsewhere for a mouse. But if you need a large, comfortable mouse and plan on using it for every day tasks and even some design/drafting and gaming (to a lesser extent), this mouse is pretty awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING

Pros: REALLY comfortable! The switchable wheel is very nice. Buttons are very easy to program, and all seem very easy to adjust to placement.

I have been using a couple half dead AA's since i first got it (almost a month) and still have 180 days worth of use. It has a good idle timer to help increase battery life. It can even run on only 1 battery.

Cons: Only thing can really complain about is there is no travel dock for the USB tranciever.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this mouse...it made my bro so jealous he's been threatening to steal it for 3 weeks straight.

Pros: This mouse is awesome! It has a lot of buttons, great design, fully customizable, two DPI buttons, "stealth button", two other thumb buttons, two scrolling methods, tilt wheel. Tracks well on many surfaces. The MX1100 comes with great software. You can customize 8 out of 10 buttons, and you can even customize the DPI values for the DPI buttons (from 400 to 1600). The mouse is not too big, not too small. There's an on and off switch, and I recommend users to use it when the computer is off to save batteries.

Cons: There isn't much room for my ring finger and pinky, they feel cramped. Also, I wish there was more than two DPI settings. The mouse is kind of heavy, from the weight of the batteries. The mouse costs a lot, so I recommend shoppers to try and wait for savings/sales.

Other Thoughts: Some say this mouse is really big, but actually it's just a tiny bit small for me. It could be longer so the bottom of my palm won't touch the desk and would relax on the mouse, and its side could be bigger so there would be more room for my ring finger and pinky. All in all, this is a GREAT mouse, 5/5! I recommend this!

Pros: Lots of buttons to assign, and juggle and play with, great control, I love this mouse.

Cons: Stealth Button is a bit easy to miss if your in a rush (gaming).

5 out of 5 eggsmx1100

Pros: Delivered in 1 day awesome. newegg rocks as usual.
Man! i have been eyeing this mouse for nearly 2 months and i believe me i think i have spent over 20 hours reading reviews of every razer, logitech and microsoft mice. Coming from a mx518 and having physically played games with the G5, deathadder, and the diamondback, i believe the mx1100 is the most comfortable mouse. Like the mx1000 its got a nice curvature that fits my big hand. Looks elegant, black matte finish really distinguishes this mouse from other mice.

Cons: if i physically shake the mouse left and right (counter strike habit) the scroll wheel makes a little noise as it pivots left and right. kinda annoying.

if i press the little button that switches the scroll wheel from free rotation to click-every-time-it-rotates, the vibration from the clicking kinda bothers me

Other Thoughts: All in all, although it is quite expensive this is the perfect mouse for mild gaming and everyday use. Certainly the most comfortable mouse out there right now. if the price is right (i got it on sale), then go ahead and grab it! what are you waiting for?

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: I don't write reviews often, but this deserved one. You have to be a serious PC user to buy a eighty dollar mouse, but it's worth the price. The hyper scroll is amazing and after a day of using it, I already get frustrated going back to a standard mouse. There are 5 programmable buttons, and that's not even including any of the scroll wheel functions!

Cons: Wish you could have more than just 2 preset dpi sensitivities. I have one set very low at 600dpi and the other very high at 1200dpi.

Other Thoughts: I have massive hands and this was one of the only high quality mice that would fit my hands. It's pretty big. I was considering the MX Revolution but I didn't like the flip switch that sits next to your thumb. That mouse is more for business users. The MX 1100 is very versatile and even makes a good gaming mouse with all the buttons and 1600dpi laser with adjustable sensitivities.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Extremely comfortable, smooth scrolling, tracks well, and over all an extremely sturdy build. I have rather large hands, and this mouse fits perfectly. The two thumb buttons have excellent placement. I can hit both without having to move my hand at all. The software is nice and allows you to customize all the buttons, as well as giving you some other information about the mouse such as battery life, and allows you to set the scrolling and tracking to your needs / comfort.

Cons: None that I can see.

Other Thoughts: This is an over all great mouse. It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it if you use a mouse 8+ hours a day. The comfort this mouse provides is outstanding.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant Successor to the MX1000

Pros: Even more comfortable than the MX1000; incredible battery life; smoothest mouse I have ever used.

This mouse is easily the most comfortable and intuitive Logitech device I have owned so far - the grip and movement of it feels 100% natural, and I can safely say the purchase was well worth the money. I'm still in disbelief that my latest charge of the two AA batteries in the mouse has lasted, so far, around 100-110 hours - and the status screen reports that they are still at 90% capacity!

Any problems with previous Logitech models of the mice either being too uncomfortable or having poorly-positioned buttons are long-forgotten when using this mouse - the hidden thumb button, forward/backward navigation buttons, and scroll wheel are a pure pleasure to use.

This mouse is far less picky than previous wireless mice(including my previous MX1000) with regards to the surface it is used on. The teflon pads feel far smoother than those found on older Logitech mice.

Cons: I would not recommend this mouse to those who spend a vast majority of their time working with graphics/CAD and so forth - very small movements are a slight challenge with this, but that can be remedied partially with setting the DPI to 400 and turning off acceleration, as well as a bit of time and practice to get used to it.

