5 out of 5 eggsGreat product & support

Pros: Crisp, precise function. Lots of buttons. Can create multiple function profiles.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had this mouse for two weeks shy of three years before I finally wore out the left click button. Logitech replaced it without any hassle. This company has great customer service. And thanks to NewEgg, I didn't have to look for a receipt either. It was still in my account history.

2 out of 5 eggsGamer Beware

Pros: Feels great and nice features.

Cons: I bought this mouse January 2012. It worked great until this last week or two (June 2013). The mouse began to double-click with a single-click. I followed all of the troubleshooting with Logitech and my OS. Nothing helped. Do your research about this product before you buy. There are some fixes and many forum posts regarding this "double-clicking" bug. I will try this fix soon. I will not game with this mouse until it's fixed or replaced with a better brand. Wish me luck.

2 out of 5 eggsAt first it was Awesome but.....

Pros: Great tracking, low price, lots of reviews.

Cons: After 6 moths latter, left click started to malfunction. It stopped registering clicks. Then sometimes latter same thing happened with right click too!

Installing setpoint was a pain. Every time it requires internet connection and sometimes installation process failed because of not recognizing the mouse.

Other Thoughts: After facing click malfunction, I found many people faced this type of problem over internet. This is a common problem of all Logitech mice. I was totally blown away by the huge numbers of reviews of this G500 and bought it without proper investigating Now I am facing the consequences. Will never buy any logitech mouse again!

1 out of 5 eggsan FPS no no

Pros: Very nice feel and heft to the mouse and extremely accurate.

Cons: If you move the mouse rapidly the scroll wheel moves and for most fps this changes weapons on you as you swing around. Also, in everyday page browsing I find the pages jumping around from moving the mouse too quickly.

5 out of 5 eggs2 Year Review!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: So much to love about this mouse its gonna take a lot to cover it all, here we go:
-The texture is NOT like the G400 (thank goodness)
-The grip-texture is plastic, soft, sand-paper-like texture, good grip and does not get sweaty/dirty easily.
-The texture on M1&2 are still a soft plastic type but not so sandpapery.
-Neither of these surfaces will ever crack or peel :)
The mouse wheel is amazing though I see a lot of newegg reviewers complain about it.
-The mouse wheel has awesome rubbber strip down the midde with metal on the sides to help understand where to press for the Left&Right scrollwheel-click.
-L&R scrollwheel click take some getting used, however it feels very natural and good to use.
-In non-hyperscoll, this mouse has never failed me and has a solid click with good travel, and is a viable options for switching weapons if that's what you're used to(hopefully not).
-With hyperscroll mode the wheel becomes nearly frictionless and is VERY HANDY on any type of long page; forums, EULA, wikipedia, ect.
-Hyperscroll button is never in the way somehow....
DPI buttons are placed perfectly and require no hand adjustment to reach
-DPI LEDs are deep red color and will display which of the 5 sensitivity levels you are on
The thumb buttons are nothing new to gaming mice but these are perfect
-Three thumb-buttons makes a lot of sense and comes in handy, perfect for melee, special abilities, block, or weapon switching in games
-Logitech gaming software allows you to map any button to whatever type of input you like, very nice!
-Logitech gaming software allows you to enable the 1000hz polling rate and 5700 DPI, as well as customize sensitivity levels, mapping, and profiles
The tracking on this mouse is VERY nice, smooth as could be and works even better on nice large cloth mousepad
-Laser is placed at the front end of the mouse which makes the tracking feel even better, more mice should be like this
-Mouse lift distance is small and and barely moves the cursor
-Mouse feet are durable and have lasted a good long time without wear
-Mouse feet would not last on any surfacce other than a good mousepad (dont use paper)
-Mouse feet appear to be replaceable
Weight cartridge is really cool and helps customize/refine the mouse to be more comfortable
-Easy to change the weights with press of a button
-Mouse can be very heavy or very light(or anywhere in between)
-Balance of this mouse can even be adjusted with the weight cartridge for those that are really picky
The G500 braided-cable is very nice and durable, unlike the MX518 and G400 before it
The mouse is the perfect shape and is Very similar to MX518, G400, G5

Cons: No cons I love this mouse

Other Thoughts: A friend of mine has a G500 aswell and I noticed his DPI buttons have a red '+' and a '-' printed on them, however my G500 does not, and never did. Strange

Anyways I have had this mouse close to 2 years now. I bought it on newegg and the rest is history. It helped me be better in in EVERY game I play, and in EVERY application I use. I have had many long gaming sessions and even been a bit rough on it sometimes. It still looks brand new, the cable is perfect the surface/buttons are clean and I wouldn't be surprised if this lasted me another 2 years. If it does happen to die, I will replace it with a white G600 because Logitech has proven themselves to me several times. G-Series is VERY nice quality, keyboard and headsets are aswell.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect

Pros: I like this mouse. The fact that you can insert weights into it is such a brilliant idea. My wife even loves it, and that is saying a lot.

Cons: The right mouse button doesn't always work. It is a gaming mouse so if it doesn't work properly I get killed. Big problem.

Other Thoughts: Love Logitech and they are working with me to get another mouse shipped to me. If they treat me right I will stick with them.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Massive DPI range that has on the fly controls which can be configured via the drivers. Extra weights lets me make the mouse heavier and helps with control. Fit feels good on the hand. Free-scrolling is a nice feature.

Cons: 10 buttons? I count 6. 8 if you're generous and include the DPI switching buttons, I suppose the side scroll clicks are counted as 9/10. 3rd side button (bottom middle) has issues being mapped outside of the drivers. Cord likes to snag on things due to its braided cover.

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if it had even heavier weights but as it is it's fine. 5700 DPI is overkill, unless your in-game sensitivity is in the hundredths.
