1 out of 5 eggsComplete Downgrade from the MX Revolution

Pros: Honestly there a hardly any. Aside from the Dark field and that there is no more docking charge station, were the only pros in my opinion.

Cons: Everything about this mouse is complete downgrade/disgrace to the MX Revolution, its predecessor. This "Performance MX," as they call it, is a sham. This mouse features crappier technology:There is no more "smart logic scroll feature." Meaning, when you would scroll, the mouse would "sense" how fast you are trying to spin or "scroll-through content." This new "Performance MX's" solution to this technology... They put a button where the old search button was on the MX Rev. Yea, folks, That's the big upgrade, you have to physically click a button on/off to switch between free scroll mode or click-to-click scroll. On top of that the document flip is in a horrid position. Right where your thumb lies... Now I accidentally doc flip unintentionally. The doc flip interface is ghetto too. Prior with the MX Rev it was a cool 3D album flip of all your programs and apps. Overall I am seriously considering to going back to my MX Rev. for being 6 yrs old it still holds a charge longer than 3 weeks.

Other Thoughts: More Cons:They removed the Lithium-Ion battery with a much more worthless Ni-MH rechargeable battery. You can physically take this out and replace, which I guess is OK. But the battery barely holds a 5 day charge and that's even with me turning it off at night. This is really a joke compared to the MX Rev. who's battery life when I bought it was an easy month + if not more. I currently have the USB cord connected charging it... If I wanted a corded mouse don't you think I'd buy one. This again defeats the purpose of a "WIRELESS MOUSE." My MX Revolution is 5+ years old and I feel that it is still the superior mouse. I warn against this purchase. Do your research. I spent only ~60$ on this so I'm not out much but am completely speechless to why this "Performance MX" is so dumpy. I called Logitech and complained about all the aspects I am pointing out here. There only answer was, "we will submit this to our R+D/Customer Relations dept and let them know."
Waste of time.

3 out of 5 eggsNice mouse, but there are downsides

Pros: Feels great in the hand. Simple to setup.

Cons: Battery only lasted 24 hours regularly. Logitech tech support directed me to purchase a "quality" NIMH replacement battery as a replacement after only 3 months use. Why didn't they put in a Quality battery to begin with?

Other Thoughts: Yes, but the Master MX is the new design. Expect to purchase a new NIMH battery soon after purchase

1 out of 5 eggsWorkstation user? Stay away

Pros: It's a a solid build, got some good weight to it, slides really easy.

Three year warranty!

Cons: And this is the downfall of this mouse: it's a wireless only mouse. The only thing the USB cable does is charge it. The wireless receiver is terrible.

From as little as 2.5 ft away from the receiver, the mouse is glitchy. At three feet, it's unusable. That wouldn't be an issue if I could just plug in the USB cable and use it as a wired mouse.

Other Thoughts: If you're like me, and like to use desktops and workstations to do work, this mouse can greatly disappoint you. I keep my workstation on the floor, several feet from my hand. Plugging the receiver there just doesn't work.

You need to bring in a USB cable to the top of the desk to charge the mouse. Now you need another cable for the receiver. How is this more convenient than a wired mouse? If you're lucky enough to have a monitor with a good USB hub that doesn't introduce too much latency, you might be able to plug the receiver in the monitor, and avoid the mess of too many USB cables.

At home, I have a G700 mouse that I purchased in 2010. The G700 can work either over wireless, or over USB. In fact, when a USB cable was plugged in, it would only talk over USB. I've only used it wired. I can't believe that a newer mouse in the same price range lacks these features.

On an unrelated note, I purchased the Performance MX over the MX Master, because of it's three year warranty, as opposed to the Master's one year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse and customer support ever

Pros: This is one of the most comfortable and smoothest mice I've ever owned. The scrolling wheel's adjustable speed is great for web browsing.

The 3 year warranty is also fantastic. They sent me a brand new mouse after 2.5 years of brutal use

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsScroll Wheel - a Nightmare

Pros: Nice outer Design

Cons: A lot of applications have serious "scroll crawl" issues with the high (non-configurable) sensitivity of the scroll wheel on this Mouse.
It is extremely annoying when you want to zoom on an object you work with and it zooms way far to the maximum in normal scroll mode. Same when viewing online Maps..
Another thing is when you press and drag the middle scroll you have to press harder to make it pan which is too much effort compared to a $9 mouse.

This is not worth the Money. Stay away.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent mouse

Pros: I've had this 5 years now and the battery and all of the buttons are still functioning.

Cons: The whole dark field thing is a gimmick as far as I can tell. It has never worked on glass as promised, thick nor thin. It has more issues with alternative surfaces than my other Logitech laser mouse.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for Mac, but Remember the Warranty

Pros: Great Design
You can use it while charging via the USB cable
Programmable buttons (not a big deal for PCs, but the Mac arena neglected this for a very long time)
Can use on Windows PC or Mac

Cons: After 2 years the mouse started having clicking issues. The left-mouse button will either do nothing or double-click, or triple-click, or more. Re-calibrated the mouse and tried various trouble-shooting on my own. It would work for a while and then start having issues again. Unfortunately, I thought my mouse was older at the time this started and didn't think it would still be under warranty. Ended up looking up the purchase date eventually but by that time was 5 days past the 3 year mark. Called Logitech just in case and they confirmed that I was out of luck.

Other Thoughts: Even though not getting it in to Logitech while under warranty was entirely my fault, I'm having a hard time justifying buying another $100 mouse from Logitech.

1 out of 5 eggsAwesome when working, terrible customer service

Pros: Feel and function of this mouse is awesome for a desktop. The right number of extra function buttons without going overboard. Charge lasts me a couple weeks to a month, depending on usage. Easy to use plugged in if you run out of charge. It just becomes a corded mouse temporarily. It has a very solid feel and the free scroll wheel is really nice ... when it works properly. I used one for about 5 or 6 years until I literally wore it out.

Cons: I purchased a new one to replace my worn out mouse. The battery was defective. The charge would last a week at most, less than my 5 year old mouse of the same model. (new battery did correct this) Logitech was happy to send me a new replacement mouse but would not send me just a battery. So I accepted. The new mouse had a scroll wheel that wouldn't stay still. It scrolled too easily and was out of balance, such that anytime you lifted your finger off the wheel the page you were looking at would scroll away. Note that this was without using their fast scroll program.

Other Thoughts: Customer service was terrible. Logitech was once exceptional but they've apparently gone down hill. I could hardly understand the person (non English native language). She was not a good listener. She claimed to recreate my problem from the other end of the phone line and proceeded to tell me the problem was normal. There were several follow up exchanges. All I wanted was a battery. Eventually my problem was solved by using the battery from the replacement mouse and throwing that one away! I once recommended Logitech. Now I STRONGLY recommend you first try other alternatives! Statistically, your device will of course work as purchased. If it doesn't, I hope you get a better customer service experience than I did!