Other Thoughts: For most games, web browsing, and other general use, this will most assuredly be the most comfortable mouse you will ever use.

I felt that the loss of the recharging station is a significant advantage with the absurd longevity this mouse somehow draws from two AA batteries.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid mouse with good feel

Pros: The thumb button is wonderful and gets used far more than I ever thought it would. I also enjoy that you can alter the behavior of the scroll wheel. The feel on the hands is great and it is just solid enough to feel substantial without being awkward. I have had this mouse for almost a month and it still shows full charge.

Cons: No rechargeable battery so I just use AA rechargeables instead.

Other Thoughts: This mouse is not cheap but I have learned not to cheap out on input devices. I made that mistake with my keyboard and now have to order a new one. The MX 1100 was the perfect balance between price and quality for my needs. I'm not a gamer so the top button response issues mentioned in here do not affect me.

3 out of 5 eggs1 Step Forwards, 2 Steps Back.

Pros: The hidden thumb button is very useful, something I wish more mice would have. More buttons usable by the thumb the better. The battery life is amazing. I put in 2 AA batteries when I first got my mouse almost a month ago, and it still shows as having 25 days of battery life. I use this mouse heavily, 5-10 hours a day.

Cons: The top 2 thumb buttons have lost functionality from prior Logitech mice to aid battery life. Neither of these buttons can be held down, they simply send a quick instant signal when pressed. This makes no difference when web browsing, but attempting to play any video games where you have to hold buttons down makes these buttons near useless. Also, they removed the document switch button from below the wheel and changed that into a mechanical button to switch the wheel between free spin and non free spin mode. Again, helps with battery life but that button was a great replacement for middle click that I can no longer use.

Other Thoughts: The mouse is a technological marvel with how long they manage to get the battery life, but the mouse is unfortunately strictly less functional than the MX Revolution, which was also a bit of a step down from the MX 1000.

Pros: Lots of buttons. Nice software. Nice size and weight.
Battery seems to last forever.

Cons: Scroll wheel seems a little floppy.

Other Thoughts: I like it a lot. Replaced my Mx 700 which only held a charge for a couple of days.

5 out of 5 eggsWas There Life Before Logitech?

Pros: Best mouse on the market right now. The Hyper Scroll activation has been moved from a software based decision with the scroll wheel being depressed to the button just behind the scroll wheel, instead of having the search option there. Which is more than just fine, it gives you back the option for universal scroll, or autoscroll or one of many other options. The forward and back buttons are very well placed and very easy to access. The 10th button, which is right below the thumb, is perfect and makes for using the page flip in Vista very friendly and it's not easily depressed so you don't ever worry about accidentally doing that. The DPI setting button is a great feature to change between simple surfing to more crucial work in AutoCAD, PhotoShop or CorelDraw. No complaints with this mouse, top notch workmanship that Logitech has became known for in their mouse products.

Cons: There are no real cons. I did like the feature of being able to drop it into a recharge station, but i was having to do that once a week. I have had this mouse for almost a month and it is still reading high on battery life left from the original batteries.

Other Thoughts: This thing is an awesome mouse and i would recommend it to everybody. I came from the MX Revolution, i also have the VX Revolution for my laptop. How, may i ask, do you ever go back to anything else after having Hyper Scroll?? Well put together mouse and seems to be "softer" than the MX Revolution, though the MX Revolution is a very nice mouse itself and these two are pretty much on par with each other. I have tried about every mouse from Logitech and from Microsoft that have come out, Logitech is the hands down winner and i wont look anywhere else now because of their Hyper Scroll feature and quality.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mouse

Pros: Very comfortable for long term use, I really enjoy the "hidden" thumb button, works great. As many Logitech mouses I've owned, this is definitely top notch.

Cons: Wish it was rechargeable.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why anyone would complain that this mouse is not comfortable, is your hand a claw?

Pros: None

Cons: Horribly uncomfortable. Mouse wheel is laggy. The Forward and Back Buttons are too high and . The "hidden" 10th thumb button simply isn't recognized by most/all programs. Mouse tracking is terrible. I have severe buyers remorse from purchasing this mouse and will be returning it asap. Absolute garbage.

5 out of 5 eggswhere is the USB micro receiver?

Pros: Almost everything.

Cons: Did Logitech pull an 11th hour change on the USB reciever? This is supposed to have the 2.4GHz micro reciever. However, it seems that they changed their minds and snuck in the traditional full length receiver. Their website still lists the micro receiver as being included. Major dissappointment.

Other Thoughts: Major screw-up on Logitech's part.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't wait to get my hands on this!

Pros: I currently have the original MX1000, which has served me faithfully for years. I have one of these on the way, though, and will take the MX1000 to work. At first i was turned off by the lack of a rechargeable battery pack, but it really is better since you don't have to remember to leave it on a charging cradle or worry about your kid using up the entire charge while you're at work. I also like the DPI-on-the-fly switch.

Cons: wish it was cheaper, although it's the same as i paid for my MX1000 when it came out.

Other Thoughts: I've never been a fan of Logitech keyboards since the letters were wearing off of every one i've used, but i love their mice! Gizmodo loves this mouse also.
