3 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Good customizabilty. Lots of buttons for various functions, whether Windows hotkeys or gaming.

Cons: Logitech software is not the best, it's supposed to auto-detect the application and switch to the profile. This is useless, does not work, and results in the need to manually switch the profiles yourself. Button placement/size isn't the best; it's easy to mash 2 buttons at once, especially the side buttons that overlap.

Other Thoughts: Got it to replace a G5 that died from a work-hardened cord. I never bother with the gimmicky weight insert. Pointless, you get used to whatever weight you have.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Macro Mouse

Pros: Has plenty of options for customization; complex macro key strokes, key assignments. The multiple profiles are very useful, and with the added on board memory it doesn't require you to install the software on every computer in order to use customized profile.

The weight system is also nice. I never noticed before how useful it is to make your mouse heavier or lighter before. It has increased my gaming edge just by tweaking the feel of it.

Cons: The design is right hand only it seems. I am right handed, but it is a good note to make that the mouse seems to fit better on the right hand.

the three thumb buttons on the left side by your thumb are not very easy to distinguish when playing, and could take sometime to get used to.

The scroll wheel can go into a "free wheel mode" but it really isn't useful in any application since you will need more precision than really fast scrolling.

The software is a little bit confusing. I have modified some profiles, but they don't seem to work all the time when i load cretin application. I have so far just restored to forcing the mouse to use the profile on its on board memory.

Other Thoughts: My first real macro mouse, and I am happy with it. Maybe not the greatest, but its cons are easily forgiven and some are not really cons. the software is odd, but I think it is just me missing something. Overall if you want a really nice gaming mouse this one is really good, and I suggest anymore to get it.

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier

Pros: I've had this mouse for over a year and it's still going strong. Love the way it fits my hand and the buttons are positioned just right. Switching sensitivity on the fly is great for FPS's and lots of keybinding options.

Cons: None so far!

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than g9x

Pros: - 3 thumb buttons
- programmable keystrokes and macros
- custom weighting
- Good for palm/fingertip grip

Cons: - A little long and high (I have small hands)

Other Thoughts: I originally bought the logitech g9x as it was a better buy at the time and seemed closer in size to my older mouse. Within 30 mins my thumb side of my hand was cramping due to how wide it was. The g500 is definitely a better fit for me with small hands

4 out of 5 eggsWorking good

Pros: Feels comfortable in my hand.

Cons: There is a high pitch "eeeeeeeeee" from it when it sits still from time to time. Not too noticeable unless it is quiet around me.

Other Thoughts: I use the "claw" grip.

2 out of 5 eggsToo sensitive

Pros: Well built and easy to install.

Cons: Too sensitive. Right mouse button will click when just resting finger on it. Difficult to dial in for gaming use.

4 out of 5 eggsBest value

Pros: All around a great mouse. Intuitive buttons, software is excellent for setting up macros (Not just setpoint, but logitech gaming software). 5 DPI on-the-fly settings are great, very easy to customize DPI levels...Lastly the button ontop below the wheel lets you switch from 'free-wheel' to clicked, line by line type scrolling which is nice.

Cons: Says 10 buttons - and is true. However write off two of them for DPI up and down if you use that. If you don't use them for DPI, they are in a non-intuitive place for your index finger to reach for effectively while gaming. The third thumb button (in the middle at the bottom of the 3 thumb buttons) is a little recessed and not always easy to find. Likely to accidentally press one of the other two top thumb buttons when trying to feel for it.
