5 out of 5 eggsI can't figure it out yet....

Pros: Cool looking mouse, the on the fly dpi settings are excellent. Although people complain, I also like the buttons on the side. With weights has a solid feel.

Cons: Feels kinda cheap, but the SCROLL WHEEL. I was skeptical about the scroll wheel on this mouse with all the complaints, but I was sure I could get over them. The click part isn't so bad. The hyper scrolling WOULD be amazing, except the scroll wheel isnt balanced, so it will randomly spin if you put its weight off balance.

Other Thoughts: This is a great mouse, just don't depend on hyper scrolling.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother solid mouse from Logitech

Pros: The feature set speaks for itself. I love the hyper scroll for web surfing or reading large documents. Comfortable for average size hands

Cons: The DPI switches can be easily bumped due to placement. Good for in game sniping, bad for close combat. The side buttons feel a bit crammed as well.

Other Thoughts: Can't deduct an egg for not being fully adjusted to the layout. The mouse works well, no batteries to fool with and glides smoothly.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Amazing

Pros: Texture is amazing, and it doesn't have that cheap gloss that so many mice have. It fits perfectly, and works on every surface i have thrown at it (excluding glass and tree bark)
Buttons are placed in convenient location, and the auto scroll button makes surfing web pages and long lists of whatever a breeze. Cord is braided so it doesn't get caught on anything, although it is a bit stiff

with the weight cartridge, you can set it to the exact weight you want. very customizable.

Logitechs included software on the CD is outdated. Best to just download the updated setpoint from their site.

Cons: took me a couple of rounds of Left 4 Dead 2 to get used to the higher DPI. I know I could have lowered it but my goal was to get used to using a higher dpi in general.

I haven't contacted logitech yet or searched on any forums, but when browsing using Chrome or IE the back/foward functions you can set the buttons to jumps a page, so instead of going back/forward to the previous or next, it'll go 2 pages back. this doesn't happen in firefox. Haven't tried with safari or opera

Other Thoughts: Overall, 9/10. This mouse is very durable, comfortable, and accurate

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

Pros: Great mouse, I use it for starcraft 2 and dota. Great mouse for both as you can change weight with it. Cheap too.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Laser is spot on, no issue with the accuracy of the mouse.

Cons: The programable buttons, not sure if I just got a bad one but the back up and forward buttons double click so I'll jump back two pages on the internet and forward two. Had to program a macro just to get it working properly. In Call of Duty MW2 the three buttons are all alt and can't be set to anything different. I have had a G5 for a long time and it functions much better then this mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome!

Pros: Change DPI on the fly! Very ergonomic / fits the hand very well. Has tons of buttons and features.

Cons: None, I love this thing!

Other Thoughts: My first day or two of use my hand ached. After that I got used to it. I do not care for the used-look paint scheme but no biggie.

5 out of 5 eggsGrippy, slick, and fun

Pros: -200-5700 DPI (!)
-On-The-Fly DPI switching (5-setting programmable)
-Status lights for DPI setting
-Grippy texture
-Variable weights (6x 1.7g, 6x 4.5g)
-Hyperscrolling feels great
-Ergonomic, great for palm-grip and claw-grip.
-Three thumb buttons.
-Fully programmable buttons (each and every)
-Onboard memory for taking profiles *with the mouse.*
-Braided cloth cable--no binding from those gnarly rubber ones.

Cons: -Mousewheel feels a incredibly cheap.
-Weights don't feel massive enough difference between none and maxed out.
-Lackluster graphic.
-Laser is position forward of center (awkward moments when my laser drops off my pad)
-Software can be confounding.

Other Thoughts: The mouse is great. Purchased with significant Mail-in rebate, and Logitech is great about getting those MIRs to the customer. I've purchased many devices from Logitech and never once been disappointed with the MIR.

The status lights are great, as they let you know which setting you have selected, but the don't report the absolute DPI, just the relative setting number. The mouse wheel feels very cheap, almost as if it's about to break any moment. I'm hesitant to do any serious scrolling with the thing, and I keep Hyperscrolling enabled most of the time just so I don't feel like it's about to break. It's a somewhat serious flaw to an otherwise impeccable product.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Mouse - Worthless Tech Support

Pros: I'm happy with this mouse - it tracks great, and feels solid. There are five actual buttons that can be programmed. A great feature for AutoCAD macros.

Cons: The scroll wheel left & right movements can be programmed to do something different, but I haven't used these for functions since it isn't always easy to perform the left or right movement without also triggering the main wheel down button, unless you're careful. This doesn't come naturally when one is focusing on work instead of the mouse. No big deal.

The main reason for subtracting a point is Logitech's absolutely worthless and ridiculous "tech" support. Their tech support dept. seems to consist of teenagers coached to mislead and deny. I complained that the software will not work correctly under Windows 7 - one had to manually launch it with administrator privileges for it to work correctly. They denied this (because most likely because they hadn't a clue). I tried various other workarounds, to no avail (ie. launching it via the Task Scheduler as admin). I gave up and decided to wait. They finally fixed the software this month (8/10). How long has Windows 7 been out now? Patheti

Other Thoughts: I bought this mouse because I wanted a programmable multi-button mouse for drafting (in AutoCAD). It's a good solution for my requirements.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: -Amazingly accurate and responsive.
-Smooth
-Nice feel and button choices
-Long braided cord
-On The Fly DPI switch (although I haven't used it much)

Cons: Made in China (like every other thing on Newegg)

Other Thoughts: I tried a Logitech Laser Wireless mouse (MX 620) and it was pretty horrible for gaming. It had no where near the smoothness of this G500, and was out right unresponsive to button clicks at time. Seems like wired is still the way to go for any type of gaming.
