4 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

Pros: Comfortable, responsive, tracks on lots of different surfaces, rechargeable with included cable, and useable while recharging

Cons: The included rechargeable AA must be really cheap. I own 3 of these, and the battery is consistent bad for all 3. Have to recharge once every two days with moderate use.

Other Thoughts: I replaced the included rechargeable with Duracell rechargeables in two of my mice, and the can go considerable longer, maybe 3 time longer, without recharging. The battery is the only reason I docked it an egg.

Right handed only, as far as I know. I've never looked for left hand specific mice, though.

Unifying Receiver. Ok, but can you buy a keyboard without a receiver to accompany the mouse?

Best mouse I've ever had.

2 out of 5 eggsThey didn't build a better mouse!

Pros: Comfortable most of the time. Lighter than the MX1100.

Cons: Comfort of the thumb buttons is less than the MX1100. When I use the "back" thumb button, a small magnifying glass appears on the screen, and the screen DOES NOT go back one page/sequence/window.

Other Thoughts: I had used the MX 1100 for many years and loved it. I found that it was acting erratically, so I decided to replace it. Little did I know that all I had to do was just clean the lazer lens with a q-tip and alcohol. Well, the reason I loved the 1100 and bought this Performance mouse was because of the quickness and comfort of using the thumb buttons for double-clicking and going backwards. I was wrong in choosing the Performance. The double-click button is awkward and lacks the tactile feel of the 1100. The real kicker is that not only does the back button not go backwards (which is the main reason I buy Logitch mice), but the tactile feel of the back button is horrible. So is the zoom button. My rating of the MX1100 was 10 of 10. My rating of the Performance is 2 of 10.

I contacted Logitech tech support and they offered me suggestions on how to fix the "back button" problem. Well, their suggestions didn't work. Sadly, my case is still open and I haven't heard back from them in over a week. I am not sure that they know how to fix the problem.

The kicker is that when the MX1100 was acting erratically, I asked tech support for help, AND I decided to sell it on the "auction" site. Two days before the auction ended I received instructions from tech support to clean the laser with a q-tip and alcohol. IT WORKED!!! My 1100 was back to its old self. I had already received the Performance and I wanted to kick myself for having sold the 1100 for 20% of what I paid for it.

Now, I am returning the Performance and looking for a new, or even used MX1100 to make my mousing needs as they used to be. I wonder if Logitech will ever resolve the issue of the magnifying glass. I won't have the Performance to worry about that issue anymore.

I wonder if anyone else had that problem?

5 out of 5 eggsMy Mouse Standard

Pros: The perfect mouse for me since years: I own several.
It is my standard mouse because design and function are great

Cons: none for the mouse, but...

Other Thoughts: Logitech made cost cuts by eliminating the mouse charging station and replacing it with a simple cable, for me a bad move. I loved the charging station and not having a cable hanging around or being connected like for a wired mouse. This cost cut is an over-proportional value cut for me as well.
Mouse: great
Customer Marketing: bad

5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse ive used/owned

Pros: Had absolutely no problems. Great battery life. Multiple day use between work and gaming even after 2 years of owning. Works on virtually any surface. Used it on clear glass surface and on furniture. Had 0% issues.
Comfortable and never had to worry about it not working.
Highly durable. Thrown into my bag every day for 2 years and the only reason i dont have it anymore is because my backpack was stolen.

Cons: people suck and my car got broken into... but about the device? none whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: amazing device and i plan on purchasing again.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse I've ever used

Pros: This is the best and most comfortable mouse I've ever used. I've owned 5 of these mice. 2 of which lasted about 2 years (heavy gaming use) and the other three are still kicking. With the multiple array of buttons and Setpoint, it's easy to customize your mouse as well. Great for professionals

Cons: The internal batteries eventually die after about 2 - 3 years. Which cause turmoil and heartache. The metal plastic around the thumb will wear away with heavy use causing a scratchy feeling.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a great mouse. I used to go from replacing my mice once or twice a year to every couple of years. I can say this mouse really is worth it's money.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Great ergonomic right handed design, can use for hours with minimal impact on wrist.

