3 out of 5 eggsClicks not Registered

Pros: Tracking is smooth on most surfaces. On the fly dpi adjustment is nice and cogged or freewheel scrollwheel is a great feature.

Cons: Mouse clicks not registered or intermittent in low humidity enviroments.

2 out of 5 eggsDo not waste your money.

Pros: The mouse has great precision, and has lasted over a year of decent use.

Cons: The product has a gaping design flaw. One in which I am experiencing now. It can be explain with some googling, but to sum up the symptom, it will become sensitive and register double clicks when you meant to only do one left click. This makes drag and drop impossible, and it is extremely frustrating. As far as I am concerned getting it replaced is irrelevant as I will only receive a new future problem.

As the title states, I'd heed this warning and move along.

1 out of 5 eggswhat a joke

Pros: 10 buttons looks cool

Cons: the movement is bad what ever I do my mouse cursor jumps all over the screen. Its jittery when moving around with the cursor. Its like its not tracking right its like it goes then it stops when moving in a straight or around the desktop.I'm sending this thing back and getting something else. What a joke. Definitely from Logitech.

Other Thoughts: I like Logitech hardware but this mouse was a joke. I'll have to watch out for bad prodect like this. This mouse had bad reviews already of have simuler problems and more.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Probably the best mouse I have ever used. The high DPI mouse just came hand in hand with the adjustable weights, making it comfortable to change DPI settings for different uses.

Cons: Only lasted a little over a year. Dirt/hair can easily get in the way of the laser. Colour easily darkened after being used for a while(making it look dirty).

3 out of 5 eggsDied ~8 months

Pros: Well, the scroll wheel option of toggling between free spinning and notches is invaluably awesome. I cannot understand why more mice do not offer this feature. The DPI, sensitivity, and accuracy are good. The buttons are all accessible and I appreciate the multiple DPI options.

Cons: The weights don't change the weight of the mouse noticeably to me. Oh, and it died after less than a year of moderate usage. I have been gentle with it, never dropping it or excessively clicking at ridiculous rates. And, sure enough, like many of the other reviews the left click starts to register double clicks when clicking once and is unable to consistently drag anything. Thus it is impossible to select text with the mouse.

Other Thoughts: I retired my old "Microsoft Comfort Optical 3000" mouse to buy this one. The $15 Microsoft served me well for about 4 years. Since replacing it with this one, I've used the Microsoft mouse very roughly with my laptop (throwing it, dropping it, stepping on it, and tripping over the cord daily) and the little $15 Microsoft mouse still shows no signs of wear. Why is it that this expensive Logitech cannot come close to competing with quality? Good features, but lacks any durability with even moderate and cautious use.

2 out of 5 eggsNearly flawless, yet being returned

Pros: Comfort of the mouse.
Gliding ability.
Button clicking and setup.

Cons: The one and only reason I am in the process of returning this mouse despite everything else I love about this mouse.. the scroll wheel. Coming from the G5, I have spent a lot of time searching for a replacement but cannot seem to find a G5 below $200.

This G500, I consider, faulty because of the scroll wheel. There is absolutely ZERO resistance on the scroll wheel, thus making scrolling effortless. The problem I have is that in games, I find my character scrolling through weapons (BF3) accidentally, almost every time I get into some medium to heavy battles. I have wedged tissue paper in between the scroll wheel and the side of the buttons to prevent it from moving with minimal success. I even stopped using the scroll wheel and simply changed weapons using the keyboard, but the gliding from side to side still caused the scroll wheel to move.

Other Thoughts: I am not a fan of returns, but this mouse I feel is demanding a return. I may reconsider as I can 'promote' it onto my wifes machine as 'an ultimate browsing mouse', but I doubt it.

They should honestly market this mouse as the best internet surfing mouse available. If you play a game that you use the scroll wheel for, and appreciate how the scroll wheel 'locks' in position, then DO NOT buy this mouse. You will be sadly disappointed like myself.

I am returning this for a g400, as it appears to be the closest setup to my G5. I really enjoyed the 6+ years I got out of my G5 and don't want a 'new' mouse, but due to lack of availability, I have no choice.

I am giving this mouse a rating of 2 stars because everything else about this mouse is flawless, but the marketing of this 'Gaming' mouse yet providing a IMO faulty scroll wheel is simply irrevocable.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best!

Pros: Great feel. Adjustable weight. Good reach to all buttons. Nice scroll wheel with selectable scroll speed. On the fly DPS adjusting which is great for FPS games.

I highly recommend this mouse even with the small problem noted in the "cons" section.

Cons: I have had my current one for almost 3 years. Not one problem. Now all of the sudden it has begun disconnecting/reconnecting to my computer. This only happens in the middle of a game...boooooo. The mouse actually freezes for about 3 seconds.

Other Thoughts: I have followed several blogs and forums about this exact issue happening to many other customers recently. some only had the mouse for a few months while others had it for as long as I did before it started happening. The consensus is two possible things. One--the drivers are failing and need to be reinstalled (Logitech's Gaming Software). Two--Where the braided cord enters the mouse shell, it does a 90 degree turn and causes a crimp in the wire. This leads to a loosened solder point inside. I reinstalled the driver software and the problem stopped happening for about two weeks, then it started again. So I am assuming that I have the second issue.

Either way, this mouse was well worth it's cost for me. So much so that I just purchased a new one from Newegg to since they just went on sale and had a promo code. I probably should have bought several of them to keep in storage since they are discontinued.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great...

Pros: Multiple buttons, sensitivity adjustment buttons, weights, quality cable cord.

Cons: Right mouse button issue (see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: After 2 years my right mouse button is going out, did a search online and it appears to be a somewhat common problem, otherwise it's a great mouse. Need to see if I can get a replacement form my warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Works right out of the box with no drivers. The resolution on it is great and adjustable on the fly. The wheel toggles between smooth scrolling and click scrolling. It has a very rough (think 120 grit sandpaper) texture where your thumb and fingers grip the mouse body, and a finer texture (think 2000+ grit sandpaper) on the buttons.

Cons: The cord is a little stiff and I thought I might damage it working the kinks out of it--but it was fine and seems rugged.

Other Thoughts: Comes with a set of weights you can add to the bottom of the mouse. After playing around with it I found it worked best for me without any additional weight. At first I was not sure if I liked the textures but after only a short while I prefer the texture over a smooth plastic or rubbery feel very much.
