5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse i've used

Pros: great design.
great for RTS games.
great all around.

as you can tell. I'm a fan boy of this device.
to tell the whole story, this device made me a Logitech fan.

Cons: some people say playing an fps with this mouse is a bit of a handicap.
scroll shell would be nice. but its hard to imagine how it can be inter grated without messing up the great design it has.

Other Thoughts: I've used this mouse for over 18 years of heavy RTS games and I've only replaced it once (2 years go).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: -Ambidextrous design.
-High precision control.
-Comfortable for long use.
-Lasts for years.
-Easy to clean for a ball mouse.
-Long cable.

Cons: -No scroll wheel.
-Slight learning curve.

Other Thoughts: I have been using this model mouse for a very long time. I have found it useful for a number a situations; gaming, graphic design, tight spaces. It's sturdy and reliable. Once you get passed the very easy learning curve, it becomes a very versatile device. Highly recommended to beginners and advanced users alike.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse ever

Pros: Ive use this mouse for almost 10 years... i have one of these babys that has well over 5000 hours of use (gaming use at that) and is still being used today.

i purchased another one of these for my wife when the one she had (one of these) finally gave out. (as old as my other one just not as well taken care of

Cons: none.... nuff said

Other Thoughts: if you like to use a scroll ball mouse but dont like to use your thumb this is the mouse for you. i will never own another mouse as long as this model stays available. it may take getting use to but once you do you get amazing control over your cursor.

5 out of 5 eggsLogitech Trackman Marble Mouse

Pros: I've used these for almost 10 years and I'm just as happy with them now as I was then. Not for serious gaming, but work very well for everything else.

Cons: A bit of a learning curve to get used to these mice. Once you've got it old-fashioned mice won't do.

Other Thoughts: I try to keep a couple of these stored away. I end up giving them away to family members.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Feels great in the hand, and seems to be high quality.

Cons: No scroll wheel (only programmable scroll buttions). Takes a bit to get used but not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I had very little desktop space, and a regular optical mouse was not really an option. This mouse does a great job of replacing an optical mouse, and you never have to move it thanks to the trackball. Love it so far.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Easy to use
-Support out of box on every OS
-Long USB cord
-Reliable

I have been using this mouse for about 2 years now. For doing any type of photo editing it is a must have. This have been the most useful mouse that I have ever owned and has outlasted a number of others that I have purchased.

Cons: No Scroll wheel.
Slight learning curb.

Other Thoughts: For anyone that needs a good mouse or that is finding them self working on large click to drag projects this is the one for you. I found out about this particular one from my Yearbook teacher back when I was in highschool. I thought it was a little bit weird to get used to but after I haven't looked back.

3 out of 5 eggsUsed to be great but quality lacking lately

Pros: Great control and accuracy, once one gets used to the feel of it very hard to go back to a normal mouse.

Cons: The buttons wear out unusually fast. I have used this style of mouse for over 5 years or so and recently I have had to replace them much more rapidly than before. I use them for gaming and probably press the buttons more than an average computer user, but the mouse isn't even lasting 6 months anymore.

Other Thoughts: A great mouse for a non-gamer, look elsewhere if you want a mouse that is going to last through numerous clicks.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Well sized trackball that is not made only for right hand use. I use this with my left hand without issue.

Cons: No middle button or button easily made to be middle-click under Linux.

Other Thoughts: The lack of a middle click isn't too bad as that can be emulated, but it is a bit annoying to have to set up.

While I've only this most recent one for the few months, I've had others (PS/2 only, even) for years. I've yet to have one actually wear out.

5 out of 5 eggsMy favorite mouse ever

Pros: -Very ergonomic.
-Not having to move the mouse around means little desk space required.
-This mouse is killer for FPS gaming or any game that requires high precision. Once you find the right aim, take your finger off the ball and you can hammer away on the fire button without your aiming reticule moving a single pixel. Great for strafing!
-Also great for any "virtual dj" software that has "scratching". As a former club dj, I can attest to the effectiveness of a trackball vs conventional mouse for virtual "scratching"
-Easy to clean. The ball just lifts off and any dirt (I'm a cig smoker, ashes do fall) that happens to collect on the optical sensor can easily be wiped away.
-If you are into the emulation scene as I am, particularly old school arcade games that had a trackball or a dial/paddle, then this is THE only way to play those games faithfully. Aside from the obvious games like Centipede and Missile command that use a trackball, games like Tron which had a dial can be faithfully replicated by twisting the ball clockwise/anti-clockwise (This was the reason I got my first marble mouse in the first place 10 years ago)

Cons: -If the ball gets the tiniest dent in it, the ball tends to "stick" on the little nylon pegs that support it.
-Has a bit of a learning curve to get used to. Anyone who has ever used my computer always say the same thing: "I HATE this mouse!" but after a few days of use, you adapt and there's no going back to a "normal" mouse.
-The ball may just a bit too easy to come off. For cleaning purposes this is great (dirt DOES build up around the pegs) but if you should accidentally knock your mouse off your desk, the ball will follow Murphy's Law and roll to the most inconvenient, hard to reach places. You may add a dent or two during the process.
-No scroll wheel. The Setpoint software does allow you to program one of the buttons to activate universal scroll - which works fine for web pages - it's kind of hit-and-miss between various applications. Not a deal-breaker for me but for anyone that is used to switching weapons in FPS games using the scroll-wheel, then get used to using the keyboard instead.
-After 10 years in production and still no wireless model. Shame on you, Logitech!

Other Thoughts: This is my third marble mouse. The previous 2 lasted about 5 years each and may have lasted longer had I not beat the snot out of them.
My last one died about a month ago and have been trying to get by using "normal" mice. None of the local shops had this in stock so imagine my joy when I saw this for sale on Newegg! I should have bought 2.