Capable of charging through USB while still being used.

Cons: The scroll wheel started off smooth as glass.. now it is more like a cement mixer. But at least I don't have that over-scroll to deal with anymore..

Battery life is very poor, even with regular high 2000+ mAh I started getting two days of use, had to switch to some 5,000 mAh lithium ions to get a good weeks worth of power.

Other Thoughts: Can also be used with no battery and plugged in,still a great mouse if you don't care about a wire and get sick of charging batteries.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and awesome

Pros: I bought this for my husbands birthday to go with the new PC he built. I knew exactly what I was looking for and it got exactly what I wanted for him. A FAST mouse that will scroll on ANYTHING including pant legs and glass counters. Quiet clicks so as to not wake us up when he's RPGing or reading the news, comfortable design and perfect size for male or female hands, and here's the big one- because I personally called newegg when I was searching for this and I was told at first it didn't exist yet- it is not made clear unless you read the Logitech website- you can use this mouse cordless or with the wire while it's charging without having to wait or put it on a dock or spend money on rechargeable batteries. It is the only mouse I could find with this feature. You use it wireless, if it does, you plug it up and keep going. No standing it upright or any of that nonsense. It's perfect.

Cons: Price. I wish it cost less of course but to me, it was worth it to get EXACTLY what I was looking for. And with our bad luck with initially purchased items being defective, I was pleased this mouse did not have to be sent back.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse IMHO

Pros: feels good in hand, battery lasts a long time, and I love that I can use it wirelessly OR wired when the battery starts to get low (which is rare)

Cons: I miss the charging dock that came with the Revolution, but I suppose that just means there's less desk clutter, which makes my only Con a Pro!

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my 4 year old MX Revolution. I loved the Revolution, but clicks would occasionally not register and the pointer would frequently stop responding to movement. I assumed the laser was dying and was just reaching the end of its life. I had been wanting a newer model with a unifying receiver anyways and the wired/wireless option, so I upgraded to the Performance. During the 2 months I've owned it I've observed on a few occasions it has missed a click or failed to respond to movement, something that didn't begin happening with the Revolution until after 4 years. I was surprised to experience that with a fresh new mouse and hope it was just a rare fluke. Other than that, I would recommend this mouse to everyone!

1 out of 5 eggsNot What It Should Be

Pros: Wirelessness, ergonomically comfortable, can use same receiver as other devices.

Cons: The mouse wheel is useless unless you turn on the physical ratchet switch. When you scroll with the wheel in smooth mode whatever you're scrolling will not stop where you want it. It will pause for a moment, then move more in the same direction, or in the other direction, or both one after the other.

Here's one example of how messed up that is: If you're in an application that uses ctrl + wheel for zooming, like a web browser, and you hover over a link and hold ctrl to click it to open the link in a new tab, the mouse will scroll even though you don't have your finger on the wheel, and the page will zoom in or out.

It is infuriating. I called Logitech and the tech told me their software does not support Windows 8.1, but they expected a software update maybe mid-April (maybe later, he was very vague) that might do something to fix it, but maybe not.

I found plenty of other people complaining of the same thing on several forums and offering various "fixes" that don't work.

Logitech should be ashamed and embarrassed to release a product with a flaw like this. It has seriously damaged my opinion of the company.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasts

Pros: *Tracks amazingly well
*Fast for a wireless mouse
*Fits comfortably in your hand
*Logitech's support is responsive
*Battery lasts forever

Cons: I have owned this mouse for about 3 years, and in that time I have run into the same problem twice.. after using it for awhile, the mouse starts sending double-clicks instead of single clicks, making doing things like highlighting text or dragging an icon around nearly impossible. Logitech was able to RMA the mouse for me once, which solved the problem for about a year. I am now faced with buying a new one, or buying a comparable mouse from someone else (there aren't many).

Other Thoughts: The mouse works amazingly well and is very reliable, for about 1-1.5 years.. just expect to re-invest in a mouse once the warranty is up.
