1 out of 5 eggsDesigned to disintegrate

Pros: Plug and play with no driver install interaction.

Cons: After one year the earphone pads turn to black flecks and crumble everywhere. The plastic support pieces that swivel develop cracks in them.

Other Thoughts: I guess this is why the newer headsets use cloth, because the old design suffers from molecular disintegration.

1 out of 5 eggsBreaks after 1 year

Pros: Good sound, comfortable, nice mic, and good voice changer.

Cons: After 1 year of usage the headset will break on the ear piece. I bought this product 2 times and after both times 1 year later it would break.

If you buy this make sure you're ready to re buy every year.

3 out of 5 eggsUncomfortable, at first.

Pros: When I first got this headset, it was really uncomfortable after only 30 minutes of use.
But then the next day I got my hair cut and figured out the problem was my longer hair. So now, even with gunnar glasses, it is comfortable.

Cons: There is a problem going on with my Virtual 7.1 surround, the volume just randomly goes up and down and it gets really annoying but its just fine in stereo.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound!

Pros: This is a great headset and I definitely recommend them. They have great sound and are great when playing games like Battlefield. I used them for many years!

Cons: The only reason I gave it 4 eggs was because I have had to have them replaced because the plastic connecting the headband to the speakers is pretty thin, and broke off after falling from a short height. If you don't have kids or dogs knocking things off your desk then these things are golden!

4 out of 5 eggsMaybe a little too solid

Pros: The headset is amazingly plug and play so I didn't have to configure settings nor get any third party software just to get it going in the right direction. The audio quality is solid and people tell me I sound better with the new mic.

Cons: My only downside is that it fits a little too small on my head. Granted I have a massive head, it can be uncomfortable to wear after a few hours of using and I have to take them off. I would personally recommend to Logitech to make the ear cuffs more comfortable.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great headset. Very comfortable. Does everything as advertised. Would recommend to anyone.

Cons: Very fragile. I actually broke one of the buttons on the side in my first month of ownership. Luckily I was able to exchange it for a new one. This one has held up very well for over a year now. I would buy it again given the chance.

1 out of 5 eggsAnnoying Quirks

Pros: Surround sound works nicely
Good noise cancellation

Cons: Random popping noises
Faint hissing noises
No stereo-mix (You have to use their drivers which don't include it)

Other Thoughts: The headset has a really nice build quality, however the real problem I have is with the drivers. I will admit that these are my first USB headset so I can't speak for other USB headsets, but I don't think I will buy anymore...

For the few months I've had these I keep finding small, but immensely annoying quirks which all seem to stem from the drivers for the headset. I've heard nonstop hissing noises in the headset that only stop after reducing the sampling rate of the microphone. I've also heard random popping noises every 10 seconds or so, but only when certain programs are open (Ventrilo in this case). One of my biggest problems is that there is no native stereo mix included with the drivers. Seriously the drivers support surround sound and voice changing, but no stereo mix.

Its just so frustrating going back and forth with this thing. It seems like once I've finally fixed one thing, another pops up. I've tried multiple driver versions in the hope of fixing some of the problems. Honestly I've put too many hours trying to play bug whack-a-mole with a headset that is so expensive.

That all being said, this would be a great headset if the drivers had all of the kinks knocked out. Until then I would avoid it.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent sound with only one design drawback

Pros: The price point on these are an excellent buy if you're venturing into surround sound headphones for the first time. Logitech's software can be bulky but it's fairly easy to use with no previous understanding of the settings. The bass on these can be a bit fuzzy sometimes if you crank it up to high. The virutal surround hardly ever mixes up sound sources on screen, if all the years I played I was amazed at how many games it supported. While using these I've been accused of cheating many time in games because I know just where other players are around me so I can attest to the quality of their drivers. The earpieces/pads have some flaws about them which I'll talk about in the Cons section but other than that I play up to 10 hours maybe with out ever taking them off. They're extremely soft and it doesn't push into your head to the point of giving you migraines.

TL;DR version:
Sound quality - Excellent
Comfort - Great
Ease of use - Amazing
Software - Slow at times but simple and easy to configure

Cons: The main reason I want to write this review is because of the cons. I've owned this headset for years and have repaired it myself. The design of this headset is lacking. The pads on the ears and top piece tend to fray and peel off with long use especially when the weather is hot and they get sweaty. I've walked out of my house with the black bits of padding stuck to my face, causing people to give me concerning looks.

The second and most critical flaw is the swivel joints. I've read reviews and it seems to be common that the plastic swivel joints are prone to snapping in half after a while. I dropped mine on a pillow one day only to pick them up a minute later to see one ear piece dangling from the wire. After giving up and gluing it onto the headband it worked just find, albeit a little less ergonomic of my fat head. Years later the 2nd swivel joint finally snapped simply for taking it off me head. The plastic joints do not stand up to years of constant abuse. There are guides on other sites describing how to make your own swivel joints to replace them but having a $100 headset hinge on a tiny plastic piece is a pretty bad call on Logitech's part. If you take care of these headphones and treat them gently then you should see years and years of use with no problems at all, just avoid dropping them and you'll be safe.

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons when my headset's 2nd earpiece broke I decided to just buy the G930 because the devil I know seemed safer than buying a brand new unfamiliar headset. the sound quality is nothing to shake a stick at, I went from a 5.1 desktop set up to these and never looked back.

5 out of 5 eggsBest headset I've owned

Pros: -Has lasted me 4 years now.
-It's inexpensive.
-I use this specifically for gaming and I can hear more then most of my friends. I can hear more footsteps in CSGO and CSS with this cheaply priced headset when my friends are using expensive alternatives.
-Comfortable for long gaming sessions.
-Mic quality is great and designed fantastically. You can flip it up to mute the microphone and then flip it back down to turn it back on. It's come in absolute clutch while eating on Skype. The Mic feels and looks high quality and still is allowed a bit of give to bend.
-Has an (okay) bass, and the treble doesn't distort making it perfect for competitive gaming (hearing footsteps most importantly).

Cons: -The synth leather on the ear cups and head strap wore off in about 1.5 years. I had to replace all of the cushions.
-I don't really use the surround sound. I find this surround sound system to confuse you. You think something is in front of you and it ends up being behind you. Stereo works much better for gaming and is more accurate. You still know which direction someone is coming from in stereo (game sense?).

Other Thoughts: Every other headset I've owned didn't live through the abuse I give to them by lanning, random drops, and huge amounts of use. I know some people complain about the durability of the G35 but the metal bar inside of the top head strap really adds to the reliability of its durability. Seriously this thing should have broken a long time ago and it didn't.

I had a pair of Steelseries Siberias - those lasted about 6 months and then broke when I let a friend wear them and he dropped them.. I had Steelseries 5Hv2's - the right ear randomly stopped working and the sound quality was never really there. I've had medUSA's, the sound quality distorted after about a year and the treble was much too high. These were all competitively priced (at the time) at about 75-100 bucks and the Logitech G35 has blown them all out of the water.
